Mario Party

A Party of Mario!
Today, I'm going to review the very hated, yet beloved, Mario Party! It's loved since it would be the beginning of countless ports for more than 15 years into the future. Can't believe it is going to be that far into the series of Party games already. Well, we are going to review the one that started it all, and there are some points to go through about the game. So, let's get right into it.

Difficulty: 7
The difficulty can be graded from Easy, Normal, and Hard to the CPU, if you're playing by yourself. There is some difficulty between the maps or boards you play as well from DK's Jungle Adventure, Peach's Birthday Cake, Yoshi's Tropical Island, Wario's Battle Canyon, Luigi's Engine Room, Mario's Rainbow Castle, Bowser's Magma Mountain, to the hidden map Eternal Star, which can only be unlocked if you do a specific requirement. Yeah, the Party game has somewhat of a story, but I guess it doesn't count. I'll tell you when I'm in the Story category. There's also up to 56 mini games, from 4 player free for all, 2 vs. 2, 1 vs. 3, and even 1 player games, it can go pretty much anywhere. It has its share of difficult games as well, depending on what input you do, such as the infamous Analog rotation. It is said that many people sued Nintendo since it severely hurt their child's hands as the skin started to burn off by doing this, and Nintendo gave all of them a special "glove" for them to have to relieve the pain on those games. Besides those, you shouldn't have much problem playing these games.

Depth: 5
The game doesn't have "Depth" per-se, but getting through each mini-game, unlocking everything, and the Mini Game Island optional quest, it has some length to offer. It can take a little bit since it requires you to play each games to get to the very end in a pathway for the Mini Game Island, and for unlocking the mini games for free to play access, you need to play a lot of Adventure Mode and earn coins. The m... Read the rest of this Review

DK Crew in 3-D!
I remember this old game as a kid. It was one of THE most fun N64 games I have ever played besides the Mario games, funny enough. So, the question remains, does it still hold up to this day? Has it aged poorly or well? Let's find out.

Difficulty: 6
The difficulty in the game is pretty laid back, since it is a kids game after all, but it is a challenge to get from one point of the game to the next, due to the requirements for you to beat the game. But that will go to the depth part. Overall, the bosses aren't that hard, getting Golden Bananas are comfortably easy, and everything else is a very fun challenge.

Depth: 9
The game can be a LONG LONG experience and a chore at times, but 99% of it is the requirement to get to the final boss, and that is to collect every single Banana in each area of the game, which can get a little tiresome, but the fun factor is still there collecting it, but the total bananas are 201. Ooooooooh, Banana... Anywho, the game can take a long time to compete, especially if you're a first comer to the game. Yeah, you might lose some interest to it after a while, but the reward is still pretty good, which is the end of the game.

Story: 7
It's what you would be familiar to if you were a big fan of the Donkey Kong Country series, this is the story. The Evil King K Rool is about to blow DK Island off the face of the earth with his giant laser, known as the "Blast O-Matic", since after COUNTLESS times he tried to capture the DK Islands, he wants to destroy it, which is the "if I can't have it, nobody can" and it comically enough, malfunctions, which puts his fortress face to face with the Island, which he cannot move from. Since he has time to kill, he captures DK's Crew, Diddy, Tiny, Lanky, and Chunky Kong, to keep DK from storming towards him so quickly, so he can repair his laser, and to get rid of the dastardly Kongs once and for all. Now DK has to save ... Read the rest of this Review

Ms. Pacman: The Home Game
In this review, I'm going to go to the game that made me fall in love with the Pac-Man persona, and ironically enough, he wasn't even the main character. The game I'm going to review is Ms. Pac-Man for the Sega Genesis. This is one of the early games that brought the arcade style of game to the home console for the public to enjoy. It was one of my first games I've ever owned as well, so let's get right to it, and make a review of an arcade game.

Difficulty: 6
The difficulty can be set before you play with a traditional Easy, Medium, Hard. But even if you pick an Easy mode, the game will get progressively harder and harder as you go through the game. The mazes you go through each level will get more confusing and you will have to think of ways to lure the ghosts away from you and a bunch of other plans depending if you want to get an impressive high score as well, since this is still an arcade game.

Depth: 4
When you break it down, you could play this game for a long time if you're good enough. It isn't really a long game, if you really think about it. After a while, they will run out of mazes, and the cycle will restart or they will do the same one over and over until you get a game over. Once again, it's an Arcade game, and the better you do, the better your score will be, and that's the whole point of the game. Not much to expect.

Story: N/A
There is no story about the game since you're focusing on a high score for ultimate bragging rights, but there is a few cutscenes between Pac-Man and Ms. Pac-Man and how they met and how they get along. Eventually, Pac-Man Jr. comes into play if you can get that far into the game as well. Besides the few scenes, you aren't really treated into a story of eating the dots, sometimes fruit, and avoiding the ghosts for no logical reason.

