I think everybody can agree that the hit Netflix series Stranger Things has become a pop culture phenomenon and smash hit. Like every big TV series that features Supernatural and Sci Fi Elements, people are always wondering what will happen next and if someone will live or die. Another thing people mention or ask is, should Stranger Things receive a Spinoff series. The Spinoff series wouldn't have to take place in Indiana and plus considering the nature of the Upside Down and the Eldritch beings inhabiting it, it wouldn't be surprising if the spinoff became a anthology series that took place in different settings.

What do you guys think will happen to the main characters in the upcoming seasons and should there be a spinoff series?

I'm always iffy about spin-offs with shows. It is so rarely any good compared to the original content.

However, if they were to do one I would want either a prequel delving into the original experiments that the Mom of 11 was a part of or something totally "unrelated" but still related.

I think a lot depends on how much backstory the next couple of seasons give us. They've already introduced us to the fact that there are other kids from the lab that have powers and will probably incorporate more of them as the series progresses. At least that is what I'm expecting to happen. I haven't read anything that confirms this.

So, depending on the amount of backstory a spin-off series dedicated to earlier experiments in Indiana might be derivative. It might make more sense and be more interesting to do something totally separate but connected. Kind of like Cloverfield has done so far. It's all based in the same "universe" and the events are connected in ways but no one story follows the others.

Either way I would be interested in more stuff from this universe as long as the people involved stay on for the most part to work on it.

I would love to see a spinoff involving the other test subjects that came before Eleven. If they are gonna do a spinoff series, I think California would be the perfect setting. You gotta think about it: some of the best known horror movies/stories take place in California and for all we know some other Psychic kids live down there. There might even be a portal to the Upside Down

I wouldn't care for a full spinoff, if they wanted to do a much smaller series that was like 1 episode that did different events from the past or similar events happening elsewhere, I would love that.

I heard at one point that originally Stranger Things was supposed to be an anthology series. Basically it would have various events happening in different towns but would still take place in the 80s. I could see a spinoff series still taking place in the 80s but in different towns and maybe cities. They don't even have to use The Upside Down, it would be slightly interesting if they did Aliens as well, especially considering that the series was partially influenced by Conspiracy theories.

New teaser for Season 3 released! Looks fun.

To be honest, I was kinda hoping the show would be an anthology with each season being a completely new story. Season 1 was amazing all throughout, but Season 2 was here and there. I liked Sean Astin, the army of Demogorgons, and I thought the last 3 or so episodes were great. That being said, I think Eleven is overrated and the whole 1980's theme feels a lot more forced on you and obvious in the 2nd season. I also thought Max was a mediocre actress and I didn't like her character. Still excited for S3, though.

Although I rarely use Netflix (Only whenever I want to watch some movies here and there), but during those rare times I watch Netflix, I have heard about the Netflix show "Stranger Things" (mostly by advertisement), but personally, I won't be watching it, it looks alright, but not really much to my cup of tea.

Although I am one of those guys that might get interested in whatever and I may end up watching it though, mostly when I get time to watch it.

That season 3 trailer reminds me of the Saturday morning cartoon commercials. I wonder if a portal to the Upside Down will open up at the new Mall that just opened. Because first it was that facility and then the school, and now it's the Mall.
