FFVII = Good, but not the best game ever

Halo = Don't get me wrong, I love Halo, but the best game ever? No.

MW2 = Not as good as people like to say, though the story was awesome.

Rasenganfan2 : Completely agree with all of the above, especially the Halo and ModernWarfare 2 one, they aren't the best games ever!

COD just gets too boring. It is fun, but too repetitive. I get tired of hearing people praise it. At my school kids were talking about and I said if they ever heard of goldeneye. They were like WTF??? I thought halo is fine, it receives a bit too much praise but does more than some other games in some aspects but it still is very overrated.

Whether a game is overrated or not is totally a matter of opinion. If you're in love with the game, having spent 99999 hours playing it over and over and have connected with it in some way, maybe it is the greatest game to you, regardless of what others have said. Everyone always talks about FF7 being overrated, but I don't really think it is. It was an amazing game, especially for it's time, and even though I've beaten it twice I still get enjoyment when playing it. If a game that hasn't been designed for replay value with things like achievements and all that stuff is still fun playing through multiple times, even though you're doing the same things, I say maybe it deserves a lot of praise.

I'm not specifically talking about FF7 though. I love other games more. Like Xenosaga <3<3<3 Don't hate me, all you FF7 haters T_T

There are lot's of overrated games. I can't say one is more overrated than the other, so I'll say what's on my mind.

The Halo games are pretty overrated. Sure, they're fun. But the series wouldn't be half as famous without the multiplayer. I don't look for multiplayer in a game. I look for excellent campaign and gameplay in a game. Halo: Combat Evolved gave that. Halo 2 and Halo 3 only exist for the online.

Another overrated game in my opinion is Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2. 6 hour long campaign, not really long. If it weren't for the online gameplay, you wouldn't even call it a game.

Lastly, the one last overrated game on my mind right now is The Legend of Zelda: Ocrarina of Time. Best video game ever? NO! Granted, an excellent game for the Nintendo 64 library, but definently not the best game ever. I had more fun playing GoldenEye 007 and Super Smash Bros.

vizwiz123 : i havnt beaten MM yet mostly because its so hard (the time limit kills me everytime. i would get to the last room but have 5 minutes left and bam i have to play the song of time to go back 3 days and start allll over.) but i like OoT more so far i will have to finish MM before i can say.

i think that halo is overated and so is MW. im trying to think of others but those stand out

sorry too say this may offend people but games buy rockstar and square enix (not counting dragon quest if anything thats underated) ESPEICIALLY FINAL FANTASY

Well there are three major games that are overrated for me they are.

Halo series: Everyone i know seems to have a Halo fever or something all they do is talk about and the new upcoming game for it. But seriously i have played it i dont think it is all that good. Offline the story line is good but not great. Online people just seem to jump around like rabbits...

Pokemon series: The Pokemon games are the same thing since they started just with different Pokemon. They always come out with two games with a different lead Pokemon then a couple months later they release a third one where you could get both of them in the same game. But for some reason people still like it.

Starcraft: Dont like

Earthbound is somewhat overrated in that some people claim it to be the greatest Japanese RPG of all time.

gta iv is the most overrated game ever...and then goes cod:mw2

majorchef : It's Single player name be overrated, but you cannot overrated the all mighty mutiplayer, serious, it is just, hours of fun (un offical mutiplayer mods like SA:MP or MTA SA) .

I think it will be Halo or GTA IV (never play CoD so can't say) .

GTA IV is overrated, Halo, Mutiplayer gave it it's ratings, but the Mutiplayer of Halo... my favorite is CO-OP .

Where to start...
1.Final Fantasy 7: Was it a good game? yeah it was good, but people make it into a way better game than it really is.

2. Halo: I really do like the first halo, and the others are good as well, but people are always going on and on about how halo is soooo great (for example right after halo 3 came out). I mean its good but it's not THAT good.

3. Madden: I know some people like sports games (which I never saw why they would) but people just freak out every time a new madden game comes out. and where is it in a year or two? In the bargain rack at gamestop.

Madden Because its the same thing as the year befor with some new players and barly improved grafics

i thought the most overrated game was [unfortunately] little big planet ive played its demo a few times and thought it was good, but when i played the actual game, it was pretty boring after a while, i pretty much only like the part of it having you be able to play with friends on it, and the music! the perfect music makes a perfect game! but other than that, it was pretty much boring, im probably missing out though cause ive only played the real thing a few times at my friends house