Sonic Heroes

Sonic Heroes: 3 players, at the same time.
Ah, Sonic Heroes. I remember playing this when I was a kid, to the very end of the disc's life, after it tragically ended when the disc got way to scratched up, and was deemed unplayable, and had to throw it out, and haven't played it until recently, thankfully. Now, that I went through the game again after so many years of mainly away of the game for at least 10 or so years.

Difficulty: 7
The difficulty in this game can vary depending on which story arch that you go through. There's Team Sonic, which goes through the basic game that you'll go through, which I guess is Normal, Team Dark, which has some challenging boss battles in a more extreme environment, which can be the Hard path, Team Rose, which has the shortest adventure, and only goes as far as following Sonic's team, which is basically the Easy pathway, and finally there is Team Chaotix, which has a unique pair of challenges. Instead of going from Point A to Point B, you will go through the entire level in a challenge type of envioronment, whether it is to find an object, detroy all the robots, or what have you, this is a Task type of environment, which can be pretty challenging, since I use to never beat this area as a kid, when I'd get stuck in a loop in the level. Then there's the final area, which we all know is always tough final challenge. So the Difficulty can vary.

Story: 7
There's a LOT of different Story arcs in this game, so let me explain every arch, depending on which group you choose. Team Sonic goes through the same old thing, Sonic has received a note from Dr. Eggman that invites him, and the Sonic Heroes to stop him from taking over the world, creating Robotnikland, and Sonic, Tails, and Knuckles have to stop him as fast as possible. Team Dark starts with Rouge going through a secret area that Eggman hid away, which includes Shadow the Hedgehog, who was killed off in Sonic Adventure 2, previously, being released from what seems to ... Mario & Luigi - Superstar Saga

Superstar Saga: Amazingly Awesome
The game that I have played more than I ever should have. This is Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga. The game itself is quite amazing, since it is the first RPG element that isn't Paper since Super Mario RPG, which needed a sequel that was long overdue. The game itself is not what you expect from a regular Mario game either, just like Mario RPG. You face a different threat that isn't Bowser whatsoever. Cackletta, the Beanish Witch, threatens the Mushroom Kingdom by stealing Princess Peach's voice, not Peach herself. But that's plot, and we'll get into that later. So now, let's get right into the game with all of the details in between. Here we go!

Difficulty: 5
The difficulty is what you would expect from a Mario game in general. The game's puzzles are not too tough to figure out, the game's enemy attack patterns aren't ridiculous to figure out, and overall, the difficulty is very comfortable. The game isn't too tough that it'll kill the fun of it, and you won't breeze through it without thinking twice, either. This all depends on how you rank in the RPG element. You can be underpowered for the situation, or overpowered for the situation. It all depends on how you deal with the enemies you encounter throughout your journey. If you fight them, you'll get more powerful in one way or another, or you can ignore them, and try to plow through the area to get to the plot. It's up to you.

Depth: 7
The game is anything BUT a game that you can beat overnight. It's a pretty lengthy game, and has a few false finishes as well, if you know what I mean. The game makes you think it should end, but it doesn't. More plot. Anyway, the game's length in full is probably worth about 3 or so days, if you play it non-stop. Maybe 2 days if you know what you're doing. This is an RPG after all, folks. You won't get it done overnight, it never works like that. We have a lot of worlds, a lot of bosses, and a lot of side-missions as well lo... Read the rest of this Review
Sonic the Hedgehog - Genesis

Sonic Genesis: Oh boy..
This game, though. Oh, man. This game I had to force myself to make a little review for. I wanted to make one back when I was looking for a mere Review Maker staff position, but couldn't get around to it since the game is so bad. This, in my opinion, is one of the WORST games that Sonic has ever starred in, without a doubt. The game was a glorified easy money project, compared to the other hand held projects Sega gotten, and now I'm going to exploit my opinions of the monstrosity of a port. Now, let's dive right into this game.

Difficulty: 10
Firstly, I do think that the difficulty has both eased itself, but more so gotten really unfair, and that one reason is screen crunch. It is horrendously bad, and more often than not, you will not see anything that will come towards you, and that is a pain in every zone in the game. All of them. Especially in some bosses like in Labyrinth Zone, which you don't know what's going to hit you, Eggman or spikes coming right at you, and this can be rage enduring. It kinda ruins the game on it's own.

Depth: 4
The Depth isn't really changed from the original game, so I didn't really change much, and it is just as short as the original. Just a handful of zones, but the slowdown the game has makes the game a bit longer than it should. I believe that the stuff that they did is pretty much exactly the same thing as you did play it on the Sega Genesis.

