I will say Nintendo. They have more good gameseries like like Metroid, Mario, Mega Man. Sega only haves Sonic.

even though sales are up for nintendo. I have a general bias against nintendo. I mean yes, I love nintendo's handhelds, but console wise, they are weak. I am gonna side with SEGA on this one.

That's to be expected as Nintendo is as powerful as it is. Sega only makes games now, which is unfortunate, I love the Sega Genesis, and the Sega Dreamcast.

Sadly they lost out to systems like the SNES (amazing system, I just like Genesis...) and the PSX (Also great... just not that much better than the dreamcast...)

Legacme3: You prove a good point in your previous post about how Nintendo's games are high in sales but consoles are weak. In fact, it is true. Their 3DS, SURE it's gonna raise prices, but where is the strength in it/ Their just going to remake games Game Cube games and put them in the 3DS. Sega however, has strength in it's old consoles. Sega Genesis, and Dreamcast were marvelous for their being a retro system. Crono's vote will have to go for SEGA, as much as he love Nintendo for publishing Chrono Trigger for their systems, SEGA is far more epic, console-wise.

SEGA has lost its edge.
It used to be a giant, a great gamemaker, (ah, Sonic's good old days...) and had tough systems to take on Nintendo.
But now, most of their games are failed attempts. Sure there are some gems, but Nintendo has now outclassed them in every way.
By standing the test of time, Nintendo wins.

This is my argument:
Nintendo pretty much started the whole video game revolution. They introduced many of the characters we know of today back when they started such as Mario, Bowser, Link, Mega Man, and other characters of that nature. Sega followed them they were Nintendo's greatest competition. Sonic the Hedgehog was a rival of Super Mario Bros. Sega to me just faded out of the picture after that. Don't get me wrong I love sonic, bubsy, and others I've failed to mention. I just prefer Nintendo.

Nintendo just rocks i mean mario is so far and i think i speak for everybody here is the best game ever sonic cant beat it espicially since it has gotten trashy over the years

I will say that both Sega and Nintendo have made great games. The NES and SNES are two of the best systems of all time. But Sega had made some of the best arcade classics of all time as well. Although I prefer the NES and SNES the Genesis and Master system had some great games that are fun to play.

Also nobody mentions the Dreamcast which was a great system. I liked it in many ways better than the Playstation 2 and original Xbox. Too bad Sega gave up on it so quickly.

It's a delima as old as me... I'm not kidding, I'm from 1988! as long as I've lived I've heard all about the battle of sega and nintendo. I find it's funny how sega is always mentioned first.

My first venture into video games was on an NES, I don't remember the MasterSystem too well, memories are kinda foggy. I remember Nintendo until about 1991 when the Sega Genesis was anounced in america. I Wanted it so badly! got it in '93, model 2.( ...as aposed to the model 1, with the headphone jack and volume control) Sonic Spinball was My only game, my dad hogged it. To this day, he is the only one who sat down and beat the sucker...

I remember SuperMarioBros.3 in '91. Best game EVER!! (but not my favorite, I'll explain shortly...) It started as a sweet battle between Mario and Luigi on a stage (Luigi wins... I still find that funny!!!) followed by one of the hardest longest romps in mushroom kingdom in history! Shining moment for Nintendo.

In '94,
Sonic 3 came out, and I was pretty fluent in Sonic 1 and 2.(2 not so much...) and was AWSOME! Fast-paced, Momentum physics, smooth and solid gameplay meets some of the best Graphics I've ever seen! (not kidding, the fact that all the graphics are pixle art makes me cringe at all cookie-cutter 3D renders of today). The best psudo 3D bonus rounds ever as well as challenging and rewarding. The add on of the S&K lock-on cart gave me the biggest Nerd-Gasm in history. (This is my favorite game EVER!)

As for the dabate? I feel that Nintendo is to be known for creative, fun, solid, and entertaining games. Sega is Known for arcade-quality, challenging, Less-Frills-More-Thrills gameplay. I kinda feel like some Nintendo games that are formatted to english are kinda simplified for the general audience, as Sega hardly edits any of there games.

My personal favorite is SEGA! More memories over all!
