I'm currently testing out a new ad. It's been years since I tested out another ad network. This time I'm testing out Value Impression.

I was actually contacted by them and the guy claims that I can make $1500 a month off of their network. I've been kinda skeptical because that's so much higher than my current ad network. Right now I make about $500 a month with Exponential and I've been using them for quite a few years. $500 barely pays for the site fees. I've always suspected that I was making less than I should be but I've had so many issues with other ad networks. Either they've slowed down the site, flagged the site as having malware, or they've had inappropriate ads. If this one is somehow able to pull off what they claim and it has no issues, words can't describe how ecstatic and relieved I'd be because that'd be half of what I need to make in order to work on the site full time again.

They have a variety of ads to choose from and they have a few that I might experiment with in the future, including a video ad which has crazy high payout rates. Here are the sizes I'm currently using:
728x90
970x250
300x250
160x600
300x600
A dynamic "sticky" ad

The ads are only appearing 50% of the time. I don't want to leave my old ad network until I've verified this one is paying good. I also don't want to throw all my eggs in 1 basket yet.

Staff : If you guys notice any issues with the ads, let me know ASAP. To know which ads are appearing for a specific page view, go to the footer of the site and it'll say which ads were being used for the page you're on. It'll be something like this:
728x90:ValueImpression, 970x250:ValueImpression, 300x250:ValueImpression, 300x250:ValueImpression, 120x600:Exponential, 160x600:ValueImpression, 300x600:ValueImpression,

I you had concrete examples of such dimensions (I'm a visual), it would help to see their format. Where would they show up?

The 728x90 ad is the horizontal ad that you'll often find toward the top of the site above the banner links. On some pages it'll also appear somewhere near the bottom.

The 300x250 is the box ad that appears on all game pages and most RGR and VGR pages. It also appears on the forum index page, in threads, and various other pages.

The 300x600, 160x600 and 120x600 ads are tall vertical ads and they usually only appear for guests and they appear to the very left and very right of the site (currently not using 120x600 with Value Impressions).

The 970x250 is massive horizontal ad and it appears only at the top of game pages in the Retro Game Room. It doesn't always appear at its full size, sometimes it'll appear as a 728x90 ad instead.

The dynamic sticky ad is actually called a 'Smart Banner' and it basically tries to find an empty spot on the page and that's where it dynamically embeds itself.

The page footer isn't apparently working properly. Testing it, it showed no ads from ValueImpression despite having a dynamic sticky ad on the bottom left corner of my screen which specifically says ValueImpression above it.

I'll check if I have any issues with these ads. So far I don't really mind, as long as the videos play without audio no surprises or heart attacks will be given xD

If this network can really net you three times what you get from your current one it's totally worth trying it out. Hopefully they won't be empty words.

The video ads would most likely be used as game preloaders. They'd be something that'd play while a game is loading.

At this point, as long as the ads don't have Malware, I'd say you should get whatever is the best monetarily. That should help you in your life and let you invest more back into the site. Hopefully you can get the ball rolling again.

Ads are a nessesary evil, so if it helps you, and doesn't introduce malware, i'm all for it.

Boured : I think with Flash being discontinued, the Flash ads are gone and those were usually the ones that had malware. It happened a few times in the past and while it didn't affect everyone, Google search engine detected it which got me temporarily removed from Google search which is a big deal since most traffic comes from that. There was another time when the site would barely load because of the ads. This is why I've always been so cautious with trying out new networks.

Tbh didn’t know ads pay that much ($500-$1500+) just thought it was minuscule like $100 max for sites Idk. I’m not a nerd

I wanted to share with you though that for some reason I received 2 emails for ad partnership (or buy-out) regarding vizzed.com from one of the ad companies. I just laughed and deleted it though.
