Chrono Cross was the latest game I played; practically an island paradise, as long as you aren't going adventuring (which I don't)!

Aloy, from the Horizon series (specifically, her Forbidden West incarnation). She's a superhuman killing machine disguised as a human, I have absolutely zero chance.

Doing this one more time, as Siegfried Schtauffen. He fights off armed men co come at him in droves with a sword that's almost the size of a small airplane wing, he could literally just spin around a few times and fight off basically anything that doesn't use a gun. And, considering that he's the leader of the Schwarzwind, if they're available, then pretty much any sort of problem that could come up will be dealt with.

I think the Soul series has the most ragequits out of me. I don't know in particular which one, but the rubber band difficulty that the series is known for can just fill me with so much fury and abhorrence that I have to genuinely try to not snap the disc in half. I think it's got the only games that I've ever gotten pissed off enough at that I actually had to quit playing before I started hurting things.

Having another go at this, I'd be Aurora from Dragon Quest Heroes: The World Tree's Woe and the Blight Below. She takes on armies of monsters at a time, and can do it going solo. Some zombies ain't nothin' compared to destroying a dragon that spits lightning in less than a minute, especially when she gets her Coup de Grace going.

reaper13342 : I don't remember exactly what the issue was, but if I remember right, there was a way to get past that on ZSNES. I'd have to look it up again, but it's pretty easy to Google it

Final Weapon : Confuse/Frenzy actually has higher damage output to single targets if you get Crono the Rainbow (or in the DS version the Dreamseeker, holy crap was that weapon overpowered; 240 Atk and 90% crit rate!!!) and slap on the Prism Specs, you can watch as everything it torn to shreds.

Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII, by far. The mechanics are some of the best in the series, I'll give it that, but the writing is atrocious, and how they wrecked the setting from the previous two games in that one was such a wasted opportunity that I want to drop, like, twenty F-bombs right now just thinking about it, but we need to keep it civil here.

Storm Call from Skyrim is a good one, I've killed a Frost Dragon before just by using the three-word Shout once, but I don't think that's my favorite favorite move. That would probably be either Confuse/Frenzy from Chrono Trigger, Army of One from Final Fantasy XIII, or Stasis Sword/Judgment Blade from Final Fantasy Tactics.

Cecil Harvey from Final Fantasy IV. That mo' fo can tank the Big Bang, he can survive one measly apocalypse. Especially against the zombie part of it, healing magic (and Esuna, so zombie diseases aren't a problem either), holy weapons (I will make of these zombies white ashes), and considering it's the 3D version that I played last, I also get Augments on top of all that, so yeah, the apocalypse will be nothing.

Another one from me is Rydia x Asura from Final Fantasy IV. I've wanted to write a fic (mostly child Rydia asking Asura "Where do babies/Eidolons come from?") and draw a picture of it, but I can't seem to do either one right. It's a shame, really, because it's a fun idea and I love the image of the awkwardness of Rydia crushing on her holy-war-goddess-foster-mom.

There's been an update to Final Fantasy I & II - Dawn of Souls: Mod of Balance, one that should make playing the game a much different experience, so I figure you guys would like to have a look at it.

I'm really glad that they're doing this. Based on how well Muramasa's remake did, I'm sure this one should be good enough to convince Vanillaware to do others, like GrimGrimoire, and maybe even either remake Dragon's Crown or give it a sequel. I'd love to see a sequel, and have it take place in Bolga instead of Hydeland.

As the thread title implies, list off your favorite video game pairings. Just remember, keep the lewdness on the down-low, and condemning things like homosexuality (or otherwise bringing politics or religion to justify hatred) is a very bad idea, one that will get this thread shut down.

Me, I have quite a few, although they typically are more on the crack side of things. For example, I'm a big fan of Agrias Oaks (Final Fantasy Tactics) pairing up with Beatrix (Final Fantasy IX). I don't entirely know why, considering Agrias already has a waifu in Ovelia, but the idea of her and Garnet conspiring to get their two knights on a date amuses me to no end.

Supergamer :
He's like Jesus, he walks on water
Not like us, he must have been sober

I kinda want to write up a parody and call it Sentimental Weegee now.

Me, I go for Luigi. I really feel for him too, especially with how hard it was for him to get a girl before he and Daisy became a thing (and even then, that's not really something that show up much.

I mean, come on.

The first one is a good start, since... well, it's the first Final Fantasy. IV is another good one, being the first on Super Nintendo, and it still retains a lot of classic elements that you can see getting used elsewhere in the series. VI, while one of the best, may not be the best starting point, since that's closer to when the series starts getting less 'fantasy', but if you wish, it's still a great game.
