LOTR Vs. The Hobbit

I probably would have liked The Hobbit a bit more if Peter Jackson had condensed the three movies into one simple, 2 hour long movie. I think a shorter run time would have been beneficial to the nature of the story: The Hobbit, as it was written, wasn't supposed to be a huge, grand epic so much as it was supposed to be a fun, short children's tale.

There's a lot of really great, almost "New Agey" music from the Ecco the Dolphin soundtrack on Sega CD. The Genesis soundtrack is also pretty good, but I personally prefer the Sega CD version. It almost sounds like the music you'd hear in a 90's documentary about the ocean! You should definitely give it a listen! The music from EVE Online has some really relaxing, yet upbeat tunes as well. I always liked the track titled "The Archlytte Steppes" from the Final Fantasy XIII OST. 

In terms of non video game music, my go to relaxation artists are easily Vangelis and Enya.

If you get the time, definitely check out the original Star Trek movies. The Wrath of Khan is excellent, and the first movie, while incredibly slow, offers some really cool ideas and visuals.

I lurked here a few years ago for a short time, and I was just thinking about this place the other day, so I decided to create an account and join the community! I'm not sue exactly what I want to do here, so I figured I might as well explore a bit. 

I'm into:
-Novelty monster movies (Kaiju movies, American B-movie monsters, horror movie monsters, you name it!)
-All around terrible movies that are hilarious to watch with friends
-Classic video game hardware and software 
-Cyberpunk books, movies, video games and to a lesser extent fashion and design
-Computer programming/Creative computing
-Programming/building robots

Among other assorted weirdness. I can't wait to meet people on this board!
