The Mario Franchise has some iconic characters. The main bad guy in the Mario Franchise is of course Bowser. However, there is another iconic villain from that franchise. That villain is King Boo. King Boo is infamous for being the archenemy to Luigi in the Luigi Mansion series. However, he has appeared in other games. Anyway lets learn about him.

King Boo is the leader of Boos. However, not all Boos follow him. Some Boos follow Lady Bow, and others are friendly to the Mushroom Kingdom. He is a strong ally to Bowser and has aided in Bowser's schemes. However, he comes up with schemes on his own as seen in Luigi's Mansions.

Not much is known about his history on he became King of the Boos. It is not known if he was once a living being. If he was at one time living he was probably a ruler that would make sense on how he became King. No matter how he became King a lot of boos follow him. He is a top villain and is evil. It is revealed in Luigi's Mansion that he has fought Mario and Luigi in the past as he references they caused him several problems in the past. Therefore, it is speculated he could be one of the bigger Boo's in past games that took lots of hits to defeat, but he just did not have his crown on.

He cares for the Boos under him often calling them his little friends. Even Bigger Boos serve under him and he also cares for them. When Professor E Gadd captured Boolossus and trapped him in a painting. This angered the King. He ordered his forces to attack Gadd's lab and free Boolossus as well as other ghosts that Gadd had captured. He used his power to create a mansion for the ghosts to live in.

In addition, he created the Mansion to start his revenge on the Mario Brothers for defeating him and ruining him as well as Bowser's plans. He sent letters to Mario and Luigi telling them they had won a Mansion. Eventually Luigi shows up but Luigi learns how to capture ghosts. Eventually, he defeats the King. Thus, becoming the arch enemy of Luigi.

King Boo was eventually able to get out of his painting. He swore revenge on Gadd and Luigi. He uses his powerful crown to break the dark moon a device that makes ghosts in Evershade Valley calm. He causes the ghosts in Evershade Valley to go haywire. His Crown now can send fireballs as well as electricity out of it. Eventually after a difficult battle he is defeated again.

In Luigi Mansion's 3 he is freed by a follower of his. He once again plots revenge. He is able to capture most of Luigi's friends into paintings. Eventually defeated again by Luigi.

King Boo appears in other games as well as a boss. He also appears in Mario athletic games.

Personality Wise- King Boo is a master and evil villain. He is a clever villain and comes up all kinds of schemes. As I mentioned sending letters to the Mario Brothers, breaking the Dark Moon, luring the Mario Cast into a hotel. He also loves to cause trouble. He is a master of illusions creating mansions, hotels, time portals and other things. He is also very manipulative as he is able to manipulate other ghosts into doing his bidding. Being a ghost he is able to turn invisible and attack from behind.He also loves to scare people for his own amusement.

He also likes to taunt as he taunts Luigi "who actually believes people win mansions in the mail talk about gullible what do they feed you brothers gullible soup". He also taunts Luigi during the games. It is also shown he holds grudges as he references past battles. He will stop at nothing to get even. Once he sets his mind to something he does not stop. As I mentioned he cares deeply for his Boos and considers them his friends. He also though does not care about other ghosts that are not boos calling them useless, but will use them in his schemes.

Powers- He is very powerful. Able to generate things with his crown. He can send powerful bolts of electricity or fireballs from his crown. He can also use his crown to trap people into time portraits or paintings. His power is even stronger when he has boos around him.In athletic games he is powerful as he has a good arm, a powerful swing with the bat and is a good racer.

Physical Appearance- King Boo is a large Boo. He is mostly portrayed as having blue/purple eyes, and a purple tongue with long fangs. His crown is either blue or purple depending on the game. In other appearances he maintains his fangs as well as blue/purple eyes. The main difference is his crown is gold in other games with lots of jewels.

Weaknesses-He is weak to the poltergust as he says that is the only thing he fears. On the other hand in later games he says I'm king of all Boo's I shall no longer fear that machine. He also can be weakened when boos around him are captured.

Allies- King Boo is an ally to Bowser and they share a close friend relationship. Bowser had also helped King Boo in his schemes by lending him tools. Like wise King Boo also aided Bowser's in his schemes. He is also an ally to Petey Piranha as they two are racing partners. In other games it is shown he is also an ally to King K Rool of the Donkey Kong Series. This could be because King k Rool is cruel like he is.

Enemies- His biggest enemy is Luigi due to Luigi spoiling his plans and defeating him several times. He is also an enemy to Professor E Gadd. This is because Gadd traps ghosts in portraits. In addition, Gadd gives Luigi tools for him to defeat him with. He also is an enemy to Mario due to Mario spoiling him and Bowser's plans in the past. It is not mentioned but given how Yoshii is a strong ally to Mario and Luigi he would be an enemy to Yoshii as well.

Neutral- He is Neutral toward Wario. He even admits Wario's face scares him. However, he does not harbor any hard feelings toward Wario.

Anyway, King Boo is a nice addition to the Mario Franchise as another top villain. He is often regarded as being what Bowser is to Mario concerning Luigi. This concludes the King Boo Biography.
