I figured since we already put 22 pages into the "Planning" thread, and since we aren't planning for the launch anymore, this would be appropriate.

Amen, brotha!

I'm goin' to see Chronicles Of Narnia in a bit here. See y'all's later!

Oh, some food for thought... Please keep your eyes open for local gaming conventions or LAN parties where you might be able to collect signatures.

I envy you.

There are game conventions at the Mall of America every now and then. I'll get someone up north to watch over it and collect when they can.

That movie pwns...I don't care WHO ya are. They changed quite a bit of stuff from the book, but nonetheless, it was great.

Anyway, my plot for more signatures: My best friend is good friends with the store manager of the local EB Games...we'll see if we can't get his store involved somehow.

Here is a very early draft of my submission to slashdot. I'm almost 100% sure I'll be needing to change some things. In fact, I think I already see a few problems! Regardless, I'll let you guys look over this version. I pretty much have to act as if I'm seeing the project from a third-person stance... as it has to be like an actual article. There probably are a few errors... so lets work them out before we even think of sending it to slashdot.

A petition for the remake of "Chrono Trigger" is currently underway. The group in charge of this petition is known simply as the "Chrono Trigger Remake Petition Group", or the CTRPG. The goal of their petition is to persuade Square-Enix in to making a remake of the famed "Chrono Trigger" on a modern video game console. The group has already contacted a representative from Square-Enix of America, and was given favorable responses. According to the leader, Jacob Kuntzman, the Square-Enix representative informed him that if he collected between 15,000 and 20,000 signatures, that Square-Enix of America would review the petition, and then ship it over to Square-Enix of Japan. While getting such a large amount of signatures sounds impressive; the group expects such an outpouring of support so as to obtain 25,000 signatures. This petition, unlike prior attempts at a Chrono Trigger petition, is actually to be hand-signed, and sent to an address accessible by the leader. In this manner, the petitions will be gathered from across America, and be shipped in bulk to Square-Enix of America.

The group is currently promoting itself across Chrono Trigger or videogame-related forums in attempt to gather the fans necessary to allow the petition to grow. Their official website may be found at: "https://vizzed.com/ctremake/". The forums they use to communicate with others in regards to the project is: "https://www.vizzed.com/vizzedboard/forum.php?id=31". With any luck, this group will suceed and allow a great game to be brought in to the modern times.

Cool, very cool... I think the only correction I'd make as far as facts go is that it's not that I'm "expecting such an outpouring of support so as to obtain 25,000 signatures." It's just that I'd rather aim high in our goals so that we can surpass all expectations, that's all. Otherwise, I'd only make grammar changes...

A petition for the remake of "Chrono Trigger" is currently underway. The group in charge of this petition is known simply as the "Chrono Trigger Remake Petition Group," or the CTRPG. (What I changed there was just put the comma inside the quotes, not outside.) The goal of their petition is to persuade Square-Enix in to build making a remake of the famed "Chrono Trigger" on a modern video game console. The group has already contacted a representative from Square-Enix of America, and was given favorable responses. According to the fearless, valiant and very handsome leader, Jacob Kuntzman, the Square-Enix representative informed him that if he collected between 15,000 and 20,000 signatures, that Square-Enix of America would review the petition, and then ship it over to Square-Enix of Japan. While getting such a large amount of signatures sounds impressive,; the group expects such an outpouring of support so as to obtain 25,000 signatures. This petition, unlike prior attempts at a Chrono Trigger petition, is actually to be hand-signed, and sent to an address accessible by the leader. Do you think that "fearless, valiant and very handsome" was a little over-the-top?

I don't want to sound harsh, but the way you wrote the article doesn't make it sound very professional. I think we should try our best to sound as professional as possible in a public description of the petition, it'll make people take us more seriously which would make them more likely to check us out... hopefully. Want me to work with you on it?

I had a feeling the most criticism would come from you Props. Of course; rightfully so. We want to make the article as best we can before we submit it, afterall. My English teacher and friends claim I happen to be an imaginative writer at times; though my engineering teacher constantly bashes me for lack of professionalism in my writing (writing technical documents requires A LOT of professionalism). In that sense, I can fully understand your argument.

I fully agree with your claims in regards to professionalism. People just pay more attention to something sounding like it is written by a professional. Unfortunately, though I realize this, I am by no means a good writer in that regard. It probably would be good to have you help with this, as I know you happen to be quite good with these kinds of things.

So then... it seems we are left with two options.

We can either fix up the current article (if possible), or we could start from scratch. Your call Props.

*Edit*
Totally fine with you being the "fearless, valiant, and very handsome". Of course; then we'd have to make classes for everyone. That'd be freaky.

Apocalypse the unhappy ECET student stuck in a dark room... forever.

Propagator4 the wise-yet-evil guy with crazy black magic added for no good reason.

Stoney the insane hobo throwing assorted chicken parts at shopright employees.

...I think that sounds accurate enough.

I don't think it'll be necessary to totally rewrite the article. I'll look at it more closely. I like the part about Stoney throwing chicken innards.

