Bad BananaI always wondered what this Fruit Slash game was all about, which always looked like a lot of fun but my phone never had an exact version of it, so I was stuck with this one which was still pretty fun, but not all the time really. When I first played this game I was really interested in it and was having a lot of fun, but after just playing it a couple of times I realized that there was nothing else to do and that I pretty much did everything I could. The game's still fun if you care about beating your high score and all that, but for me it lost it's appeal fairly quickly.
GRAPHICS 7/10
The graphics are decent, but they are not at their best. Of course there isn't really much that needs to be done considering you're just slicing fruit, but I feel it could have been just a bit better. All you are given in terms of graphics are the background, the fruit, the little line that represents the slicing, and the mark that some fruits leave on the wall. Other than that it's pretty bland. My favorite part of this would be the little line, that's a bit cool if you look at it, but that's only because the other things don't really look as cool, not that it's really cool to begin with. Overall the colors are pretty good and they get the job done but I think it could have been better and my grade for this aspect gets a 7 out of 10.
SOUND 2/10
In my opinion, the sound is really the worst part of the game, especially when it comes to just the regular sounds of the game which were really bad. You have sounds when things like dynamite pop up, when they explode, or when you slice something, and then you have those little screams that say save me or simply ahhhh and I can't even think of why somebody would even consider putting noises like that into a game. It's annoying and it really just serves no purpose to the game in any way at all. The other sounds of the game aren't as bad as the little screams but are still pretty bland and useless so I think that a lot of work could have been done on this aspect. Probably one of the 5 worst sounds that I have ever seen in a game and for a grade, it's going to get a 2 out of 10.
ADDICTIVENESS 4/10
The game isn't really all that addicting for someone like me because theres just not a lot of incentive to keep playing. Sure, if you get a certain score enough times then you get to unlock a new game mode, but that's all there is to it, and even getting that specific score can prove to be quite hard and boring. I had to play a game about a dozen times before I could even match the requires score for the first time and once that had happened, it was already getting to be pretty boring. It had gotten to the point where if I wanted to get a higher score I would need to buy a bunch of in game upgrades and that's hard because the upgrades cost a lot of coins and you only get a few coins for each game you play. Literally to use one good upgrade for one game, you might have to play one to two dozen games before you can get enough coins. If you are the kind of person that likes going after high scores then you will find this game to be a lot of fun, but just not for me and my grade for addictiveness is going to be a 4 out of 10.
STORY N/A
As for story, there's none at all. The only thing that you are doing that would even remotely resemble a story would be unlocking different game modes, which I believe there are 5 in total but that's all that you could even consider a story. The only thing that you're doing in the game is slicing various fruit and getting as many points as you can. The game is literally nothing more than that until you start unlocking the other modes which include games such as darts but as for a story there is none and this game wont get a grade for that aspect.
DEPTH 5/10
There's a good amount of depth in this game, but at the same time there isn't because even though there is a lot, most of it is really hard to get to or just takes too much time to reach. First off you have the number of game modes which I think is 5 and all of them are pretty much the same style. Beyond the game mode you have different things that you cam buy, some of which will help you while others just change the way that the game looks. You have upgrades that will get you more points in a game and you can buy different backgrounds, different slice colors and animations, and more. That's really all there is to it though and if you want to buy everything, then you might have to play the game hundreds of times. For that, my grade for depth is going to be an even 5 out of 5.
DIFFICULTY 7
The game is actually quite hard because of how high a score you need in order to progress to a new game mode. If you're just doing the game for yourself then you don't need to worry about it, but if you want to progress, then you need to play some long rounds which can be hard. That's because you could end up playing the game for more than 5 minutes and get really close to the score you need and then die right there. The game is hard because it's long and you need to be on your feet during every second that you are playing or you will mess up and having to start over after you got so close can be really annoying. That's the only thing that can be a real challenge but it is a lot more that you might think it does and for a grade, difficulty gets a 7.
OVERALL 5/10
Overall, this specific game is a really as fun as it looks unless you are really set on playing long enough to unlock all of the other game modes. Other than that you might find yourself getting bored of the game after only playing it a couple of times. Still, it can be quite fun for a while and you should still give it a try because maybe you are one if the people who end up playing this game through to the end. I personally didn't like it all that much, and for an overall grade I'm going to give this game an even 5 out of 10.
