Super Caesars Palace Review!
Hey there guys, it's mgharper94 back again for another review on another SNES game. This time it will be Super Caesars Palace for SNES and might I say, this will test your luck but is this truly a good gambling game that the SNES has to offer? Let's find out! Like Street Fighter 2, I'm making a review based on what I've played on the physical copy of the game. So, let's get into the review shall we?

Graphics 8.0: The graphics aren't bad for the early 90's, they really managed to put 3 stories of the casino in place for you to explore. I can't really complain since as good as the system is, it does have limitations on what it can do and I can understand why there's not a whole arm in place for the hand since it would only be covering part of the screen and what you'd want to see.

Sound 8.0: Can't really expect much for the sound in the game, everything from card sounds to the sounds on the slot machines are there but to some people I'm pretty sure the music can get a little bit annoying when in the casino for too long. The title screen music is really good in my opinion though, has a nice catchy ring to it.

Addictiveness 3.0: While gambling does have its addictions, it's hard to come back to this game after quite some time since you're doing the same thing over and over again. The other thing amusing when you're not gambling is going the opposite escalator, which I'm kinda guilty of doing myself.

Story 0.0: There really isn't any kind of story to it, all you're doing is going to a casino in hopes to win big and become a high roller. The game ends when you either hit 1,000,000 dollars or go bankrupt. (at least from what I've heard and experienced)

Depth 7.0: The game itself has a variety of games to choose from. It has things like black jack, slots, video poker, roulette, horse betting, scratches, and many more ways to gamble and spend money. It's a good game to pass the time without having to spend real money and go broke... Read the rest of this Review

Donkey Kong Country Review (SNES)
Hey, hey, hey! I'm bringing another review on another classic retro game and this time for an SNES classic by the name of Donkey Kong Country! This title in particular pushed the boundaries of the SNES of its time so, let's see how it did overall shall we?

10 GRAPHICS: The graphics of this game is SPECTACULAR for the SNES of its time! Every detail, every shadowing, even the characters look and move so smoothly in this title. You can even see King K. Rool's scales on his body and shine!

10 SOUND: The sound in this game is also awesome for its time! The music and sound effects in the game were like from a CD, even the final boss music is phenomenal!

7 ADDICTIVENESS: Well, the game is fun and it's more fun if you have a friend over for a co-op session or a head-to-head competition but if you beat the game, there really isn't much left and so, you'll just be playing the same game over again with the same ending. Not really much with the addictiveness part of the game as far as secrets go.

7 STORY: Well, the story of it is this: you're Donkey Kong who's going to go defeat King K. Rool because he's kidnapped Diddy Kong and has taken your banana hoard. It's not much but it's good to get a game going.

8 DEPTH: As far as how much the game offers, it has a ton of secrets no doubt! In almost every stage, there will be a secret room or a bonus stage offering rewards or an animal buddy for help. It's best to search the walls with a barrel or have your partner ready for action for all those hard to reach places.

8 DIFFICULTY: This game does and will get hard on you as you go along your way to make it to King K. Rool. Every challenge of every stage will have its moments and defeats if you're not careful. It's best to take a safer way rather than a risky way before jumping off a ledge or aiming a manual firing barrel.

So, that's it for this review on another classic game! Overall, this game is a terrific game to play fo... Read the rest of this Review
Street Fighter II - The World Warrior

Street Fighter 2: The World Worrior
Hey everyone, been awhile since I did a review on a retro game. This time I will be doing a review on an arcade hit from the 90's, Street Fighter 2: The World Warrior! Now Some people have their different opinions on which Street Fighter 2 is the best depending on how many characters there are, how fast the fighting is, etc. For this review I will share my opinions based on what I played on the physical copy that I have so, let's get down to it!

GRAPHICS: For the most part, the graphics are pretty decent for it being on SNES, the game is colorful in its own way, the characters have just a little bit of detail, and almost every character portrait is the same on the game over screen but some are kinda changed due to the censorships in nintendo's hardware. It's pretty good overall to the arcade comparison though!

