I'll just always pull off with easy. Choosing a harder difficulty without knowing anything to expect or strategies is ultra - suicidal in my opinion. I'll try harder difficulties when getting the hang of easy.

Ive been playing games ever since I could hold the controller. I'm not trying to brag but I'm pretty good at all kinds of gaming. So when I start a new game I've never played I put it on the hardest setting. I enjoy the challenge and also the realism, where instead of getting shot  or sliced up 50 times before I die, I can only take 1 or 2 hits. It makes for a much better game, and gives any protection a purpose.

It really depends, for the most part I start on normal or medium, although on occasion I have started a game on easy more as a look see as to what the game is like before I really try. Once I have beaten it on easy or normal/medium a few times I will then try my hand at the harder modes.
