Well it's come to this, I've come to the last game on the primary list of Windows games...well the good news is I found more doing this by starting letter. So this is actually a remake of the game of the same name, I'll explain
Gameplay and Story: So like I said in the intro this is a remake of the game of the same name (it was also released as Leap Ahead Preschool or Let's Start Learning) Mat the Mouse and the Wonder pony that was unlocked from the ORIGINAL version of the game (you don't get to do that in this newer version) are down in the dumps because the park that held the carnival has been quite run down so they decide to fix things up by collecting tickets (rather than Keys in the previous version) oh yeah Mat the Mouse is in the front lines again as a result of all this, there's no real conflict in the game though but this was made before the plot writers stepped in.
Graphics: So Four of the games are recycled, however there are some new scenes added though the animation looks quite good and it doesn't look like it clashes or anything, they even changed Reader Rabbit's look in the ABC to match the era at the time (and they don't disrespect his old look as we see a picture of it on the wall of the kitchen)
Soundtrack: The songs are reused from the previous version but I haven't heard the new one that went with Mouse Match
Addictive: Well I won't lie it's a fun game I actually did play the game when I was 12 (actually I finished the game when I was 12 it was likely closer to just as we were about to get our Windows XP) because I needed something to do if I my mother was going to take forever at her workplace (she works at a daycare) They have games like Shape Shack, ABC Diner, Pattern Parade and Counting Club. Mouse Match is a new one that was added for the remake but I haven't listened to that, one of these days I'm going to make a video for all the songs in each game...which means the stuff from Reader Rabbit Toddler is going to take forever.
Depth: They offer the same four activities from the original version of the game however they have added a matching game which can drag on as we are not allowed to cut off any characters in the Reader Rabbit games, and they also added some extra games that don't effect our progress. I played the game in one sitting two years ago it look me less than 3 hours to finish
Difficulty: Obviously this is meant for preschoolers, literally, but then again I didn't have alot of access to computers before pre-school I wish I remembered more of my time playing computer games before the age of 5 but I don't most of them involve floppy disks.
Post-Review Follow up: I actually do like the remake it actually moves around more than the original (even though I have praises for the original version) but it fits with the direction that Reader Rabbit was going at the time before the air ship took over (I won't review those #NotMyReaderRabbit) I kind of wish they had gotten Babs the Beaver and Pierre involved as well as the Owl and Papa and Baby Bear here
This concludes my review, join me tomorrow when I review Alien Tales, and I'm looking forward to that
