Antstream Arcade is a collection of 1400+ retro games for the Arcade, Sega Genesis, Commodore 64, Super Nintendo, Nintendo NES, Atari 2600, and more. It was recently released on the Xbox One and Series X|S, and so I got myself a copy.

I immediately noticed that the Multiplayer category was really buggy and was limited to showing around 10 games. And even if the Multiplayer category did work, it wouldn't allow you to filter based on the number of players or whether a game had coop or not. Since I bought this collection with the intentions of playing it with my family, I wanted to put together a list of multiplayer games. After investing time into putting that list together, I figured I might as well share it, in case anyone else out there wanted to have the games filtered by number of players and by coop.

I’ve actually been wanting to get this game since I’ve seen some that had my interest. Art of Fighting 1+2, Max and Joe and Gauntlet. Though reading the description of it, seems that they’re adding games along the way? Are the games like permanent or do they just come and go like game pass or something like that when removing a game?

What kind of hampers the decision is the price tag. I mean $29.99 for the base version sounds like a decent deal but $79.99 for a lifetime pass… is it worth it?

becerra95: I believe that when they add games, they're permanently added. The game has a built in community, like daily contests and leaderboards, which adds replay value to the games.

Many of the games have challenges, and multiple challenges too. The challenges are small objectives that take place at various points of a game.

The $80 gives you access to all 1400+ games and all future games, forever. For someone who is hesitant, the $30 1 year pass is the better option. Honestly, the only reason I even got this, as opposed to playing them on Vizzed, is so that I can play the games in my living room with my family, rather than all being crowded in my office which has no furniture. Considering that Vizzed has almost all of these games, the only other reason to get this beyond my personal reason would be for the leaderboards and challenges.

One other thing worth pointing out is that these games are actually streamed. I didn't realize this until I started playing some fast paced games and noticed the streaming artifacts. But I guess I should've realized this because it's called Antstream, lol. There wasn't any noticeable lag though, which was pretty impressive, but if you have poor internet, then that would definitely make the games unplayable.
