Lady Bow is a character that first appeared in Paper Mario 64 also known as Paper Mario 1. She would join Mario's party as a member in his quest to defeat Bowser. She has appeared in other games as well, so let's learn about her.


Lady Bow, is the leader of Boo's that do not work for Bowser. These boos live in Boo Mansion, the haunted forest around the mansion, and Gusty Gultch. She is a powerful party member.

Not much is known about her history. She is a Princess and cares for the Boo's that follow her. She makes references to Princess Peach indicating they are on good terms with one another. She is assisted by her assistant Bootler, a play on the word Butler. Bootler does make reference of her ancestors being royal linage. Thus, it is likely she is royal blood.

During the Events of Paper Mario Bowser captured the Star Spirits and took the Star Rod making him more powerful than he is. He gave a star spirit to friends that he trusted. He also powered up his allies. One of the allies he powered up was the Tubba Bubba. Tubba Bubba was powerful spike before being powered up. After getting powered up he gain the ability to eat Boos. Lady Bow was outraged that her people were suffering at Bubba's new powers. A star spirit escaped Bubba's Castle. Knowing that Mario was looking for them, she took care of the Star Spirit until Mario arrived. When Mario arrived she told him the situation. Mario agreed to defeat Tubba Bubba. Lady Bow said she would go with Mario.

Lady Bow and Mario discovered Tubba Bubba's weakness. After defeating him Bubba returned to Normal. He then released all the Boos that he had eaten returning things to normal. Lady Bow decided she liked going on adventures and decided to go on Mario's quest. She proves that she is one of his strongest party members by her vanishing move and her powerful slap. She would go on to help Bowser save the Star Spirits and defeat Bowser. After defeating Bowser she is seen attending Princess Peach's party for all the cast members except for Bowser.

Appearance- Lady Bow appears to be a sea green colored Boo. She has a freckle on one of her cheeks. She has a big bow on top of her head.

Personality- Despite her snobby appearance she is a good hearted being. She states that she wants to help Mario rescue Peach from the evil Bowser. Even though she used the Star Spirit to lure Mario to her mansion she did take good care of it. She is shown to care for her Boos as she wanted to defeat Bubba to save her friends. She also says how she helps people that get lost in the haunted forest. However, she can be head strong and stubborn. She even talked back to Bootler when he said it was dangerous for her to go. Yet she insisted. She also things highly of herself by saying of course you will cause I'm the best several times. In addition, it appears she likes action. It should be noted even though she does not work for Bowser or King Boo. She still behaves like a Boo. She confesses that she loves to scare people before helping them because she is a Boo after all.

Abilities- Like all Boos she can vanish. She can Vanish to hide from enemies or vanish to sneak up on them. She also has her powerful hand slap, and her powerful fan attack. She can also hug Mario and hide him with her. This is why she is one of the more powerful party members in Paper Mario.

Attacks- Lady Bow can vanish as I stated and help Mario vanish as well. Her most powerful attack is her powerful slap attack. Lady Bow will go up to an enemy and slap them several times. This attack does a lot of damage to enemies. Another powerful attack is she can use her fan to use as a weapon in battle.

Weaknesses- Like most Boo's she does not have known weaknesses. Although Tubba Bubba could eat Boos but this was only after Bowser powered him up. It is not really a weakness but most Boo's do not like to be starred at. When somebody looks at her for a long time she vanishes. Given how boos are weak to Ed Gadd's Polterguest she probably is too, but this has not been confirmed.

Allies

Bootler-Bootler his her trusted assistant and he has been with her from the get go.

Mario- She wants to help Mario defeat Bowser

Other Party Members- she gets along well with the other Party Members.

Boos- underneath her she really cares for them.

Luigi- Even though they do not interact that much given how he is a brother to Mario she is likely an ally

Peach- Both are princesses and she was eager to help Peach.

Enemies

Bowser- She called Bowser evil for stealing the star rod and stated she wants to defeat him. This could be because he powered up Bubba.

Tubba Bubba- after getting powered up he started to eat Boos. She was eager to defeat him and did not feel sorry for hurting him. However, he did return all the Boo's he had aten and in the ending credits it shows the Boo's holding him up suggesting they may have made amends



Overall, Lady Bow is a strong character and an important ally for Mario and his friends due to her abilities and attacks. Even though she can behave like a typical Boo by scaring people she is not evil. She can be very stubborn and she is not afraid to taunt enemies. Sometimes she can appear to be snobby. However, she is kind hearted and has a sense of morals about her. She is eager to help Mario in his quest, helps people that get lost in her woods, wants to help Peach, and she orders her Boos to take care of the star spirit.
