Smite is also a great free game! It's created by Hi-Rez Studios. The same people who made Tribes: Ascend and Global Agenda! It's basically a MOBA (Multiplayer online battle arena) It's still in beta, but it's and open one. They are still adding updates and Gods every now and then.



Oh yeah, speaking of gods, the game is like a thirdperson League of Legends except with Gods. It's like.. LoL but fun. Anyway, you guys should check it out if you get the chance!
It has gods from Norse, Mayan, Egypt, Roman, Greek, and a few others, but they're still adding Gods!

One that is surprisingly addictive is Jetpack Joyride. It's a simple game of going right, whilst flying up and down collecting coins. You can download it for phones, android, PS3, PSP, PSV, etc. It's also on Facebook.

I kinda glanced through this list of games briefly and didn't notice if anyone mentioned it yet but Ragnarok Online has a free server these days that anyone can play on, just beware of the many bots and hacks that tend to roam the game nowadays! One of the best anime style mmorpg games out there! Don't bother with Rag 2 tho!

Cave Story is a must play for any fans of retro games ESPECIALLY if you are into games like metroid!

Hehe, In my opinion, I like Bloons Tower Defence 5 or BTD5 for short for many common and various reasons. Monkeys have weapons, Seriously?? Wow this game is sure crazy sometimes.

Man, I think that League of Legends is pretty good as long as you find some friends to team with to keep the trolls out.

Nestalgia is a nice free game. Nestalgia is a 2D 8-bit MMORPG, it aims to be like old games like Dragon Warrior/Quest and Final Fantasy. It also includes MMORPG elements, like partying with others, and quests. It has turn based battles where you select your attacks, spells, or items, and the battle screen is mostly similar to Dragon Warrior/Quest. I have played a dozen hours of it, and I got to say it is pretty fun. It also has different classes, with different stats, abilities, and spells. And if you would prefer to play it solo, you could recruit monsters to join your party, and fight alongside you. Just like different classes, monsters have different stats, skills, and abilities. This game sadly isn't too popular as of late. When I played it 2 years ago there were around 100 people online, now there are about 20. It's on Steam Green-light though, so if it gets Greenlit, it may become much more popular.

It is a pokemon game that you can play straight from the browser.
It is very fun as well.

A good free game is I Wanna Be The Guy. That is one of the most difficult games I have ever played or encountered. This game will kick your ass so hard that you will throw your monitor across the room. I am dead serious. If you go and play this game, I have warned you already. The second one is a little easier than the original, but the level design is way better than the first one. I reccommend this only to very hardcore gamers that want a good challenge!

For those of you who like first person shooters check out www.armorgames.com and look for a game called sierra 7.  Out of all of the free games I have ever played it is still the best one.

Dungeon Keeper has been released as freeware by Bullfrog and can be downloaded at http://archive.org/details/DungeonKeeper_1020. This is an amazing game were you play as the evil keeper of a dungeon that you must build and enhance to fend off roving heroes and even other keepers. It's a DOS-based game and carries all the inherent problems running on newer systems. I have no life, so I will likely respond to any PMs asking for help on this subject.


Another free to download game is The Elder Scrolls II: Daggerfall at http://www.elderscrolls.com/daggerfall/. That's right, it's Skyrim's older, clunkier, downright hardcore brother. How hardcore, you ask? A reviewer for a popular gaming magazine played it for a review when it was released as freeware. The opening dungeon can be insanely difficult for a novice player, and out of twenty attempts he beat it twice. Not the game, the opening dungeon. This download comes with a DOS emulator and is should be pre-packaged to run with it, but again, I will respond to any PMs asking for help running the game; I may even have some advice for those frustrated by the opening parts.


Edit* I feel I should really mention that Daggerfall is absolutely HUGE. If you thought Skyrim was big, then think again. The graphics are obviously nowhere near the quality of recent games, but the random generation of landscapes, towns, and dungeons is amazing. I could be wrong but I think only a few royal towns and the opening dungeon are fixed in terms of layout. If you are tempted to play a spell casting character then the Mage's Guild will allow you to design your own spells once you become a member.

Arctic Combat is a great FPS for the PC on steam.  It is free and is similar to COD without stupid killstreaks.

I've heard La Mulana is among the best, although I haven't played it yet.  Spelunky is supposed to be pretty good too.  Each of them got ported to consoles.

And another good game is Super Smash Flash 2. V 0.9 is newer, but I'll give you the V. 0.8 link as well, because you might have problems with the newest one. The older one looks a bit better in some parts as well, but the newer one has more to do.

Star Wars the Old Republic or as lots of people like to call it SWTOR is a free MMORPG you can sign up for a subscription to get things that you can't have in the free version, but the free version is still pretty good considering that most games like it don't even offer a free account. And if you decide that you want a subscription for a few months and then you want to cancel it will revert your account back to a free one. And you keep all of your account information.

I would recommend Warframe, It's got a lot of premium content, but most of it is available someway or another free. It's a game where you control a Tenno warrior (A cyborg ninja, in layman's terms) with a group of up to 3 other players to perform a variety of stealth-based (usually) missions. It is only in beta, but it is hard to tell, although there are intermittent glitches at times. Game play is fast and fluid, switching between gun play and slicing & dicing is quick and easy and the movement options in-level are insane. Highly recommended, I play it a lot with my friends on Steam.