I'm not sure about mine being that though lol. Yeah and I pretty much agree with Prop, we need this to sound as professional as possible. Though I do give you credit for not being like this: "U shld come 2 teh CTRPG site. They is awsum. They is tring 2 get SE 2 reMak Chrno Tigger. Plz help thme. PLZ. They is tryiing 2 get 25000 sigs. YOU BETTER COME SIGH IT!!!!!!!"

Lol. That would be pretty funny if someone sent that in. But yeah if I see the above; I'm not coming to the site. Yours did sound a whole lot better than that.

Hmmmm... ok. So we're just going to tweak the current one then? That's fine I guess. Just post whatever you come up with and we'll take a look over it.

Yeah... I was particularly favorable of the chicken innards as well...

Yea... I may lack professionalism, but I'm not exactly idiotic. Anyone handing that in to slashdot would likely have no more than half a brain... and perhaps some added mental defects. I guess the only worse possiblity is if it was written completely in 1337.

Ummmm...

I was just kind of joking about before. I don't really think it is necessary to reveal ALL of us when we are merely giving the public information about the project. Jake is necessary since he is the leader; however... we aren't particularly a completely necessary detail. If the public wishes to find out about all of the members; they can easily find our names on the website anyway. Considering this... I'd have to say no. We don't really need to be mentioned. Of course... my opinion alone doesn't really warrant that. I'm sure others would voice their opinions if they felt otherwise.

Hi guys!

Nice article, Apoc. No, really. It’s excellent stuff. Mind if I change everything?

Fans Create Petition to Remake Chrono Trigger
By the A.P. (Associated Players)

Ten years ago, in 1995, a Japanese company named Squaresoft released a video game that helped define the genre of the modern Role-Playing Game. This RPG, named Chrono Trigger, combined a deep storyline, fantastical worlds, developed characters, and fun gameplay to create a perfect storm that hit both sides of the Pacific with the strength of a tsunami. This year marks the tenth anniversary of Chrono Trigger’s release, and in recognition of this fact, a group of dedicated fans have begun a petition urging Squaresoft, now known as Square-Enix, to remake the game for modern consoles.

This petition, unlike so many others which reside on the internet, is not based around an electronic signature system. Those who wish to sign it instead download copies of it from the petition’s official website, print them out, sign them in old-fashioned handwritten format, and mail their copies to a central address from which they shall be forwarded to Square-Enix. It is hoped that this system will carry more weight and credibility than a standard Internet-based petition would.

The “Chrono Trigger Remake Petition Group”, as they call themselves, is headed by an energetic 19 22-year-old lad named Jacob Kuntzman. [Insert facts about when Jake first encountered CT here, and perhaps a quote or two.] When a friend of his jokingly proposed that they create a petition for a remake of the game, Jacob took him seriously and soon began the arduous process of gathering support for the endeavor. One phone call later, he had established contact with Square-Enix of America.

Though the American branch of the company holds no true power over executive decisions such as what games shall be made, they nonetheless promised to transfer any signed petitions that they receive to Square-Enix’s central branch in Japan, where they would receive the proper consideration. It was hinted that a reasonable target would be within the range of 15,000 to 20,000 signatures; however, Jacob is not satisfied with being merely reasonable, and is instead aiming for the lofty goal of 25,000 signatures total.

What do you guys think? Better than Apoc's, or worse? If you guys want to use this version of the article instead, then as you can probably tell, I’ll need info from Jake about his first encounter with CT and why he loves it so much, so I can replace that bracketed text. Also, I guessed at his age since I don't really know how old he is.

Since nobody’s reading the Planning thread anymore, I’m gonna copy the post I made there and paste it here. It contains information you guys need to see.

I've got an update on Claado Shou. Turns out his computer stopped loading yahoo and he had to use a friend's computer to find my email.

His reply contained two very important facts. First, he's given us a hard date for the completion of Chrono Symphonic's music: December 15th, in four days. Given that he'll want anywhere from 2-5 days after that to get everything in order, that puts Symphonic's launch in the range of December 17th, this Saturday, to December 20th, next Tuesday. No doubt as we get nearer to the music completion deadline, the launch date will become even clearer. So, Jake can expect that email from Claado with the Symphonic album at around Thursday.

Second important fact: he has taken to our offer to host the Symphonic site with great enthusiasm. I believe he described it as, "freaking sweet". He said he'll deliver the news to his web designer StarZander immediately. I hope we'll get an answer soon. I'll probably need David's email address or other contact information, BTW, since I'm sure Claado will ask for them soon. So if Jake or David could PM me that info, I'd appreciate it.

I suggest we wait until the Symphonic launch before we do the really major advertising, like the Slashdot article. This deadline has much more weight since it's a collaboration, and the other project's members aren't gonna wait around if our web designer is being lazy. We can really get Nate's butt moving with this.

(And if he shows no signs of life as we near the deadline, I will roast his ass. Because I refuse to let this opportunity slip away.)

Stoney-

Article's written well. Still some thing's I would change though. If you want me to look at it instead, I can. It's a little long for Slashdot, so I'll probably tweak it (with your permission) to keep the readers interested.

Which one do you guys want me to look at?
