This is a good question.

I wish I had a better answer, but the place in my head changes constantly, dependent on what I think is most important at that particular point in time. In just the past month alone, I've probably had four or five places I've imagined in my head to escape from reality for a little while.

My current place (and one of the recurring ones that come back every now and then, probably a central "place" if you will) is underneath the sea. Surrounded by nothingness, and quiet, just like I need right now. I'm cut off entirely from the world, forgotten by those above, so I can just stop existing for a while. The cool thing with being underwater is eventually I need to come up for air, and that's how I break out of this place.

Though I imagine I could stay down there forever, with the power of my mind, I know that it's not a good idea subconsciously. That's probably why I come up for air in the end.

One thing I've been daydreaming for a while is, like the user above me posted, my current house or a future one where I am together with my beloved one, probably even with a couple of kids. I have a totally different view over relationships compared to my friends, so I dream about this to clear my mind and fully focus on what I really want for my future so my friends and their antics don't stand in the way. I tend to lower my guard when we're out, mostly due to alcohol taking my shyness away allowing myself to be influenced but also making me unable to stay firm and be a lone wolf when the pack is united.

Other than that, my only place would be where my body is currently staying. I have no problem in having my mind drift away as my body lies still to clear my thoughts and plan a schedule. I don't have to imagine myself anywhere else because I live for the moment, though I do tend to imagine myself in a place I'll go to in the near future to prepare myself, for my shyness usually doesn't allow me to do much if I haven't "practiced" a bit before.

 For my special place, I will have to rely on literary imagery rather than your methods because frankly, the images don't exist!  At least, I haven't found anything close.

 I imagine the world as I would like it to be. Every crisis would be averted because superior technology has provided everything even the poorest among us needs for basic living.

 The latest line of self-driving cars made of bubble holograms reinforced by soft-force-fields. They reach 400 km/h, avoid collisions at that speed by micro adjustment[and constant communication with other self-driver pods] and bounce off like a cartoon character when they strike anything. Struck object is affected as though a literal bubble popped against it. No significant impact ever. Best part? Occupant feels nothing. Holo-entertainment keeps us amused while the space-warp construct figured in nullifies G-force and discombobulated spinning action. Like sitting in an easy chair at home. That's just one idea. I have more. Later.

Edit : Holo-force technology could even be made as non-visible projections. I imagine people would not mind a skin conforming soft-force-field projected on them that moves with them, wherever they happen to go. This apparatus can prevent physical harm from without, improve stabiity to reduce tumbles, cushion all impacts received [blocking up to high calibre gunfire thus making guns obsolete at last], seal out airborne and tactile chemical, biological and physical pathogens and all while allowing normal physical touch sensations [that people so love for themselves], food, drinks, pleasant aromas, water, soap, clothing, shoes and accessories to be unaffected by the protective barrier.

 Energy crisis? Holo-force products use the directly absorbed power of light - not converted into electricity which causes energy to disperse and be wasted in the transformation - to power up. Their battery absorbtion net is part of the projection and this serves dual function as the unsolidified battery storage itself. Light power is contained by, well, light. So long as the sun provides some light every day, we will never not be able to power hyper-efficient Holo-force products which will replace every device and tool on the market. No longer will we need metal mined from our great mother Earth to make what we need. Holo-force items will function as good as anything and once we are done with them, we don't have to put them away. We could just issue a voice command and see them revert back to formless light.

Holo-net can send signals at the speed of light. Our current internet becomes defunct, notoriously slow compared to the other newer net, and eventually comes into poor repair from disinterest and lack of dollars flowing into a dead technology. Newer connected devices are made of touchable holograms. You can set them to be cloaked, maybe hover completely still beside you at you walk or sit or stand or lay. Best part, no one else can touch them. The Holo-net connected command pads made of light, will folow voice commands and lock out the influence of anyone who does not share your precise personally reflected light pattern. Even identical twins and exact doubles can be told apart by Holo-force. Smart-phone sales will predictibly turf and all phones will be known as an old person thing.

Food shortage? Famine? Holo-force innovates in using light constructs to manipulate molecules. Using a very concise utility of Holo-multi-tools, nutritious food can be made out of any materials. Need more nutrients? No problem. Holo-chef will incorporate whatever you say your nutritional needs are for the meal into what ever you wish to eat. Want to eat authentic tasting oreos that are constructed entirely out of broccoli matter? Knock yourself out. Be healthy and eat what you want at the time. The raw materials would not even have to be made of either of these things. It just takes a shorter prep time to make food out of food. Nobody starves. The sand in Africa can be completely molecularly remodeled into five-star cuisine wares if requested. Yummy.

 Just think of the miracle cure applications. Non-invasive, no recovery time treatments at Holo-spitals get patients fitter than fiddles within minutes. No charge. Why would we charge people to live?

That's all I remember about my ongoing fantasy future for but I am always getting that neat stuff stuck in my brain. The future world may be Holo but that's what makes it awesome.

My spot is a small stretch of golden sand nestled between a pair of cliffs.  The sun burns down and a nice offshore wind courses over the beach and into the dense trees behind us.  A few larger trees overhand the beach and my side of the towel is in the shade.  My wife's side of the towel has full sun for her to stretch out.  There are no rocks in the water and ankle-biter waves ebb and flow to meet us.  There are no sounds other than nature and I drift off to nap, Bud Light Lime can cuddled like a pillow.
