Heyo people of Vizzed this is the review that I knew I was going to do for the longest time and at points I wasn't sure would ever happen, It's time for me to review the game that started me on this site in the first place The Legend of Zelda A Link to the Past!

Graphics 8/10 -
The sprite work in this game is top tier work, especially considering how early into the Super Nintendo Entertainment system years this game came out. The colors are very vibrant and you should instantly be able to tell the upgrade that this game is compared to the first game back on the Nintendo Entertainment System.

Sound 8/10 -
The music in this game is simply iconic the Hyrule overworld theme is likely a song most gamers know even if they don't play Zelda games, while the dark world theme is less known and sets a completely different mood to Hyrule's theme it sets the mood perfectly sets you up to know you're in unfamiliar territory. The dungeon themes all do a great job at putting you on edge while going through these challenging traps and puzzles.

Addictive 3/10 -
Rating addictiveness a 3 for A Link to the Past isn't going to win me any popularity contests I'm sure but the number of times I dropped the game for months at a time over the 8 years I played it I just can't rank it as a game I wanna ever play through again I mean if when it was all new and exciting it took me 8 years to finally finish who knows how long it would take a 2nd time.

Story 5/10 - (slight spoilers)
The story is not all that complicated most of it just revolves around you getting items to help you face the antagonist which I don't think is the worst story set up but it could be better too.

Depth 10/10 -
If you didn't grow up in this time period of games you will likely be caught off guard with many of the things you are expected to wander around until you find but I think that's in a way part of the game's charm, it wants you to go out and explore its world to find more items to make your journey easier.

Difficulty 8/10 -
I think this might be the highest difficulty score I've given a game and while I think it can be really hard to play the intended way there are ways that you can make the game easier by going out and finding great optional items that aren't required to beat the game, That said even with those items it won't stop the game from knocking you all around at times so I'd recommend being patient with bosses and dungeons because you'll wear yourself out if you let it all annoy you.

Overall 8/10 -
It feels surreal to be wrapping this review up at one point I honestly considered having this be my last post someday but I decided that I still have a lot to give to this site so that didn't come to pass. This game brought me to this site through my uncle and while he wasn't around when I finished my journey I'm still glad I finally finished it. If your interested in this 2D Zelda game I can highly recommend it as one of the best games on the SNES.
