No I guess I haven’t reviewed all the games in the Troggle franchise or all the Mecc games out there I think this might be the last one but I haven’t played Musuem Madness, I would request eXplore Yellowstone but I don't have alot to discuss about it

Gameplay and Story: So the Intro starts off where the Muncher who was basically the Mascot of Mecc is going along minding his own business and trying to answer a question (even though no Muncher games were formatted like that) when all of a sudden this robotic thing comes and abducts the muncher, we get a headline that shows he’s been abducted (he has a gag in his mouth and yet he has no arms) we are then introduced to Magenta who is this this inventor who lives in the town of Shady Glen I mean Santa Bongo, she explains what happened and who is behind the Muncher’s abduction, she doesn’t really serve a purpose in this game except to call you to find an item or if you’ve found the item, or if...well here’s where we are introduced to her dog Sparky, he’s the one who will do the heavy lifting in the game what we do with him is we move him through 5 different areas (three of which we have to play twice) munching on Sparky Treats to keep him going, unfortunately the troggles in the game like Sparky Treats too, so we need to use Magenta’s Troggulator (troggle zapper and calculator) to make these troggles go away because if these Troggles get to Sparky before we activate the Troggulator they will munch a whole box and Sparky will lose a life. We also use the Troggulator to answer questions in these math problems in these sheds and caves and logs and hidden areas so we can either find a flashing bone that can charge the troggulator (because that runs out of energy too, most of the time we have to do a lighting round of Math Problems to get it fully recharged) and yes we can gain extra boxes of Sparky treats too if we find hiding places carefully

Graphics: This was a sign that Mecc’s animation budget was getting better because the next time we see the Muncher in anything he would have a new look, we’d have new troggles, and well a lot of upgrades it’s a shame we don’t see Sparky and or Magenta in anything else (even though we get a Troggle Trouble Math Easter Egg that shows Sparky has a gold card in Math Munchers Deluxe...WHY WEREN’T THEY IN THE OTHER INTERLUDES IN THE OTHER GAMES? especially those troggles that show up the second time you go to the Great Gobble Desert they look like Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles)

Addictive: This is another one of those games were I was exposed to it via the demos in another game and once I played to a certain point I wanted to play it real badly (but of course I played this for the first time in the early 2000s and Mecc was kaput by this time), and eventually I got to thanks to Classic Reload (and a snowflake turned into a snowball, when I saw it on the site it led me to request Odell Down Under for the site as well because I thought “well if Troggle Trouble can be put on the site maybe they can put ODU on it too) though granted if one must play it I suggest doing it on Classic Reload because when I got a physical copy I was using more advanced systems and well navigating Sparky kind of was difficult he was moving too fast like, it would cause me to crash into some things that can zap the life out of the sparky treat box or crash into a Troggle that doesn’t move from it’s spot or crash into a group of troggles , or items that will drain you of your Sparky treats

Soundtrack: this is a 90s game so like most games in the 90s the game consists of a MIDI composed soundtrack  (however when I played it there was some kind of sound issue that would cause the blue screen of doom to appear when reach the space time warp...this is where you save the game)

Depth: well again it depends on how good you are at the game, and where certain items are if you’re lucky the items you are looking for are in the math problem sheds (and believe me it made things a lot easier for me the last time I played it, I finished it in less than half an hour) good thing I had lots of practice with the demo version that came with the Yukon Trail. Once you reach the swamp, you have go backwards to the places you've been to already (because once you've fixed up TROG, yeah he was taking orders you have to get Frankentroggle's crap from the places you've already been to)

Difficulty: It was a First grade through sixth grade level of gameplay (on the demo version you are stuck at level 3)

Post-review follow up: I gotta say it even though this is technically a game in the Muncher Franchise and the Muncher has little to do here, this is probably the best game in the franchise

I played Muncher games when they first came out. I can remember playing them after school. At that time my mother worked in the school system so when the dismissal bell range. I would have to wait for my mother to get done. I would use this time to do homework or play computer games.

I wonder what year this one came out? I remember the first few Muncher games, but I do not remember playing this one.

Your review though, makes me think this would be a fun game to play. It also makes it sound like it would be a game to introduce a child to mathematics too. I always thought the Muncher games were fun. In Elementary school I was in advanced math. Often, I would play Munchers just to see what was the highest score I could get. Very good review to a classic PC game series.

here's the link to classic reload if you wish to play it, the physical copy I have I just install and go (kind of like those old Pop Cap games) which is quite amazing considering the Softkey version came out in the 90s
