I'll have to go with Final Fantasy because its never the same. Some of the enemies might be the same but the story is always diffrent unlike Pokemon which has had the same plot for a long time. Don't get me wrong though I do like Pokemon too, just not as much as Final Fantasy.

Having played (and owned) all of the games in both series, and using that experience to draw out my opinion, I would have to say...

They're both extremely different, yet very similar.

Final Fantasy has the luxury of having new leveling systems in each of their games, being able to try out new stories, new adventures, new systems, new characters, every time. They have the advantage of the "Familiar and New" all in the same package. I mean, you'll always be fighting off the evil empire somehow, you'll always be trying to save the world, and you'll always be grinding out levels by beating up imps, wolves, giants, and dragons. But the way they do it each time will be slightly different, giving you the feel of a completely new game. That's where Final Fantasy shines.

Pokemon, on the other hand, uses the ol' "Tried and True" method. Beat 8 gyms, fight the Elite Four, find the Legendarys, pummel the Elite Four s'more. Different map, same stuff. But the delivery is always perfect. Immense worlds filled with engaging characters and loads of the RPG favorite: Collectables. RPG players love collecting things. And don't deny it =P Pokemon is the ultimate in "Here's a checklist. Go get'em." The ggrinding is so well done that it's almost seemless to the storyline, yet the challenge is always there. And you're never stuck to the same team for the entire game. While Final Fantasy has a roster of playable characters as large as 14 (FFVI) or as small as four (FFI), Pokemon's player roster is as diverse and different as nearly 500 now. Endless posibilites of movesets, team combinations, and tag-teams.

Good thing this wasn't a poll. Cuz I wouldn't have been able to decided. They're both amazing RPGs and I am endebted to both Square and GameFreak for making both of these sureal series.

And that was my two cents.

i would have to vote pokemon. i like the idea of having creatures by my side and battling with them. and when they are lvl 100 i feel all powerful lol. i havnt played any of the final fantasy games because well....idk

final fantasy has so much more depth it is way more fun than pokemon unless you like collecting stuff

Neither. I can't compare those games, as they are different. Final Fantasy is a game series that isn't based on monster raising unless you go into the Chocobos in most cases. I can't compare either series without feeling morally sick.

I have always been a big fan of both of these franchizes, but I'm just a bit more pumped about pokemon right now, as the 5th gen games were just released in Japan.

Although I love both, I'd have to say Pokemon because 1) I discovered Pokemon first and 2) I just think the Pokemon games are more fun.

Final Fantasy all the way,i played pokemon for a bit but was never hooked to the series,unlike final fantasy classic mind you not the new stuff,well maybe final fantasy 12
