So once again we have a game that was based on the book but again also strays from it in more ways that one so Spoiler Alert.

Gameplay and Story: The game is based on the book Whispers in the Fog This time we see Nancy at Snake horse Harbor in Washington State (not in California as suggested in the book), where Nancy is meeting up with a friend of George's. When she arrives at Katie's boat is appears that someone had vandalized it, cut the power, smashed the GPS device (no GPS no Kayaking), Nancy goes into town to see if she could get a GPS from someone who happens to be running for harbor master (but not until she does some tasks like pass a written test or bring him a male Dungeness crab, I have sadly managed to catch my share of the female ones that got me kicked out of the game. Also STUPID CRIMINAL ALERT a business card was left at the scene of the crime and it belongs to the person that runs the marine institute, which is ironic, in the book he was actually just an innocent bystander that was trying to buy Katie out, not a smuggler, yep, for once the book culprit and the game culprit are not the same. Oh yeah did I mention that this vandalism has something to do with a killer whale that suddenly showed up in the Harbor? we eventually learn that the whale isn't wild, not an orphan, and is involved with the smugglers.

Graphics: So this is the last game where the franchise has the border they started with and the enlarged text box and the tool kit, Shadow Ranch will have a new big gameplay screen, a new phone, the notes and checklist are merged, and the tool kit has it's own button (I don't think I brought this up when I reviewed Shadow Ranch though). Also the graphics have kind of been the same as the preceding games, however the movement of the characters in the game eventually improves as the series goes on.

Sound: Again we have a game with a soundtrack that fits theming, like a maritime theming, am I the only person that has noticed that at least ONE track from the game sounds like Carnival of Animals, we gotta get some PC soundtracks on this site, ah well until we get that here's the music I'm talking about here

Addictive: Everything about the game kept me coming back, I really liked doing the clamming activity.

Depth: So unlike most games in the series this game takes place over the course of a day, and looking at that bunker on Katie's boat was kind of soothing as I had just recently returned from the week long trip to BC and it kind of reminded me of the trailer we stayed inside when we were visiting my dad's cousin.

Difficulty: This game has had it's difficult moments but again I originally played this back when I was having a constant blue screen problem with my computer, and boy this game has one of the most intense endings ever, you have to avoid capture on a smuggling freighter in order to confront who you initially thought the culprit but of course not all as it appears to be. The age range for these games is usually Ten and up.

Post Review follow-up: The game was released in 2003 and I first played in August 2005, I can't wait til I hit Ghost Dogs at Moon Lake at least I'll have plenty to talk about there since I'll have quite a story to tell.

This concludes my review, join me tomorrow when I review *goes through the windows pc game pages* no, no, YDKJ Snack pack is a compilation and I haven't played all the games yet, *keeps checking* why are there so many duplicates? oh found one, You Don't Know jack Volume 3.