SOUND: Okay, the sound in the game is nice, not perfect but nice. You have sounds from Ryu's Hadoken shout to your character's cry on the game over screen, but I just think that there is just some sounds missing if not kinda edited in my opinion.

ADDICTIVENESS: What can I say, the only thing that pretty much changes in the game is the characters that you're going to face and pretty much fighting your friends in proving who's better. Other then that there isn't really much that'll keep you coming back for more.

STORY: There isn't really a story in the game as far as I know of.

DEPTH: There isn't really that much in this version of Street Fighter 2. You only have only either 8 or a little more characters to choose from, and there is a little more fighters than what you get to fight, that I'm not really going to get into at this moment. You'll basically have to find that out for yourself if you have never played the game before or just have never gotten that far.

DIFFICULTY: Well, just like every fighting game, the difficulty gets easy at first then it gets harder as you progress. Not really a big surprise but... Read the rest of this Review
Doom II

DOOM 2 GBA
It's that time where the first game in the series becomes so successful that there has to be a sequel to the franchise. This is the case for the first DOOM for PC which made a sequel called DOOM 2 which was also ported to GBA. Is this version truly a good version to the PC classic, or is it just one of those types of versions that give a poor reboot? Let's find out shall we.

GRAPHICS: The graphics are pretty good overall, there has been an improvement to the looks of the levels and weapons compared to the first game. Though the monsters look a bit painted or blurred, this is only to smooth things out rather than being too pixelated. Overall a good job on detail except for the blood, the blood was sadly, replaced from red to green.

SOUND: The sound in the game as far as I know has everything. The shotgun still has its shotgunie sounds and the pistol still has its pew pew sounds from the PC version. Like I said in the first DOOM review, there could be some sounds missing I'm not quite sure
.
ADDICTIVENESS: Now just like the first DOOM, who doesn't like going back over and shoot things over again along with finding the secrets they missed along the way? Yep, all the secrets and weapons from the PC classic is all here too, from the super shotgun (double barrel), to the BFG 9000, and from those secrets in the very start of the game, to all those that have some hidden items  and weapons.

STORY: As far as I know, there isn't a story mentioned in this version as well, basically the title says it all.

DEPTH: Now as far as this game has to offer, this game has a lot of secrets and weapons for you to find and get as well as a lot of levels to go through to get them. Not sure if this version's missing any stages as I've never got that far in this version. Pretty cool stuff in this version though, maybe even the option to play 2 player mode with a link cable (physical copy).

DIFFICULTY: Now just like the first DOOM, the g... Read the rest of this Review
Tony Hawk\'s Pro Skater 2

Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 2
Do you all remember the original Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 2 for the Sony PlayStation, do you like it so much that you just wanna have it wherever you go? Well, that's what this version of Pro Skater 2 brings you. But is it truly a good port of the PlayStation classic? Let's find out shall we.

GRAPHICS: For the most part when you first get into the game, you'll notice that the skaters are made by polygons and not detailed sprites thus making them smooth. Pretty good for a handheld port for the most part.

SOUND: The sound in the game for what I can tell has a good accurate feel from the PlayStation version, sure no actual music, but some catchy tunes while you're skating. All the sounds from when you bail to having the skateboard sounds is pretty much all here.

ADDICTIVENESS: There is a lot to do in the game especially trying to try to beat you or your friend's score on a certain level, but I'm sure it can get kinda repetitive when playing this too much, especially when nothing really changes.

STORY: Well, there really is no kind of story in the game, you're just skating around trying to be the best skater there is.

DEPTH: As far as depth goes, this game has quite a bit to offer. There's a handful of cheats you can use and also a handful of characters, including your friendly neighborhood spidey, Spider-Man (forgive me if I misworded that).

DIFFICULTY: This game can be pretty difficult at some levels, from trying to get the secret tapes, or trying so desperately hard to try to get the high score. The controls may seem pretty difficult to get used to at first but, after a while you can get the hang of it recommended that you experiment on what layout you use. Last thing in the difficulty is that due to the camera angle it can be pretty tough to hit those landings at times, even when you're on a high combo.

This concludes this review of Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 2 for GBA. Overall, this is a pretty good version t... Read the rest of this Review
