With GPU prices going up for new stuff more and more, is it even worth upgrading to the newest cards? Even reading a little into what others are saying, even if you were to upgrade to them, you aren't getting the same specs as you used to in comparison.

Just for a small comparison, a 4070 has a 192-bit memory interface, while a 3070 has a 256-bit. While the average person probably won't notice the difference before the people that do, why pay for the newest thing if you are getting a small downgrade? Besides 4 extra GBs of VRAM and a bit higher clock speeds, the 4070 doesn't seem worth it to buy for the higher price. With me not knowing enough about the finer details of hardware and seeing what I did with the memory interface being 256-bit better for higher quality games despite the lower amount of VRAM, I would buy the 3070.

Maybe I am just crazy and definitely don't know enough, but it just seems like the specs we used to get and what we get now for the comparing card type are going down. It just feels like, yes, let's add more VRAM but make other parts that may or may not be noticeable to the average person worse.