Story: 5
Again, the story is the same as the original, Dr. Ivo Robotnik, or Eggman, is gathering critters to have them as robot slaves to have him power up a Death Egg, and Sonic must stop him before he unleashes his weapon of mass destruction. I think the Emerald collecting, which is extremely easy compared to the challenge you had on the Genesis, is quite different. You can get it without a sweat, since it's still plot heavy with Eggman.

Spider-Man

Spider-Man; For Comic Relief
I remember Spider-Man like it was yesterday. I can't exactly say when I really bought the game, but this game had a HUGE chunk of my childhood back when it was at its peak. There were two versions of it, the N64 release, and the PS1 release, which I believe doesn't change the game much, besides the process power. I could be wrong, though, it could be exactly the same game. Anyway, if I had a dollar every time I played this, I'd be richer than Bill Gates. (Give or take, he is pretty rich.) This game brought my curiosity to heroes in general, along with Spidey. But let's get going on the breakdown on the game itself.

Difficulty: 6
Breaking down the way it's tough, it's a straight forward adventure game with no real "puzzles" that would require difficult skills. The main difficulty is the settings itself, which sets to "Kid Mode", to Hard. Kid Mode is pretty much "Very Easy" in some games out there, and then it goes the traditional Easy, Normal, and Hard lists, which everyone can guess how they vary. The levels themselves aren't anything special when it comes to difficulty, straight forward game that sometimes "Get from Point A to Point B", to "Get to Point B before time runs out" to "Run from *insert threat attacking Spidey here*. The bosses themselves aren't too hard, depending on the difficulty set. Sometimes you'll have to think about the attack pattern, to you'll beat the ever-loving snot out of them. Sometimes in some areas, there are actually Environment attacks you can use, like Rhino's match with Electric beams, to Carnage's Sonic Bubble in the middle of the room. Overall, the game brings mostly an easy way to the challenge. Again, depending on what you do, it's either a tough challenge, or a breeze without having a second thought. On my side, it's not bad.

Depth: 5
Not a long game at all. There's a few modes to play in, but besides the main story mode, there's a mini-game events, some level sele... Read the rest of this Review

Madden NFL 25: Next Gen of Football
The next game in the conversion to the next generation of Xbox One, and PS4. Whoever has those consoles right now either is filthy rich, or sold the shirts off their backs to even get the console itself. $500 on launch is too much for my sense in gaming. Anyway, as you can tell, this isn't the "new" version, it's the game on the PS3, but it doesn't take anything away from the game or the presentation, it's still a really fun game, along with a pretty game to even look at. Let's go ahead and break it down, shall we?

Difficulty: 8
The difficulty itself is, to your guess, adjustable, therefore it can vary on opinions on how hard the game can be. It can be a pretty good challenge to a beat-down on every opponent you have. There are also Sliders you can adjust your opponents skills to. The sliders also can adjust your skills as well, if for some sort of reason you want to challenge yourself to becoming skill ridden, or way overpowering. I myself found a way to cheat the game badly, and set a saved sliders.(that I also shared on the community downloads as well) Anyway, the difficulty settings go from Rookie, to Pro, to All-Pro, to All-Madden, which I believe is next to impossible to beat in All-Madden. I've been surprised before, however. In the end of the day, it is pretty fair to me when it comes to difficulty. Its toughness brings a fun challenge, or to take out my anger on an unsuspecting team. It all evens out for me. It's pass/run blocking has been redone as well, along with running itself, with the new moves like spin, juke, stiff-arm, etc., it's been all repackaged and redone to be used more effectively, and it really helps the run become more effective, and its more fun to use instead of plain running.

Depth: 6
I wouldn't call this game long at all. Yeah, there's a lot of interesting new features, such as improved game mechanics, like the running I stated earlier. Its not that long of a game depending o... Read the rest of this Review
WWE 2K14

WWE: 2K's Takeover
It's about time for myself to have a review on a VGR game, no? So, this game is called WWE 2K14, the newly bought franchise of Take Two(2K) from THQ's long line of WWE/WWF games, after THQ itself became Bankrupt half way through the game development. They were able to finish the game, and 2K took the rights to the game, and this was released on October 29, 2013.(Internationally around November 1st), so enough small talk about the game itself. Let's begin breaking down the game.

