I'll say Sonic 1 and 2. They're kind good games.

Whenever you play them, they're nostalgic. The 2 player games and bonus games are really interesting to play.

My all time favorite Sonic game would probably have to be Sonic Adventure 2. I've always really loved that game especially the remake on the Gamecube with all the new multiplayer stuff.

As classic sonic goes, my favorite game is Sonic CD. The levels are fun and challenging and the music is great. For modern Sonic games, My favorite has to Sonic Adventure 2. The multiplayer  is fun and the story mode has a great mix of challenging levels and a deep and compelling story. I prefer classic sonic because he is more consistent. While modern Sonic has come out with games like Sonic Adventure and Sonic Generations, which are good games, he has also been in very bad games like Sonic colors and Sonic (2006).
