Call of Duty... Its a good game, Modern Warfare 1 was and still is a good one, World at War
will always be the best in my eyes, Modern Warfare 2, and black ops, and NOW MODERN WARFARE

You are all buying the same game over and over again.... dont tell me your buying the games
for the campaign because after Modern Warefare 1 it went dddooowwwnnn... even MW1's campaign
wasnt too good.. World at War's was fantastic even the older ones are good. But there is
nothing different about these games! There all about killing your enemy, leveling up, raging
over noobtubers, and people cheating to get to the top Presteige level -.-

All you need to do just buy one... you really dont need another, theres no point to it...
Sure Black ops was great thanks to the Zombies, thats why i got it anyways.. but it wasnt
really worth the 45 bucks for a bad story and a very vveerryy similar multiplayer experience.
Its like Halo too.. Your buying revamped versions of the same game, none the less Halo has a
less crap story line. but all your doing is killing the same grunts and so on, only thing
thats changed, the graphics, sound, and attacks. I can understand if you Buy the next CoD and
sell your older one, that makes since to me.

What do you guys think? Is there a point to rebuying the same game for the most part??

I hated world at war,and i think the campaign is the best part.iv not bought the newest one,when its cheap il get it for(brace yourself)the campaign.

I agree that owning all the Call of Duties is a waste. The multiplayer modes feel the same in each one, only different maps. Even though the campaigns are different, it feels the same playing it. It is pretty much like having to buy the new Madden, NCAA, NBA, MLB, etc EVERY single year. No matter what they do, football is football, baseball is baseball, basketball is basketball, and it is never going to change. Only thing different is updated yearly team ranks and players. Still the same thing though. 

One last thing, I don't know if you meant it to sound rude, but the way you typed yours response to the thenumberone looks a bit snappy in print. It's fine to disagree, but just state you disagree and possibly why. But don't dis other's opinions. Again, you probably didn't mean it like that, so no harm no foul

Haha. Yeah. When I used to work in the electronics station of a retail store when I was in high school, I saw the same people every year all excited to buy the new annual edition of sports games. In the back of my mind, I'm making my own imitations. "Hey man, Madden 2K6 is going to be awesome! You think you'll play FOOTBALL on it? Yeah, football was awesome on it last year, so I can't wait to see what they are gonna do with it this year!" It's a little mean to think that and I hope nobody takes offense. I just don't get it.

I already have all three Sly Cooper games on the PS2, but I got the Sly Collection for the PS3. Same games, just as fun. Pokemon hardly changes in gameplay. Still fun games. How many remakes of the first Super Mario Brothers game has gotten away with being released without much yawning from most people? Seems like no one cares that those NEW! Super Mario Bros. games are just the original games with added stuff and updates.

There's tons of versions of Tetris. People hardly complain. There's been a not really million but may as well say million Space Invaders clones. People never notice.

I don't see why it's any worse for there to be under  or more than 7 or something CoD games. The only reason people care seems to be because they hear about it so much. The series is popular, so it's going to get more games of that series released until it stops making money. That's how it is.

I agree with you on that one. =/ That's why I dislike Call of Duty so much - they all seem to have the same storyline.

But I have to say that if the game formula works (no matter how overused it is) and people are buying the games, the creators did their jobs right. =| As long as people want to buy them, the creators are going to keep making them.

Also, there are different stories in the newer ones.

The gameplay is the same, but so is the gameplay in Super Mario Bros, Pokemon, and every console Legend of Zelda game since OOT.

Call of Duty is just like those other games in that same sense.

The reason I don't like Call of Duty is because of it's nooby/troll fanbase.

Halo kinda has a crap storyline that's entirety was copied from Call Of Duty and Metroid Prime.

alexanyways : Halo: Combat Evolved was released in 2001. The first Call of Duty game was released in 2003. Metroid Prime was released in 2002. If Halo was released first, it is the one both Metroid Prime and Call of Duty are copying, if they are at all. Even if any of them did, they play well.