Graphics: 8
To begin to discuss, let's literally, LOOK. at the game itself, graphics-wise(thanks, Sherlock) and the game's models look similar to the previous game's in WWE 13, which isn't a bad thing, really. Yeah, there's plenty of wrestlers who really don't look correct, and could be improved. Some characters are out of date to the date it was released(ala Daniel Bryan still doing the "NO!" thing, before Team Hell No), but that's the pain of being developed before they alter their character, but besides that, the wrestlers are spot on where I really enjoy playing them. I can go on for a while longer on the character models themselves, both Legends and Current Era, but let's talk about the arenas. They switched up with having the original arenas of today, including Raw, Smackdown, Main Event, and even the NXT arena that's in the Full Sail Arena. There's also retro arenas, but instead of the Attitude Era theme, they went with the Wrestlemania theme here, from WM 1 all the way to an estimated look on what WM 30 will look like. They all look pretty accurate on my book. Yeah, there's arenas that have ridiculously long ramps, but they obviously shortened the ramps for consistency. Or something like that. Besides that nit-pick, the arenas/ring environment is as accurate as can be without watching the event yourself.

In the previous game of WWE 13, they introduced the WWE Live sound effect, which makes the crowd more realistic,... Read the rest of this Review

Super Mario Bros 2 - Doki Doki Panic Reject
In this special review, I decided to review Super Mario Bros 2. This game is both pretty good, and pretty bad at the same time. Its good since its a sequel for Mario Bros, and it was fairly popular in the NES, I have no problem with that. What I do have a problem, is that its an unoriginal game. Its a rehash of another game called Doki Doki Panic which is from the Famicom system that was originally suppose to release for the NES, but it was never released outside of Japan. So they decided to put the game, mix the story up, put the faces of Mario, Luigi, Toad, and Peach on them, and slap the Super Mario Bros 2 logo on it, and bam! You got yourself a Mario 2 game. So let's begin the review.

DIFFICULTY: 6
Its not that hard at all. yeah, it has its difficulties, and yeah it has some different techniques to beat bosses and enemies. Instead of simply jumping on them, you instead find a plant area, or its grass like head, and pull out vegetables, and hurl them at the enemies. Yeah, that's something you want your kids to know. Don't eat them, kids, instead, throw them at animals! No wonder they didn't release it. :P Overall the difficulty isn't anything special, it pretty much only appears when you bump into the end of the level boss or world boss, so I wouldn't worry about the enemies or the level itself. Maybe the last level castle, but nothing you should get worried about.

DEPTH: 5
The depth is fairly long. Yeah its pretty long if you count the worlds. In total there are 7 worlds, and 20 levels total. So yeah, it's not THAT long, if you know the secret warps that is.
Here's a list of the bosses in the game.

Birdo: You might see this guy a lot. It should be pretty easy to kill it with throwing its eggs at it when spitted out. Most likely you will see it half the time at the end of the level.

Red Birdo: This guy is exactly the same person, only it spits out fire every once in a while, so watch out where ... Read the rest of this Review
Super Mario Bros 2

Super Mario Bros. 2 - The Lost Sequel
This game is what you would call a lost sequel. This game was created in Japan and stayed in Japan. After they tried to go through Nintendo America, the company marked the game "Too hard for the American gamer to play" and shipped it back to Japan. It was never seen again. Until Super Mario All Stars where it was included in the game. So let's get to reviewing the lost sequel.

DIFFICULTY: 6
The game is pretty tough, it is not a hack, and it has this kind of challenges. I gotta say this game is probably one of the hardest Mario games that is a non hack. There is a lot of obstacles, bad guys, and even MORE PUZZLES. Yeah its pretty tough. I had to use save states it was that tough. I know some of you can get through this game without save states, but that can happen only when you know everything that's gonna happen.

DEPTH: 4
The game isn't that long. Its pretty much exactly the same as the previous games and the future games. The game only has 8 worlds. It has some secret Warp Zones that aren't the same as the previous games. Overall, it shouldn't be any trouble beating it besides the obstacles. Yeah, there is actually new warps in this game, even a BAD warp zone that warps you back to World 1. It can be evil at times, but really not that long.

STORY: 3
The story is not new at any length at all. Its the same story as Super Mario Bros. King Bowser has captured Princess Peach again, so Mario and Luigi got to go back through the Mushroom Kingdom and beat Bowser one more time to rescue Peach again. They rehashed it really. There is no improvements to the story. Yet, there isn't any bad decisions to it either. So its alright overall.

ADDICTIVENESS: 9
The game is pretty cool. I have a lot of fun with the game. The game has pretty much the same fun as the original Mario Bros., the fun didn't go away, and after you get the hang of it, you'll play it again, and again, and again. I can... Read the rest of this Review

Pokemon Red: The Beginning of the Pokemon Era
Pokemon Red. A game that really started the Pokemon business in its variety in games such as Blue, Yellow, Gold, Silver, Emerald, Diamond, Pearl, FireRed, LeafGreen, Ruby, Sapphire, HeartGold, SoulSilver, Black, and White! Above all of them, Pokemon Red was probably the beginning of the era of Pokemon. Let's get to reviewing, shall we? Oh, I'll bold the important points in the rating I give. Other stuff is more detail or me rambling about it. Fair warning :P

DIFFICULTY: 7
The game is pretty tough. I had quite some trouble beating a few people in the game, but this game is basically trial and error. It has that RPG feel to it, you need to go around and level your Pokemon up and do whatever it takes to get them to the very best and even evolve to even more Powerful Pokemon! Basically, the Difficulty all depends on how you level your Pokemon up. The less you level up Pokemon, the more of a challenge it is.

