Sigh....I think the site is making me pay for uploading all those screenshots last night because I tried to upload a screenshot for the title screen of this game and all I get is the thumbnail of a ripped piece of paper, I mean sure it shows up under latest screenshot when going to play retro games and you select the latest tab but when you go to the game page it's just a black picture....just when I get a major advantage back it's taken away again...booo

Gameplay and Story: So the story actually starts with showing how Arthur learned to read in school and how he got to love reading (so it kind of shocks me a little that he grew up to be a graphic novelist at the end of the series) and he tries to pass it onto DW, but she objects that she already knows how to read, and he tells her to prove to him that she can read ten words and he'll buy her some ice cream (technically she reads fourteen words because otherwise how would she know that Arthur shouldn't be on the grass)

Graphics: So we get something a little different in this game something I didn't want to bring up when I did D.W. the Picky Eater, do you know why some of the text is blue? because when this was released as a book it encouraged to put the stickers over the blue coloured text. Here we click on the blue words and the images appear on their own which basically fits the theming and such, I just noticed their parents aren't in the book even though we hear Arthur's parents at one point.

Soundtrack: There are some songs in between, especially some by some ducks in the park, a good chunk of the time they are cheering for DW, and to be fair we all want DW to succeed but not where she wants to make Arthur suffer (because if she wins the bet they both win because they both get Ice Cream, I mean he tries to be a good brother, but being an older brother to DW is probably as frustrating as being Bart Simpsons Little Sister)

Addictive: I actually do have memories of playing this game in my elementary school days, it's one of those things that make me wish that I was working at my old elementary school instead of the school I'm currently working at but....the school isn't on a bus friendly route (and by that I mean it has a crappy schedule)

Depth: This isn't as long as most Arthur books are in fact this story was designed for easy readers so this would probably explain the blue lettering for images. There's also a couple of minigames where there is a let me write mode which I can't judge I won't touch that, there's I Spy which I played on Hard Mode but even I found that too easy, and there's a reading race board game where you race to the ice cream store, and the funny thing is the number of words on the place card will determine how many spaces you move....if you select the right image to go with what's on the place card

Difficulty: Well it's a storybook game the only difficult part is actually it's not difficult at all this is mostly meant for younger players

Post Review Follow up: I'm actually sorry that this book didn't get made into an episode of the tv series I can easily hear the "Here We Go Again" music (as Zak Wolf on youtube calls it whenever he did an Arthur Poop which has him add the GAME OVER YEAH bit because I guess he found it annoying) at the end of the story

This concludes my review, join me tomorrow for when I review the last game of the Arthur Living Books games, the one that started it all.....(no not Just Grandma and Me) Arthur's Teacher Trouble, now I have to see if anything can be done about the screenshots
