Heyo people of Vizzed today I've decided to look back on a game I got into just over a year ago that I decided to play based on the music alone and that game is Xenoblade Chronicles 2!

Graphics 8/10 -
This game is easily one of the most beautiful games on the Nintendo Switch the environments are so easy to get lost in the sheer beauty of it all I mean they managed to make a desert look stunning! What more could I possibly ask? The character models are all up to date with what I'd expect from a game on the switch.

Sound 10/10 -
Before I dive into the topic of the soundtrack I first wanna say that this might not be the fairest 10 I've ever given in a section of a review with the constantly repeated lines but I found them hilarious so it didn't impact my enjoyment of it and if you disagree... "I like your attitude" minus the repeated lines the voice actors do a good job with their lines and I appreciate the effort of having the people of different titans having different accents. That said the soundtrack is amazing the first song I wanna draw attention to is the default battle theme which is straight up one of the best battle themes I've ever heard I love the slow build up to the chorus of the song which is timed in a way where you will hear it a lot throughout the game right as you start taking down the enemy in front of you. I've decided to only limit myself to talking about 2 songs this time around cause otherwise I would end up talking about most of the soundtrack so for my 2nd choice I've decided Counterattack is the song I have to talk about. Counterattack is a song that basically exists to be epic anime fight scene music and it does it's job wonderfully throughout the game every time the song played I knew it was a scene I would not soon forget. The songs for each of the Titan's you explore in this game fit super well and really add to the mood when you explore each location.

Addictive 7/10 -
I think the biggest point for the game's addictiveness is how memorable the dialogue can be and it just kind of stays with you long after you've finished the game. Something else worth pointing out is the gacha mechanic that can be fun to use to get different blades usable in combat but don't worry the gacha isn't used to get people to spend more money on the game or anything like I think it's just in the game for people who like the idea of gacha's but don't wanna go bankrupt playing one.

Story 7/10 -
I don't really wanna talk about the story because I don't wanna spoil it but I can say the characters are all charming and enjoyable. The only thing that really stopped me from rating it higher is parts of the late game where I felt like the way they handled some things didn't really feel like the best choice but I still overall quite enjoyed the story and had moments of it play out in my head for weeks after I finished the game.

Depth 9/10 -
The environments in the game are huge and have lots of secrets that you can discover, along with mini side quests you can choose to complete for more experience. I often would find myself getting sidetracked to go exploring and seeing what I could end up finding, whether that be treasure, a heart to heart conversation, collectible items, or the location's unique monster. The unique monsters add a lot of fun and an optional challenge to the game since you almost never have to fight any but the choice to challenge yourself is there if you want a mini super boss challenge since the unique monster will usually be a bit over leveled compared to everything else in the area.

Difficulty 5/10 -
I think a lot of the difficulty in the game would honestly come from how bad the game's tutorials are at properly explaining the game's mechanics to the point where after 2 playthroughs and reading and watching several guides I'm still not 100% sure I understand everything about the system. When you do understand the system I would say most of the game should be just challenging enough to have you worried but not hard enough where you should constantly have to level grind to stand a chance.

Overall 8/10 -
This is without a doubt one of the best JRPGS on the Nintendo Switch if you like some anime in your RPG you should be able to enjoy this game. Now if you don't like overly complicated poorly explained systems and you don't wanna put in the effort to understand you might wanna stay away but I do think the game is worth it for those who choose to understand the gameplay.
