A forgotten gem, that is Nintendo's arm wrestling.Introduction:Welcome readers and Viewers. Here's another game review for today. This one is arm wrestling. A intended follow up or something to be made to related to Punch out from What I understand from the game's history,But Sadly, It did not go on to be successful enough to be as popular and live on with Nintendo's legendary games, With that said, You might think this game must be horrible right? Well I can't say it's horrible, nor is that this is a very good type of game, but at least what I can say it's Not that bad, especially for one of Nintendo's old Arcade games. With that said let's get started on this review.
Graphics:For a game that is very old. This game doesn't look all that bad, I'll be honest, You can say it doesn't look all that much better then the original punch or "Super Punch out." but then again, I can't really get on to the game developers, because this game is just as old as the first punch out game.
(character sprite model design +5Each of the character designs are pretty well designed for the time being, Just look at some characters Like texas mac, The main character, they have at least a decent vabirant coloring, and A very nice amount of Facial features. I really liked how they've managed to further out each character, and make everyone of them use different models, unlike some sprite swaps that were used in "Punch out!!.")
The designs of the characters, Describe their names Neatly, and makes their description very accurate.
Let's Look at you're first opponent Texas Mac: Nintendo Had Fitted texas mac, Were he looks like some kind of Cowboy that has joined for the sake of having a good ol arm wrestling match)
(Stages/ level design: +3There is only one stage, and It's basically a Curtain that shades around the arena, and basic table, Nothing too much said, at least it doesn't hurt my eye's and Doesn't mess with the character's weird green hair in anyways)
Graphics rating: 8 out of 10.
Sound:
*Sigh* Well first off, Like a lot of sports and other type of games, they tried going for the manual way to try and give you a simulation, of what the crowd sounds like. There is few sound effects, but it does however suffer from being a old game, with old tech and programming put into it, because all of the speech in the game is pretty blurry sounding. Like a lot of other games, this one has strange sound effects too, Like when you hit the power up in the game the main character starts sounding like he's saying"Crack a hoe, crack a hoe." or something like that.
(Disclaimer: there is no soundtrack in this game, so I won't be reviewing that section.)?
Sound get's a 5 out of 10.Addictiveness:Welp, I'll be dang, I haven't played the game that long, but I've enjoyed it to say the least, Probably because of how tricky the ai can be for me, and trying to know what they are planning. Either way this game is fun to play every once in a while to say the least.
Addictiveness earns a good 7 out of 10.(There is no story in this game so I am skipping it.)Depth:(Disclaimer: What do you think you are doing giving the depth a ten, when the game isn't even that big?)Well first off, I know that this game is short, but there's a point for that, and that's mainly because, Games that have usually five matches or shorter or easier in depth and difficulty, are usually mean't to be beaten in one sitting, and that's basically it for the depth of this game.
Depth earns a 10 out of 10
Difficulty:During the first 3 challenges of the fight. They are Pretty easy to deal with and Bypass pretty quickly, because it's like they barely even have a plan to beat you, but The Last 2 fighters are quite challenging, because they've had some tricky parts, that took me quite a while to time correctly, and even after that, I still have quite a bit of trouble beating them.
Difficulty earns a 5 out of 10Overall:To wrap up this short and basic review of this game, This one doesn't fair too bad, it has it's ups and it's downs, but It's overall not too shabby for a old timed title.
Overall This game get's a 6.5 Graphics
8 Sound
5 Addictive
7 Depth
