I assume I am not alone in experiencing "Super Hero Fatigue"; there are just too many damn superhero movies every year. The MCU movies, while usually quite amusing and very high energy, are getting so repetitive that I was actually considering not watching Infinity War. But I did, and I was pleasantly surprised.

As with all MCU movies, the character dialogue and dynamic is fast pace, funny, and enjoyable, but where Infinity Wars really stands out is in the villain, Thanos. So many action movies try hard to make the villains organic, and give them believable backstory... but they usually end up being as forgettable as the other 20 action movie villains that you've seen that year. Thanos, on the other hand, feels like a very serious threat. The audience actually is afraid for the Avengers and friends because Thanos doesn't seem like your ordinary baddie. His motives are also very well exposed.

The other characters were a bit of a mixed bag. Some, like Gomorrah and, Dr. Strange, and even Rocket were strong characters who had enough screen time to create a bond with the audience. Others, like Starlord and Bruce Banner made a worthy effort, but honestly felt like either they just "had" to be there, or in the case of the Hulk, there was a secondary plot line that just felt like it was thrown in.

As always, the effects and action sequences were beautiful and intense. Also,
Spoiler:
killing Loki at the beginning
gave the film gravity, and increased the threat of Thanos.

An epic, fun action flick. 7/10.

I like the review, but I just wanna let you know that the second plot line about Hulk that was thrown in will most likely get resolved in End Game, if I recall correctly from an interview the Russo brothers gave.

I was pretty happy with what Infinity War dis but I really liked the pairing of certain characters more than anything else. Seeing Stark interact with Quill was amazing. Seeing Parker and Strange was hilarious. Seeing the guardians interact with Thor was great.

Lots of great pairings and it made me really excited for all the people who are going to be in Endgame like Hawkeye, Antman, and probably Hulkm
