There's more than one type of game, and I wanna talk about it! Tell me what types of games you play!

Do you play tabletop games? Not your typical Uno, Monopoly, or Chess. I mean the bigger boxes, like Legendary, Betrayal at House on Haunted Hill, or the Arkham Horror Series, for example. Personally I have the base game plus all expansions of Munchkin Quest, I have Red Dragon Inn and a few expansions of that, and I just recently bought a game I'd been hunting for years: Elder Sign.

Do you instead play a card game? Yu-gi-oh!, Pokemon, Magic: the Gathering? What decks do you play? What format is your favorite and what would you say you are best at in that game? What is your favorite card/archetype?

My answers:

Yugioh: While I don't exactly play the meta, a deck I built years ago that still holds up quite strong is Trains. Night Express Night plus Heavy Freight Train Derricrane is a Turn One XYZ summon into a 3200 ATK beast that can't be touched! And if I had to pick a second favorite, Inzektors. Which were my original obsession as soon as I saw them. Idk why, just the mechanic of equipping monsters and then those monsters gaining new effects was cool to me. Same reason I have a fascination with Crystal Beasts, although I never made a Crystal Beast deck. But in the anime... Definitely rooting for about any Crystal Beast player lol.

pokemon : I reduced my collection to just a singular deck, bases on three particular EX pokemon I pulled from packs, just because I wanted to try something new. So I have a Fighting/Water deck based Groudon, Keldeo, and Whalord. Plus I use a few normal types to pull Basic pokemon from the deck to keep my bench full for a few other heavy hitters in the deck. But I literally built it for fun, I don't know the meta in that game because none of my friends play it. I just have a deck to have a deck.

Magic: Since this is what most of my friends all play, this is the game I put the most time into recently. At last count, I had 38 decks total, almost all Commander decks. Though two of those are Modern and one Pauper. I'm mainly a budget player but I used to always set money aside to purchase the pre-built Commander decks. Well, after about 15 of those plus various collecting over the years along with trades, there's quite a few decks in my collection that you'd never believe were budget. Especially when you face my pride and joy, a mono-blue control deck led by Azami who's entire thing is rushing out or Mind Over Matter so I can have perfect control over every action in the game. Apart from that, my favorite deck currently is Green/Black Golems led by Ich-Tekik and Armix. Favorite card would have to be Sensei's Divining Top. Cheap, easy draw manipulation. What else could any deck want?

I don't play but I collect a lot of Pokemon and Weiss Schwarz cards. I started collecting Weiss Schwarz a few months ago and built up a few cool decks and have a ton of valuable cards and want to learn to play one day. As for Pokemon, I only play the card game online, never played with real cards but I have thousands of cards.

P.S. I thought opening a forum just for trading card games was a good idea.
