This is the thread where you can register for the Fifth Semi-Annual Vizzed Rap Battle Tournament for a chance to win the grand prize of 50000 Viz. Allow me to break down the tournament:


1) REGISTRATION

a) In order to register you must post in this thread stating that you want to participate in the tournament as well as sending me a PM so that I can confirm that you have registered. If a user posts in this thread and does not send me a PM or vice versa, they will not be registered and their name will not appear in the contestant list.

b) There is a registry fee of 2500 Viz (this applies to contestants only. Judges do not have to pay a fee but still need to send me a PM). The purpose of the entry fee is to make sure that the contestants who want to participate are paying and will hopefully keep the contestants active. The PM that is received from the Viz counts as a PM sent to register IF IT HAS A MESSAGE SAYING THAT YOU WANT TO PARTICIPATE. If I receive only viz, the Viz will be refunded and you will not be entered as a contestant.

c) A user can register to be either a contestant or a judge. In order to be a contestant, you must be a normal member+. In order to be a judge, you must be trusted+. I decided not to make minimum post or registration requirements because there may be some users who don't meet the requirements that I want to set, but still want to actively participate. For this reason, I am not adding these minimums for this tournament.

d) When the number of contestants reaches the max, any other members who wish to register must send me a PM and Viz so I can place them on the waiting list. If a contestant decides to withdraw their registration, I will send a Viz refund to them and their name will be taken off of the contestant list. Furthermore, I will summon the first person on the waiting list to see if they still wish to participate in the tournament. If a person is on the waiting list when the tournament begins, they will receive a full refund with 1% interest (2525 viz). This same rule applies for any judges with the exception of a Viz refund.

e) ONLY REGISTER IF YOU ARE GOING TO BE ON VIZZED DAILY! This tournament requires all participants to be active and the matchups take time to occur so all contestants must be patient and active.


2) JUDGING

a) All judges must be active. I will summon the judges after every matchup to decide the winner. They competitor who has the majority of the votes wins and advances to the next round. The loser gets the prize available for the losers that round.

b) Judges can only post after I summon them to determine the winner of a matchup.

c) The judges will receive 2000 Viz at the conclusion of the tournament.


3) CONTESTANTS

a) If a contestant wins, then they advance to the next round. If they lose, they get the Viz rewarded for that round to losers and are no longer allowed to post until the end of the tournament.

b) Only the two competitors in the matchup can post to post their rap. No one is allowed to interrupt their raps until after the matchup is over. Any contestant who breaks this rule three times will be disqualified from the tournament and will only receive the Viz from the last round (for example if they advanced to the semifinals and broke this rule 3 times, they’d receive the amount of Viz that the losers of the first round received). If they break this rule in the first round than they will receive the same amount of Viz the rest of the losers of the first round receive.

c) No hardcore flaming or curse words are allowed (I’ll allow certain words such as hell and ass but not f**k). Any contestant who breaks this rule will be eliminated and will receive the Viz from the last round (refer to the example in 3b). If they break this rule in the first round than they will receive half the amount of Viz the rest of the losers of the first round receive (so 2500 viz).

d) A contestant has 24 hours to post their rap. If they fail to do so I will send a PM reminding them to do so. If they fail to post their rap 24 hours after I sent the PM they will be disqualified from the tournament and will not be allowed to post in the thread until the tournament is over. They will also only receive the Viz prize that the losers from the first round received. Refer to what I posted in the beginning of the post.

4) TIME LIMITS AND PENALTIES

I touched upon it in the previous examples, but I'll go more in depth with time limits and penalties.

a) If you do not post your rap within 48 hours of the other competitor’s rap, you will lose your opportunity and your opponent will be permitted to post another rap (unless you send me a PM explaining why you cannot post). This only applies if you are the second person to post your first rap or the first to post your second rap.

b) If you are the first person to post your first rap, you have 48 hours after the round starts to post your rap, or else you will lose your opportunity and your opponent will be given 48 hours to post his or her first rap (unless you send me a PM explaining why you cannot post).

c) If you are the second person to post your second rap, you will be given 48 hours to post the final rap rather than 24 hours. Failure to do so will result in the round ending and the judges being summoned to choose a winner (unless you send me a PM explaining why you cannot post).

d) Judges must be active as well. Once the round is over, the judges will be given 48 hours to vote for who they feel should advance. If a judge fails to vote within the time limit, it will disqualify them from earning the Viz designated for them at the end of the tournament and they may be replaced by another member who wishes to be a judge (unless you send me a PM explaining why you cannot post).


5) Viz PRIZES

Elimination in Prelims (if necessary): 2500 Viz

Eliminated In First Round: 5000 Viz rewarded

Eliminated in Semifinals: 10000 Viz rewarded

Runner Up: 25000 Viz rewarded

Champion: 50000 Viz rewarded

Note: This format is for a tournament in which 8 people participate. If enough people are placed on the waiting list, then I will expand the size of the tournament to a 16 person format rather than an 8 person format. Should there not be 8 people, however, then the eliminated in semifinals part will be disregarded. All Viz prizes will be awarded at the conclusion of the tournament.

P.S.: If any user is asking how these Viz prizes will be awarded, then don't. I plan on accruing a lot of viz, and if need be, I will sell my items in order to pay everyone the prizes they deserve.

megamanmaniac : This sounds awesome, I would like to participate or judge but I'm not sure yet which of the two, if I know which one I will tell you here and send you a PM. Also, when does the Viz need to be send?

juuldude : The deadline to send the Viz and register is June 30th, but you wont be added until Viz is sent (if you decide to be a contestant), so if the Viz could be submitted as soon as possible, that'd be the best case scenario for me.

I will participate.
However there might be days I might be inactive, and if it is still going on in September (2014) I will be inactive less then normal. So yeah, I'll try.
But do I have to rap a song or is the thread something else? (Just making sure, I will send the Viz once I am sure what this is.)

TheJmsGamer : You have to rap in this thread, just by writing it out here so you don't have to make a video or anything. Each user has two rounds and the judges decide who's better. If you keep winning, you move up from quarter round to half round to final round! The winner gets the Viz from everybody who participated. I hope it's clear for you now!

Considering I won the second rap tournament and probably should have won the first one.. but the judges were biased... I'll participate... 

Especially as all the judging places are pretty much taken