DEPTH: 8
The depth of the game is very long, if you ask me. It doesn't seem that long at a first glance, but you haven't seen anything yet. Oh no no no, you are in for a surprise on what you got to do to COMPLETELY beat the game. To beat the game 100%, you need to beat the elite Four, Team Rocket, and your rival. While you are at it, you need to explore the world collecting ALL the pokemon!. That takes FOREVER, I tell you that much. I swear it took me weeks to beat the game just catching the Pokemon alone! It pays off afterwards though. Becoming the ultimate Pokemon master is a great achievement.

STORY: 4
There isn't any real story to the game. The main point is you are a 10 year old kid that has decided to become a Pokemon Trainer! So your next door neighbor, Prof. Oak, decides to help you along the way to start your adventure off with 3 starter choices. While his Grandson wants to be a Trainer too. And challenges you to become the best ever. After you beat your rival, Oak says you are on your own... Read the rest of this Review
Legend of Zelda, The - A Link to the Past

Legend of Zelda ALTTP: The Prequel of the 90's
To make a triumphant review return(even though I don't really need to make one since I'm not staff) I am gonna make a review of Legend of Zelda: A Link to The Past. So let's get the show on the road.

DIFFICULTY: 7
This game is a good challenge to those who haven't played it before, since you gotta explore the map quite a few times. So it'll give you some time on your hands. Heck, there is a save to the game, so you know it probably won't beat it in one sitting. I know I didn't do that. It took me a few days to beat the game. Pretty tough since I never played it before.

DEPTH: 7
The game takes a bit for the newbies to the game. Like I said before, if this is your first time, you'll be lost in a few places, but that's why you have a map to tell you where to go... usually. Sometimes you actually have to read what the characters are saying to know where to go in some situations. This game you have to pay a bit more attention than you do in other games.

STORY: 7
The story starts with Link being telepathically contacted to Zelda who is trapped in her castle by the evil wizard called Agahnim. Link's uncle goes to the castle to attempt to save her. When Link follows him to the castle and finds him hurt and almost dead, he says Link is the only hope and gives him the Sword and Shield. Now its up to Link to save Hyrule and Zelda.

ADDICTIVENESS: 10
This game is very VERY addicting. I always enjoy a good game, and I'm a fan of the Legend of Zelda series, this game is a great classic and I have played this game quite a few times. I gotta say, I am still playing it. To this day I am happy with the game.

SOUND: 9
The sound track is pretty good. I am loving it every step of the way. Even though it isn't quite as looked at, its still pretty cool. Nintendo usually has the best videogame sound tracks out there, and they did not disappoint at all.

GRAPHICS: 10
Freaking amazing. That is ... Read the rest of this Review

WWF Wrestlemania 2000 - A Pacman Review
Hello fellow gamers, it is time for another Pacman Review! This time we will go to the Wrestling area of the RGR with WWF(WWE) Wrestlemania 2000! This is one of those early games that the WWE made back then, and its quite interesting if you break it down. So here is my review of the game.

DIFFICULTY 6
The difficulty in this game isn't really that bad, it is rated T for Teen, but its not as bad as it sounds. I played it when I was 9 or 8 and it was pretty easy. The CPU characters get more tough as your "season mode" goes on. It shouldn't be that bad though, I believe if I could beat it when I was a mere child, you should beat it in your sleep.

DEPTH 5
This game isn't very long at all, when you play the story mode, you go through the full WWF Schedule with Raw is War, Sunday Night Heat, and the great PPVs to go with it. You can probably beat it in 1 day if you tried. Nothing that will take too long.

STORY
In Story mode, you can play as any character in the WWF as you want. Including The Rock, Stone Cold Steve Austin, Undertaker, and more. When you do, you start out as a rookie, and work your way up the WWF ranks. You start out as a jobber so to speak, fighting the people that are on the bottom of the WWF List, then you go ahead and fight your way through some challenges along the way, then eventually you find yourself in a Title match, and you can fight for the WWF Tag Team Titles, WWF European Title, WWF Intercontinental Title, or even the WWF Title! You can compete in all the titles you want since this is realistic to the real thing, if you try enough, you can grab every title in the WWF and become an Ultimate Champion! Not really, but I like to see it like that :P
When and if you get that, you will defend the titles in all matches in a PPV.

