You know, sometimes, you have people that predict a lot of video game announcements, rumors, and fake leaks, and people has done this since, well, since the Magnavox Odyssey, and it still contenues to today... This begs the question, what was the dumbest thing you have ever heard when it comes to a rumor and/or fake leaks in the world of video games.

To me, and it is pretty obvious that the entire Pokemon series has been a subject to a lot of these phony "leaks" and "rumors" since the beginning in 1996, and especially since Generation 5 with people predicting "Pokemon Grey". But now especially since the release of Pokemon Sun and Moon, and before the announcement of Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon, a lot of people keep saying that "Pokemon Stars" is going to be the next Pokemon game, which isn't going to happen, and now with Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon is released and both Nintendo, Game Freak, and The Pokemon Company, officially announced that Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon will be both the last games for the Nintendo 3DS and both the last game of Generation 7, which means the next Pokemon games will be on the Nintendo Switch and it will be Generation 8, but there is still people that still say that it's going to be called "Pokemon Stars" which does not make any sense.... But knowing the Pokemon fanbase, this is normal.

What about you, what are the dumbest predictions, rumors, and/or fake leaks you have ever heard in the world of video games.

The Pokemon fanbase has a spot of its own in the field of dumb predictions and fake leaks. We just have to see how many Generation 8 starters have been "leaked" already and how this episode has repeated itself in the last Generations.

I don't really recall anything beyond the Pokemon fanbase, at most those supposed analysts that predicted the PS5 to launch in 2018, which Sony has already confirmed won't happen. We all knew it was too soon for them to upgrade to an entirely new console, even if it was technically a Playstation 4.5 so as to not inherently force users to upgrade. Time will say if those defending a 2019 release date are also proven wrong, that theory could have a bit of logic supporting it but it also has noticeable flaws.

I heard there was supposed to be a Final Fantasy 7 remake.
Like that will ever happen... 

I'd say people claiming that the PlayStation 5 is coming out next year, when realistically they might be working on the PS5, but it's not coming out in 2019. I'd say more realistically 2021. Maybe 2020.

You know, since Super Smash Bros has been announced, it has became a non-stop leak factory, just mentioning the 63 characters that are already in the game, they have been people that said that they are "leaks" of about 100 additional characters being added in Super Smash Bros, and some of the examples are..

Waluigi (Seriously, he's already an Assist Trophy, how can a character be both a main fighter and an Assist Trophy in the same game)..
Geno (From Super Mario RPG)
King  K Rool (From the Donkey Kong Country series)

*Both Geno and King K. Rool, I can see them introduced as either at launch or as DLCs, so I wouldn't be surprised if they were added in though.


To leaks that makes me want to say "What kind of stuff were these people on, when they so called "saw" these leaks" like Goku, Banjo Kazooie, a Minion (from Despicable Me), Crash Bandicoot, even a freaking Tetris Block.... Stop it, get some help.


But of course, if it wasn't for these stupid predictions, rumors, and fake leaks, they sure wouldn't be pure stupidity on the internet, or maybe these leaks proves a lot of entertainment when you realized how dump those people that created those leaks and rumors became.

IgorBird122 : I'd say 90% of the people going on about Waluigi are doing it as a internet meme, because that's technically what he's become, and it's quite funny I think. Although I think Waluigi needs an official platformer, that would be fun as hell I think.

I do hear a lot of ridiculous fake leaks/rumors for Smash, some are saying that Master Chief is going to be in it, the day that happens is the day Microsoft eats dirt, and I highly doubt that will be happening, unless Nintendo buys the Halo rights.

IgorBird122 : I don't think they'll be DLC for this Smash. If there is, I'll be a bit surprised, but not too much. Mario Kart 8 Ultimate Edition or whatever it's called was remade for the Switch, and it included all of the DLC. That kind of sounds like what is happening with Smash Ultimate. 

HeavyMetalGamer : I don't think the PS5 is coming out for awhile. There's not enough new technology to make one, in my opinion. Now, I could be wrong, but I think the PS4 Pro is 4k capable. If not, I could see a new iteration of the PS4 coming out, to compete with the XBOX ONE X, but I would think it would have already been done if that's the case. Also, Microsoft has been said that the XBOX ONE X will be thee last Microsoft console, but that future hardware updates would be available, as needed. (or something along those lines). 
The worst I see happening is MAYBE around E3 2020 leaks start happening for a "PS5" and a new "XBOX", which I predict will essentially be upgradable consoles, similiar to a custom PC.
