How is everyone's internet during the lockdown? Noticing any issues with downloads or streaming or video chats?

I've not noticed too much of an issue. I downloaded a few things yesterday that were several gigs large and got it pretty quickly (not any faster or slower than I'm used to).

However, I have noticed that video chats and streaming aren't as consistent as they once were. I'm not sure if it is my connection for sure or the people we're chatting with but I have noticed that these are being affected.

I'm not surprised but honestly hopeful that this will result in a better broadband network that can handle this extra activity long term.

I have heard that some streaming services have limited the quality available have been limited down from their maximums because they can't handle all the traffic right now. Thankfully I don't stream much from Netflix or other things like that but I can only imagine how much extra traffic they are getting hit with right now is pushing things to their limits.

I have been getting a whole lot of issues whenever I am streaming between severe lagging, voice cracking, weird pitches with the audio (like it would sound a lot higher pitch than usual), and a bunch of other issues. At first, I though it was my end, but in reality, it's on everyone's ends with an over-usage of data of streaming services, as well as the internet provider.

It's not just streaming getting affected, but when I download anything, what usually takes me like 30 minutes to download, takes me like 3 hours to download.

My internet has actually been much better because I use mobile data and my phone company upgraded everyone to unlimited high speed data for free until May 13th.

My normal plan is 10 GB and then really slow unlimited, slow enough that apps that require internet won't open and images don't load. If I'm not streaming or playing and just using my 10GB for browing and messaging, it only lasts about 18 days. But now I can stream Netflix or play games without having to worry.

I've had some slow patches the few weeks, actually. I mean, it's not like we have a great package or anything. We've got probably the second cheapest service we could get. But it's still been a little slower at times than it used to be, and we're not in a particularly dense area or anything.

I guess it could be attributable to infrastructure. We've had a few windstorms and a couple tornados over the last couple months, so it's possible stuff's shaken loose. Feels like the timing with areas being shut down is too close to be coincidental, though.

Mines been alright, i can't say it's got any faster honestly.

Wouldn't surprise me if internet providers have decided not to limit peoples bandwidth knowing that literally everyone is at home and there's no way no one would notice them doing it.

Mine goes like always, even though we're using it more than ever due to being 4 at home. I've done a few video chats and they work good as they should too.

I haven't noticed the decrease in quality in streaming services over here. We streamed something from Netflix during the first weeks of the quarantine and we're streaming Disney+ a lot during these days with the same quality. And I can tell you it wasn't low to begin with, nor did we have any issues (my lover did have issues when using her phone to watch on TV, but that tends to happen from time to time).

My internet has actually been quite good for the most part. I can only log into my video chat classes online when I'm in my room without the internet hating it. Other than that, most things have been pretty normal.

I've been noticing that while internet quality has stayed around the same over the last couple weeks, a lot of sites and apps have started running better. Some websites and apps have been a lot slower to the point where I had to stop using them, but that was because of strain on their part and not the internet, but things have been a lot smoother on their ends this month.

My ISP is a coop, so it doesn't have any of the nasty side effects of using a huge corporation to bring internet pipes into my house. The connection has been very stable, and just as fast as ever.

The only real thing I've noticed is that I used have my Usenet downloads go during the working day, while I was out of the house, because it can choke your internet connection. That was great while I was actually out of the hosue, but now it stops me from working, so I had to change the times. But that has nothing to do with my connection, and is all about me.

Mine's doing just fine, even if I'm in Utah where our internet is pretty much trash. I'll be lucky to get 2MB download speeds, mostly 1MB.

Though it hasn't been very affected by this whole thing, just the same old internet.

At first the internet was REALLY slow... like maybe in April-May. We had just upgraded too, so it was really annoying to have to deal with that. However, lately it's been back to normal. I can finally stream videos at a good quality now, and am able to play games with friends online. I'm sure part of it is that some of the people in my house no longer have their jobs strictly online and are physically going to them again, so less people around to choke up the connection.
