Nope, not at all. Got over sleeping with a night light a long, long time ago. However, the possibility of being blind- that scares me a lot. So, technically, you could say I am.

When I was little, I was very afraid of the dark, I thought that there was going to be something wrong to happen. It wasn't even monsters that I was afraid of, I was more scared of burglars or robbers breaking in.

I have a blue light in my room so it feels like daytime all the time

Well I am afraid of the dark, because I always feel like something is watching me even though there is nothing in my room.

When I was younger, I used to have a medium fear of the dark, but as time passed I started losing the fear of it, like, I can't only see anything but nothing will come at me and grab my leg or something.

I had night terrors as a child, this as you could guess made me afraid of being in the dark.. Though I'm kind of over it now, the feelings of really not wanting to be in the dark still stay with me. I tend to sleep with the tv on.

Back when I was little, I would get freaked out a little sometimes, but not so bad that I needed a night light or anything. It is scary when the power goes out though, but it is more just the fact that it went out for no apparent reason.

Nah, not really. I used too be, but then who didn't? I can sleep without one. I like to keep my floor messy so it'd be hard for any thieves to get to me or my important stuff. But then, I have to keep a nightlight on so I don't step on the stuff on my floor (self defense system). So then, it kinda defeats the purpose... I really don't mind the dark though. I don't like the pitch black, but I could even manage that if I had too.

When I first read the thread title I immediately thought of the nickelodeon show "Are You Afraid of the Dark." xD

As for the question at hand, I can confidently say I am NOT afraid of the dark! Possibly as a child but NOT as an adult. In fact, I'm more comfortable with/living in darkness than light, as strange as that may sound. I've been referred to as a "vampire and night owl" by everyone I know!

Appreciate the dark side! Mwahahaha!

Anyone who says they are not afraid of the dark is lying to you. Now, I'm not talking about a "bed-wetting can't sleep when it's dark out" type of thing. I mean just that primal fear. You step outside at night, and you're a bit on edge. You go out in the woods, and you're always looking over your back. It doesn't get in the way of anything, because you know there's nothing to be afraid of, but then you hear something rustle in the bushes. You laugh it off, and continue talking to your friends, or whatever you were doing, but you still find yourself glancing over at the noise. Peering into the darkness. Trying to distinguish something in the inky darkness.

Anyway, I guess technically I'm not afraid of the dark, because it doesn't ever stop me from doing anything, but like I said above, there's that natural fear.

Yes. I watch way to many people play horror games, and watch way too many horror movies. Amnesia, Ao Oni, White Face, Jeff the Killer, SCP Containment Unit god all of those are such nightmare fuel. And for movies, The Exorcist, any movie that is a "camcorder" movie (unless it is really bad), there is too many to name in one thread. I usually just leave my lamp on, and read until I can't keep my eyes open. But I always check behind my book every couple of minutes to make sure that there isn't something hiding behind it. And I also fear sleep paralysis, a lot. I hope that never happens to me. It's basically when you wake up in the middle of the night but you can't move. That would be horrible.

I'm not afraid of the dark, but I can't sleep in it. Weird yeah? I have to have some kind of light-that's not because I'm afraid, but because if I have to jump up in the middle of the night for some reason, i want to know what I'm stepping on.
