Oh Kelly, you have no idea how much I miss seeing you in the merchandise department, I’m old enough to remember when Kelly was introduced, she and her little crib and her little black dress and her pink nighty. But somehow in the 2000s, Barbie’s sisters were kind of phased out and hardly seen….and we can thank the Bratz for that (if they didn’t have to exist, then My Scene wouldn’t have to exist) granted the sisters were eventually brought back but, sigh Chelsie will always be Kelly to me…though it kind of bothers me that Skipper and Stacie never got their own thing, I mean they both have their own group of friends, but they never had their own individual product in such a long time like maybe not since Yo-Yo Skipper(which by the way got a shout out in the Barbie movie), I mean why bother introducing Chrissy if her older sisters are going to be horrendously underused, I think Kelly’s final appearance may have been Fun Treats Barbie and Kelly *one youtube later* apparently Kelly’s last major product was the Kelly and Friends dolls in 2007, because I guess they were trying to reintroduce her considering that now Barbie was no longer tied down with My Scene

Gameplay and Story: So Kelly and her friends (which includes Ken’s baby brother Tommy, another one in the brand that’s disappeared, no he wasn’t in the movie or the scene of discontinued Barbies) decide to perform a magic show just because, so we play minigames just so we can get find our friends so we can get special items so we can get the keys from our friends in order to find tickets for them to participate and watch the show (wish Barbie was watching the show too but neither she or any of the other Roberts sisters show up in the game)

Graphics: They are what they are considering it’s a game boy color game, I’m just sorry that Kelly’s staying power didn’t last long enough for her to get a game boy advance game but by then My Scene was about to start up, and even they didn't get a console game that I know of

Soundtrack: god I wish it was memorable, but I don’t remember it at all (but it probably doesn’t help that I had to hit fast forward in some parts of the game) however upon a observation all the stations have their own soundtrack

Addictive: I came back to this for the purpose of reviewing it, it actually is adorable though, and yet it reminds me of a different time, remembering watching those kids networks and seeing those commercials, and then a tsunami of nostalgia hits me (it’s usually worse in the fall) making me wish that I could look at a Sears Wish Book again, but Sears is gone, and the wishbooks that are archived online are likely US ones (if they were Canadian ones we would have seen Sailor Moon dolls in there)

Depth: the minigames take up a majority of the game (we gather bunnies, kitties, and Fairies and we speed up the butterfly life cycle) and even after we do all we need to do in regards to performing in the magic show we are basically playing wordle (or rather something that would remind people of wordle)

Difficulty: This game is meant for kids it won’t take very long, it’s harmless fun, it’s a nice nostalgic distraction from a more innocent time

Post Review Follow up: so in another review you will see me say that I wish that the Babysitters Club franchise had managed to get the video game console treatment. It would work best in the Game Boy Department, but then again how would it even work. However I will say this if I had to pick between hanging out with Kelly Roberts or babysitting Karen Brewer, I’d rather play with Kelly, mostly because she’s not a brat. But to me these days Barbie feels a little too generic, there’s nothing that special about them anymore, like Barbies were way better in my childhood years (the 90s to be exact) because I guess all those Disney dolls leave so much to the imagination that they offer so much more…..either that or I just got old,

Well this concludes my review, I actually did see the Barbie movie because I was super curious about it (and I want to know what’s Canon, Generation Girl or My Scene well that wasn’t shown hell they weren’t even seen with the discontinued Barbie dolls)

and just to show my point about how much better Barbie dolls were in my day (and most toys in general) here's a compilation video of Doll ads I made