ADDICTIVENESS 10
This game is pretty addicting, since there isn't really an end to the game, you can play this for a very VERY l... Read the rest of this Review

Donkey Kong Country - Classic SNES - Pacman's Review
So in this review I am going to make a comeback in the reveiws since I never made a review since August. This is Donkey Kong Country, a pretty good classic Super Nintendo game. It is something nobody expected back then, with DK returning since the arcade games. Let's get to reviewing!

DIFFICULTY 6
The game isn't that bad in the difficulty, but its like any other game, not overly tough, but not too easy either. It gets progressively tougher as you progress. From beginning to end, it gets tougher and tougher. Nothing out of control or in random, its in order. You should be fine until the Gorilla Glacier world. It will get a bit more tough, at least it gets tough for me, since its an ice world.

DEPTH 7
Its not that long of a game, but it isn't too short, its normal.
There is about 6 worlds in the game, 7 if counting the last world, which only contains the final boss:
Kongo Jungle
Monkey Mines
Vine Valley
Gorilla Glacier
Kremkroc Industries, Inc.
Gangplank Galleon

Not too long worlds, but the game does have saves, so you might not beat the game in one sitting, unless you really REALLY want to beat this. In each world there is a boss, and here is a list of their names, and strategy to beat them.

World 1: Very Gnawty
You should beat it pretty easily, just jump on its head 5 times and its dead. As you hit it, it gets more and more angry, and jumps higher and moves faster, so be careful.

World 2: Master Necky
This guy shouldn't be too much of a bother yet, like the last boss, just jump on its head 5 times and its dead. Jump on the tires to hit it, and avoid the nuts that it spits out of its mouth and you should beat it easily.

World 3: Queen B.
This boss is different. Do NOT jump on it, you can't beat it that way, you must hit it with the barrel in the area 5 times to beat it. Every time you hit it, it turns red and flies around the... Read the rest of this Review
Super Mario 64

Mario 64 - Best Game on the N64?
Alright, in this review, I shall make a review based on the very overpopulated and very famous game known as Super Mario 64. Expect a lot of favorites since I just adore this game as a child and today I feel the same. The famous thread begins...now.

DIFFICULTY: 7
It isnn't really that hard now that you think about it, yeah it has its tough challenges but nothing really to worry about in the future, the real challenge is to grab all 120 stars. That is what gives it a higher rating, since it does have tough stars to grab, like the hidden stars, and the 100 coin stars. Those are sometimes tough to get, especially if you have to do a specific pattern to get it correctly. Its tough, but you can manage to beat it.

DEPTH: 8
It takes a while to beat it, yeah, you can beat the final bowser in about a couple of days, but if you want to really clean house and grab every star, it will take a LOT of time and skill to get it right. The right way to do it is to clean out every level one step at a time, and even that will take days to do. If you are a crafty veteran at the game you can do this easily, but if you are new at the game, it WILL take time for you to clean out the levels. Even I haven't beaten the game 100% yet, but I do know what's gonna happen when you do get it and I'm not going to tell...this is a review, not a spoiler. ;)

STORY: 8
This is one of the original stories, but its a bit different then the regular mario storyline, this story is about the castle toads and even Peach being sealed away in the castle's walls thanks to Bowser. Now he is in full control of the castle with all of the powerstars. It is now Mario's duty to grab them all and restore power and expell Bowser and his minions from the castle forever. That is a very good story, I like the direction it went.

ADDICTIVENESS: 10
This game is waaaay too addicting for me to handle, I can play this game for hours and hours on in. It will never ge... Read the rest of this Review
Super Mario Land

Super Mario Land - A Different Direction in Mario
This game is known as Super Mario Land for the Nintendo Gameboy. One of the true classics in the Gameboy era. The game isn't your regular Mario game consep either, its a completely different story. You don't recondnize most of the enemies, logic, and story. So, let's talk about the real review.

DIFFICULTY: 5
This game isn't very hard at all, its very VERY easy to beat, yet, there is some stuff you don't take lightly, so I rate this in the middle. The tough parts are the fast attacks and the stuff you need to do to beat some bosses. Like some you have to dodge many projectiles to having no choice but to find a way over the boss and hitting the kill button to beat it. It isn't hard, but it can be challenging if you aren't very accurate in your timing.

DEPTH: 2
There is barely any worlds in this game, in the game they only put 4 worlds, which is only HALF of every other mario game in existance, which sounds very short, with only 3 levels per world, it can be beat very quickly. Here are the names of the worlds:

World 1: Birabuto
World 2: Muda
World 3: Easton
World 4: Chai
These are all the real names of this game. Interesting isn't it?

