Music videos, in this day in age, are probably one of the most important parts of a song that get it popular in our culture (other than the song itself of course). There are some pretty crazy music videos out there, some of them are outstanding and have a big message. 

My favorite, without a doubt, is Change is Everything by Son Lux. Just watch the video, it is literally amazing.

My favourite would be either Sledgehammer by Peter Gabriel or Once In A Lifetime by Talking Heads. Both are among my favourite songs and they have great videos to go along with them.

Sledgehammer is very surreal and bizarre but also hypnotic. Once you start watching you have to finish. And maybe rewatch to catch that one minute detail.

Once In A Lifetime is also strange, but this one is more comprehensible than Sledgehammer. It has great imagery and a fantastic climax.

Yuna1000 : Take on Me was a good one and really creative. I'm not artistic, nor am I creative outside the scope of a business plan and what they came up with was awesome.

My favorite video is a bit older, since I'm older. The Prodigy did a song called "Smack my B***ch Up" back in 1997 when I was in high school. It was a high energy song, with lots of guitars, and had an English heavy metal flavor to it. It was awesome because it had anger, power, and intensity. Those are critical to the high school survival of a 16 year old in Detroit.

The video is awesome because it shows the First Person view of a person getting up, going out to a bar, drinking heavily, getting into fights, smacking people in a men's room at a club, hooking up with girls, dancing, puking, and having a nasty time on a Saturday night. They're killing it and I'm like, "Wow, that dude is out of control."

At the end, it shows the person sit up in bed, look in the mirror.... HOLY CRAP, IT'S A CHICK!

MIND BLOWN!

It was awesome and the first time anyone saw it, they were like "Wow! That's amazing. It's a total plot twist for a three minute music video."

My a few favorite videos  and I'm old school so mine are from the 80's my decade. I like the Police's video wrapped around your finger. The start of the video shows sting surrounded by lots of candles. It gives the song an erie feel too it and just goes along with the song very well. 

Second, I would have to say would be Separate ways by Journey. There is a lot of air guitar and keyboard playing. But it goes with the song very well. 

A lot of the band Chicago's 80s songs had very good videos. Hard Habit to Break, Your the Inspiration, Look away and Take me as I am are very good.
