Some of you may be to young too remember the first 2 era's of video games, and some of you might even be too young to even remember the 3rd and 4th. Either way, this will be interesting to see what gets the most votes.

I didn't name all the systems because there are a lot out there, and that's why I said "and others". I did own a C64 though, I just didn't like the hassle of playing the games

I can't vote it seems.

Anyway, I'll vote for the fifth. Some of the coolest games came from the oldstyle 3d consoles. =)

Edit : Cancel that, it turns out I can vote. =P

I'm pretty sure the 5th era introduced the most game franchises.

Fith gen for me... PS2 and X-box/360 is fun but most of my memories of console gaming are based around Tekken 3, FFVII and the early NFS games, particularly NFS: High Stakes

5th gen probably produced the most memories for me but it's a close one to 4th gen, I have a lot of memories with 4th gen also.

But who knows, in the future, I may appreciate 6th gen more as for memories, I've had a lot of great times playing 4 player games for my dreamcast, Halo for Xbox, and Phantasy Star Online for gamecube.

i think the era with Sega Genesis (forgot the number by now) is one of the best. Games didn't need a complex story to capture you (see Sonic the hedgehog)

but the Games of the sixth era are interesting because of the tales they tell

I love Dreamcast, PS1 and N64! I still play PS1 from time to time, and I have yet to download from the virtual console for N64 games.

Definatly 5th generation for me. 6th is okay only because Dreamcast but after that gaming went downhill. By downhill I mean I do not have the urge to go out and buy a XBOX or WII or PS3... But N64 and Dreamcast and PSX were and still are my top 3 favorite systems, they revolutionized gaming I think.

Wow, hearing about your first games really makes me realize how young you guys are lol. My first game was either Super Mario Bros, Bubble Bobble or the very first Zelda (back in the late 80's).