STORY: 7
This game has absolutely nothing to do with the regular storyline and doesnt tell the story unless you own it. It doesn't mention any backstory in the game, like the regular Super Mario Bros. You need the manual or the box of the game. The story is this: Mario is in the peaceful realm of Sarasaland, which is split into the four kingdoms of Birabuto, Muda, Easton, and Chai. One day, a mysterious alien named Tatanga appears and hypnotizes the inhabitants of Sarasaland, including Daisy. He kidnaps Princess Daisy in order to marry her. Mario then sets out to rescue her from Tatanga, traveling through the four geographical areas of Sarasaland and defeating Tatanga. Meanwhile after you beat a boss, you DON'T see Toad, he isn't in this game, instead ... Read the rest of this Review
Mike Tyson\'s Punch Out!!

The Good Punchout...Mike Tyson's Punchout
Alright, time for another NES review by yours truely, now what game should I pick? How about the good punchout known as Mike Tyson's Punchout!! Not that dumb Mr. Dream Punchout, nope, this is the more famous Punchout, time to get to the reviewing.

DIFFICULTY: 7
This game has one of the tougher challenges, especially deep into the later worlds, this game has the cheap moments, especially the fighting pattern of some fighters. Good thing there is a password for some games, but its a somewhat long password, so if your going to cheat and use the passwords, I would write it down before I start typing it in. Anyways, the first world is super easy, you shouldn't have any trouble with the first 2 fighters or even 3 fighters, world 2 gets slightly tougher and tougher and tougher, and world 3 is very hard, but you haven't seen anything yet. Mike Tyson is very tough, I have heard that he can knock you out with one punch for crying out loud! Practice makes perfect I say and study his attack patterns. You can beat him.

DEPTH: 5
You should beat the game in one sitting if you played it many times, there is only 4 somewhat short worlds, with at least 3 to 5 enemies to fight. No big worlds in this game, here is the list of enemies in each world.

WORLD 1: Glass Joe
Von Kaiser
Piston Honda (champion)

WORLD 2: Don Flamenco
King Hippo
Great Tiger
Bald Bull (champion)

WORLD 3: Piston Honda (2)
Soda Popinski
Bald Bull (2)
Don Flamenco (2)
Mr. Sandman
Super Macho Man (champion)

WORLD 4: Mike Tyson (Dream Fight)

This is the list of every fighter in every world, looks intimitation but it isn't anything to be scared of, it should be quick. At least to me its quick :P For those who haven't played this game, it should be beat in a couple of sittings.

Castlevania III - Dracula's Curse
07-27-11 09:13 PM
The Best NES Castlevania game
Today I am going to review Castlevania 3 Dracula's Curse, the one Castlevania that I call my personal favorite, with its graphics and addiction. Now, let's review yet another classic NES game.

DIFFICULTY: 8
This game is probably the second most difficult game for the NES in the Caslevania category, the first is Castlevania 2. It has some tough paths to cross, death pits, and tough bosses and enemies. Yeah, it took me a while to beat the game, but the final boss, Dracula, was even more tough, he has THREE Forms of himself, first is standard Dracula, then this group of disturbing heads in some cloud figure, then the final form is some SUPER Dracula, which he is in some Gargoyle type of form, which is pretty intimitating to say the least. Yeah, this is one of those cheap deaths games. It will take some time for those who haven't played a Castlevanioa game in their lives. Challenging, but beatable. It takes practice.

DEPTH: 7
It has a total of 15 stages depending on where you go, sometimes you have a choice to go either one way or another way. Link a fork in the road. You go and fight a somewhat lengthy level. There is no small level/world in this game, it will take at least 5 or more minutes to get across depending on how many enemies are trying to kill you, there are some booby traps if I recall correctly and plenty of death pits in every level, you have to do a lot of jumping in some levels, like some little platforms. Beatable, not too hard, but its something to watch out for, don't take the levels too lightly, it can kill you any time.

STORY: 6
The story is this, according to the game: "The year is 1476, and Count Dracula has started to ravage Europe with an army of monsters. The Belmont family of vampire hunters, once exiled from Wallachia, are called into action by the Church. They feared the Belmonts' "super-human" power, but with Dracula menacing to swallow Europe in darkness, they are left with no choice but to... Read the rest of this Review
Kirby 64 - The Crystal Shards
06-25-11 11:12 PM
Pretty awesome Kirby game
In this review, I am going to review Kirby 64, I enjoyed this game, so let's begin.
DIFFICULTY: 7
The game isn't that hard, but it does has some challenges so its not too easy. It has some secrets to move on to a real ending so its hard to collect the items known as Crystal Shards.

DEPTH: 8
There is a lot to do if you look to beat the game 100%, but not too much to do, but there is quite a few worlds with about 4 or 5 levels each with it, so it has its length. Big but not too big.

