As the title of the thread asks how do you personally deal with your favorite sport's offseason? For me that being Football I think I try not to think about it and when I fail I play a football video game try to just enjoy that for a bit thinking about what the next season could be like.

Football season happens in Canada starts not long after the NHL season concludes. Funny thing is, I told someone that I would like to have the NHL return to Winnipeg just so I could have something to keep me tide over until CFL season starts....now it's the other way around. I just hope it live up to everything, we haven't had a CFL game happen since November of 2019 (but it was worth it, because Winnipeg finally ended their Grey Cup drought, something I never thought I would live to see considering that previously I was in diapers last time they won)

without a pandemic they would be a few games in right now, but we're not getting any CFL action until early August. But I have the Olympics to look forward to watching, I'm hoping Canada will do as well as they did in 2016 as they had their best Olympics in 20 years

For me it's baseball and I'm usually fine because baseball usually has the best and biggest offseasons of all sports so it's always very entertaining.

During the 2021 off-season alone, there were two of the four biggest trades of the last decade, the 3rd largest contract in baseball history, a new team owner who became the richest in the sport, and one of the biggest bidding wars.

Go back to the 2020 off-season and you have another one of the 4 biggest trades, the 2nd largest contract, and one of the biggest sports scandals/controversies of all time.

The 2019 off-season was even crazier because two of the 3 best players were competing for the biggest contract of all time, and the person who got the biggest contract didn't even sign until the end of the off-season, so it was a months long war.

By contracts alone, the last 3 off-seasons had 8 of the 10 biggest contracts in baseball history.

So even though there haven't been any games, the offseasons have been incredibly entertaining.

Well with soccer technically there is an off season with most of the league’s concluding in the spring then like a month or so of no soccer (mls doesn’t count that’s a stupid league). International friendlies and tournaments pop up to help me crave my soccer needs during the “off season” or go to the Mexican league.

As for the Nfl usually I just have to soccer to rely to when NFL is on their offseason

Man I think now I have to think about the possibility of the Winnipeg Jets-less Post season, not unless they get a major kick in the pants for improvement, there's probably going to be a trade before the deadline but I don't know who we're going to end up losing

but then again we've been having revolving door injuries and positive COVID cases it's making me nuts. I get that Helle is adjusting to a new normal in his life (marriage and parenthood) but it shouldn't be affecting his performance

My favorite sports are baseball and American Football. When Football is not on I usually have baseball. But nothing is on in February and the first 3 weeks of March. Thankfully I play baseball video games during the off-season.

Simple: I don't xD

My favorite sport, which is tennis, barely has any off-season at all. The season kicks off strongly in January and well into late November they're still playing on the big tournaments, which basically leaves one month of off-season. Not enough time to miss it, really

Racing seasons start in March and end up between September and December, so that's also a long lasting sport to follow throughout the year. The off-season is hard to deal with, but with diverse news, team presentations and pre-season testing we somehow satiate our thirst.

Then, we have winter sports, which go through November to March. They're basically what keeps me busy when the others are resting, and with relatively little allotted time to do a lot of competitions even two screens may not be enough. I basically follow ski jumping all season long as well as biathlon whenever I can, and select events of alpine skiing (currently only the two great downhills, but I could get to follow all the downhill and giant slalom events).

This year, with the Winter Olympics, it will be even easier to wait for the racing seasons to kick off. So yeah, I really don't have any downtime from sports all year round.

My thoughts didn't age well with the MLB lockout that's been going on. All signings and trades stopped on December 1st and haven't started up again so many of the exciting rumors and deals that I would have expected have never happened so it's been a very stressful 3 months from a sports perspective.

On top of that, spring training would have started by now and not only did they not start, there's still lots of signings left to be done. So even if the lockout were to end within a couple days, there would be a number of effects that would be felt for a month or two.
