Ah the Lion King you were the greatest thing to ever happen to the Walt Disney Company until Frozen came along (sorry Lilo and Stitch....and Pixar) and Let it Go became the new Hakuna Matata (which could kind of means the same thing in some context, but I'm not going to look too deep into it).

Gameplay and Story: okay there isn't really a story here, basically we are invited to Timon and Pumbaa's soon to be franchised Jungle Arcade (boy I sure hope they had better luck than DisneyQuest did and I kind of get they were probably still living in their little paradise before moving to Pride Rock full time in Lion King II) and I neglected to mention that this is likely based on the Timon and Pumbaa cartoon series that premiered a year after the Lion King came out because of course a tv series was going to come out of the Lion King.

Graphics: Everything is 2D animated here and this gets bonus points from me.

Soundtrack: So we have a perfect jungle sounding soundtrack here, and well, have you ever asked yourself why is it that Ernie Sabella is always available to voice Pumbaa and yet Nathan Lane has only reprised his role as Timon in the films? I mean I get that Lane had sort of a bigger role than Sabella did and would rather do stage work or something like that I don't know what the story is.

Addictive: I would have gotten a kick out of this if I was under the age of ten like really basically anyone that had the Lion King as their jam back in the day would have loved this.

Depth: well again it depends on how long you play for but all the games in the game are based on standard arcade fare you get a Frogger parody here, Puyo Puyo there (think Dr.Robotnik's Mean Bean Machine) and of course a shooter, a pinball, there's 5 mini games here. Also there are some point and click areas.

Difficulty: yeah this isn't a hard game at all unless you're not good at certain games (yeah I hadn't known how to do Puyo Puyo either before doing Mean Bean Machine).

Post review follow-up: so the last time I played this, I played this in correspondence to the live action Lion King movie that was coming out the same week (because of course Lion King was going to get a Live Action remake, but I kind of wish they adapted a little more from the stage musical which I sadly haven't seen it won't come to Winnipeg for some reason and I guess it's too complicated for a local production but even a local production was able to pull off Avenue Q) so you're probably wondering why am I giving it a low rating? well I haven't really had a reason to go back to it except for when Live Action Lion King came out

This concludes my review, sometime later today I shall review You Don't Know Jack for DS because today a review will count for Double CP points (if might as well make up for the fact that I don't have a lot to say in this one. and since I cannot post a referral link I might as well post the gameplay here.