STORY: 7
It's not that big of a story, but there is a story here, the story is that a Fairy falls from the sky and meets Kirby, she needs Kirby's help to help destroy the darkness in the Galaxy. Kirby can't beat the darkness alone, so he recruits his friends and even his enemy, King Dedede. Together they team up to fight for peace in their galaxy and home land.

ADDICTIVENESS: 9
The game is pretty fun to play, I enjoy playing this, especially the minigame between worlds, where Kirby jumps on the Picnic blanket and attempts to grab items or health. The powerups you can mash up is fun too, you can take a powerup from one enemy Kirby swallows and throw it to another enemy to create a new power. I love it.

Sound: 9
Sound effects are pretty good in this game, not the best I've ever heard but I like the music most of all, pretty catchy and it gets stuck in your head after you spend a long time playing the same world for a while. Sound FX were good, but music I like more.

Graphics: 10!
I really was impressed with the graphics in this game, it had a 3D feeling to it, and I enjoyed it, the variety of graphic colors, backgrounds, and projectiles were excellent. I loved their effort on this.

Overall: 9.6
My final verdict of this game, Kirby 64, is an impressive 9.6, it has a few flaws, but I really enjoyed the game in its entirety. I would definately suggest you to go on to the RGR and play thi... Read the rest of this Review
Super Mario World 2 - Yoshi\'s Island

Yoshi's Awesome Game
This game is very fun to play...I can't stop playing this its so addicting. Review Time! The Difficulty is alright, like any other game, it gets harder as you progress, but this game isnt insanely hard. Depth is not too long, but it has about 6 worlds. Story is different, Yoshis find Baby Mario and the Yoshis have to find Baby Luigi and bring the twins home to their parents in the Mushroom Kingdom. Sound is pretty cool, sound fx are nice and music is epic. The graphics are great for a 16 bit console, its awesome. Overall this game is awesome and I recomend playing it in the RGR right now.
Happy Gaming! :)
Super Smash Bros.

The Game That began the Nintendo Wars
This game is what began the war of the Nintendo wars, the game is really good and I would play it any time. The difficulty is standard, set a difficulty for the story mode or vs. mode and the higher level it is, the harder it is. Depth is not long at all, I give it a 5 because there is only about 10 or so enemies to fight in story mode. The story is none, no back story or anything, just Nintendo characters fighting...not really a story. Sound is alright, the music is pretty much taken from the stage you fight in. Graphics are good for a 64 bit console, not much to it, but its good. Overall this game is really fun to play and I suggest playing this in the RGR right now.
Happy Gaming! :)
Mega Man 2
06-16-11 12:06 PM
The Game that defined Mega Man
This game in my opinion is what defines the gaming series known as Mega Man 2, it has just about everything you would expect from a Mega Man game. The difficulty isnt too bad, gets harder as you progress if you know some of the boss's weaknesses. The story is kinda bold for a Mega Man game, just stop Dr. Wily from ruling the world with his evil robot minions. Addictiveness is really great on this game, when you start, you dont wanna stop. Sound is really great as well, again, the music is what wins the most credit. Graphics are for a normal 8 bit game, but it is a good kind, so its a high rating. Overall this game is great and you should go on to the RGR and play this right now!
Happy Gaming! :)
Sonic the Hedgehog 2
06-15-11 09:57 PM
Zooming to the Genesis
Sonic 2 is one of those games that instantly makes you a Sonic fan, the debut of Miles "Tails" Prower and this is my favorite Sonic game of all time, now off to the review. The difficulty of the game is like most games, gets harder as you progress, but this game is actually pretty hard in the end, mostly the final boss. The Depth is short, just get to the right of the screen and zoom pass the eggman sign. The story is basically every other sonic game, save the world from Robotnik before it is too late. Addictiveness is pretty high on the charts, once you start playing, you wont stop. Sound is awesome, again, mostly the credit goes to the music, it is pretty legendary. Graphics are pretty standard for a 2D 16 bit game, but it does have variety. Overall this game is awesome and I love to play it any time, so go to RGR and start playing now!
Happy Gaming! :)
Super Mario Bros 3
06-15-11 02:12 PM
The Game that dominated the NES World
This game is what defined Mario in its prime era in the NES, this game is one of my personal favorites and I love playing it any time, very addicting. The story is the same as all of the standard Mario Games, save Peach from Bowser, so I give it a 8. Depth is somewhat normal, only 8 worlds like the original Super Mario Bros, Difficulty isnt too hard, gets harder when you progress. The Sound is great, mostly its Music, very memberable, and the graphics are standard for the NES era, but what it gives it a high variety is its effects and variety. Overall, this game is really good, I love playing this, and I suggest playing this in the RGR right now! Happy Gaming! :)