KlawedFlaw : Yes, but Metroid Prime was intended to be released for Nintendo 64, but they didn't see that the controller fit Metroid, so they waited. I agree with you with Call of Duty.

I think that Call Of Duty copies Medal of Honor for sure though.

I'm not insulting. Just being my usual dry humored self. I mean it. There is many sci-fi FPS games that may have a similar plot to Metroid or the Prime games, but it's not intended all the time. I haven't played Metroid Prime yet, but will get to it when I find a copy of one of the games. I'm not a huge Nintendo fan, so I'm not exactly a genius when it comes to Nintendo game storylines.

I don't know what Call of Duty or even Halo copy, and don't care. There's millions of Space Invaders clones, and there's good ones, too. Saints Row was a good GTA 3 and beyond clone. I guess I just have an open mind about this stuff, or am wondering why people who are tired of Call of Duty talk about it if they want to talk about something else. Yeah... Let's not let me talk about CoD haters, because I'll become an exile of this site. If this wasn't full of people who hate FPS games, I wouldn't get exiled.

KlawedFlaw : Just for a heads up, I'd personally call the Metroid Prime games Puzzle/Adventure games before I called them FPS games. They're pretty good though, worth playing at least once. I liked the game itself better in Prime 1, and I thought the story was better in 2. I haven't finished 3 yet; something came up while I was going through it, and I haven't gotten back to it yet.

For the thread... Yes, I agree some games are becoming increasingly overdone, mainly Madden and CoD. I don't think either are done just yet though. I'll say this however: from what I've heard, Madden 12 is the best one to date in just about every category except Superstar mode. Apparently they made Franchise mode better than it's ever been before for Madden 12. As far as CoD goes, just pick the one you like the most and stick with it I guess. No point in getting all of them-it's a waste. :/

I really hate this too. They release the same game a few times in a row and then they say that it is new. I really hate it. I need it to stop because people get suckered in way too easy.

How can you say that all Call of Duty's are the same? Modern Warfare has its own story line Modern Warfare 2 has its own story line that continues off from where Modern Warfare left off. Black ops has its own story line as well. To say that they are the same in that manner is just plan ignorance. Oh, and don't get me started on the online play each game has its similarities but they also bring something different to the table. I will agree that Modern Warfare is the better of the three. However, the game play is so different it is very noticeable. The lag issues for Modern Warfare and Modern Warfare 2 are worst then Black ops. The guns and kill streaks are different as well. Modern Warfare 2 has more sniping maps then either one of the other games. Not to mention the perks are different. The way you get attachments for your guns are also different. To say that they are all the same because they have the same objective is just being closed minded. You can say that about every different kind of game that is out there. All RPG's are the same because they have you level up, ALL Puzzle games are the same because they have you solve a puzzle. COME ON give me a break, IF you want something to talk about with being the same game look up Wonder Boy Published by Sega and Adventure Island published by Hudson Soft. Two different titles, but the exact same game and levels.

lilwildwolf21 : You forgot to mention all the millions of versions of Street Fighter II. That game actually is worse about having the same stuff in every version with just a few new things added. In fact, I'm surprised no one ever says a word about how silly releasing so many versions of Street Fighter II was. SNK also liked to release the same game when they would release a new Metal Slug game.

KlawedFlaw : Street Fighter II is the most important fighting game ever (arguably) so I think it's excused for being ported and re-released and rehashed so often. I know what you mean though. The titles just sound silly after a while.

I think it's stupid the way people buy the latest Call Of Duty games and then 1 year later they dump the ones they have and go and buy newer ones (No offence to Call of Duty fans).

I've never really been a Call-Of-Duty fan, but if I was I would be buying the game for the campaign. I never buy a game with the intent of playing online first, unless the game has no story line. For example...when Gears of War 3 comes out, I'll probably play through the story line twice before I ever play online.
