I remember a thread like this from long ago and wanted to see if others still share terrible memories of being locked out of places. I thought about this because this happened to me right now. In my house but accidently locked out of my room.

Stuck with just my phone, a sofa, and the bathroom for the next 10 hours. My roommate came after like an hour and tried to break into my room for me with no luck. It's been two hours since then and it's so boring.

I can only imagine how bad it must be being locked out outside, in the cold, or with no phone or power.

What about you? What were you locked out of and for how long?

I locked myself out once when I was a kid. I was going to walk our dog and as I was putting the leash on her I put my front door keys on the staircase. Needless to say I forgot to pick them back up so after our nice, fun walk I had to come to the realization that I couldn't enter the house anymore.

Thankfully I was able to get my dog into our garden. I went to my neighbor's house to call my parents and about 30 minutes later my dad showed up.

Never again.

I remember us being locked out of our house for a while in especially cold weather, it wasn't for too long because we luckily got someone who could fit through the window or something like that, and we were inside within maybe 30 minutes. It was really, REALLY cold outside though, so it felt like quite a long time.

I got locked out of my apartment once, but fortunately someone was around to let me in after a few minutes. That's one of the perks of living with fifteen people I suppose, chances are someone will be around.

I also got "locked" out of my room last year, and had to wait in my common room for about an hour. I wasn't actually locked out, but I couldn't go in my room because my roommate's girlfriend was visiting and they were going at it. I also couldn't leave because my shoes were in my room, and I couldn't do work because my laptop was in my room. That was a fun time.

I recall this one time where we were locked out of the house, so my mom smashed the garage window and made me climb in. I mean, it worked, and I honestly found it pretty fun. Hope we get locked out again soon.
