I have to agree with SarothCyngus. MOTHER 3 is sad (won't spoil it, but there's one battle that I'm sure Lucas REALLY hated having to fight.

Final Fantasy 7, when Arith dies. I was so choked up when that happened. I was so shocked that they would do that in a video game. When i beat Kingdom Hearts 358/2 days i felt sad not only because i finnished an awesome game but how the story of Roxas ends, its just sad. Shadow of the Collosis just had a sad theme to it. It felt that is was wrong that you had to kill these sad creatures to save a princess. It was your basic pick your poison situation. And last but certainly not least Metal Gear Solid 4. The end of snake sturred up alot of emotions in me and none of them were good. It felt like you lost a friend.

I'll go with Tales of Symphonia. There were emotional parts throughout the whole game. The KH games & the MGS games have some emotional moments as well(MGS more so).

Can't believe this hasn't been said yet: Heavy Rain. It's an extremely emotional game, no matter what happens, you feel something, and you really feel everything your character feels.

I would have to say Tekken 5 because of Kazyua's ending were he has a flashback to him traning with his grandfather(who is the main boss in the game.) only for his devil gene to kick in.

Afterwards, he then lifts his arm up and implales Jinpachi(his grandfather if you had been keeping up.) who then turns to sand....for some reason.

I picked this because you feel sad that Kazayua is holding his grandfather who was about to die and even have a flashback to when he was a kid and was with his grandpa.

Only for that saddness to turn into shock and rage as you see Kazayua kill Jinpachi not too soon after.

Thats just my ten cents. Anyone can elaborate on that if they wish. It also helps because my Great Grandmother had died the same year the game was relased.

Nobody realizes that the entire storyline to a game called Trace Memory was very serious and heartfelt in its delivery. And I agree that the end of Link's Awakening was uplifting, with him just floating on the hunk of wood from his sailboat and just looking up into the sky... Awesome... but then there's also games like Mischief Makers which was both funny and anger-causing Lol. There's more emotions than one, people!

I completely agree, the ending of it was so intense and made me so sad. I also agree with everyone saying kingdom hearts, the music of that game fits so well with the story it makes it very powerful. In FF7, I actually felt nothing when Aeris died, because it had been spoiled for me by too many people already

Crisis Core VII seems to be a pretty popular opinion, and I definitely agree, except the J-Pop song in the end made it somewhat cheesy and it felt kinda weird lol. Nevertheless, it was heartbreaking to see that ending. And... I guess I'd say Twilight Princess's ending was pretty emotional too since Midna decides to leave forever and stuff... i just played the ending again after getting all the pieces of heart yesterday and I watching that again makes me sad haha.

I know I keep going on and on about the Persona series, but Persona 3 and 4 are just very emotional games. At the end of Persona 3 when the MC does what he does to do what he did( trying to avoid spoilers) and all the characters you made social links with project their feelings of hope and blah blah just made for an emotional ending. The Answer on FES was almost as sad. Persona 4 was even worse in my opinion. Such deep characters in the game. You spend hours upon hours playing and completing their social links... Then you find out who the killer is and it's an OMFG moment... I did figure out who it was, but it was still really crazy seeing the characters just react in a really believable fashion. Just one of my all-time favorite video games there. I can't wait for number five to be localized. I will buy whatever console in comes out on. Hoping for PS3 though!
