We already went over the whole PSP just came out thing.

And it was a Playstation spokesperson that said the quote.

I was quoting Menz when he said the DS was out selling it and I'm pretty sure most people who watch G4 and other gaming channels heard that quote, but it still sorta made me a bit angry.

I mean, I know it's good advertising to bash on opposition but saying that handheld gaming is in a slump is a bit harsh and he might have dug Sony a hole if the PSP doesn't do as well as his mouth says.

In my opinion the DS is a better buy. Why? because for 1. its cost less 2. the cartredgies will always be a good idea for a portable because if you scratch a disk it causes problems 3. Nintendo has been in the busness longer
4. there is a better fan base for most of the titles that will come out on the DS. with that said I belive that DS is better than the PSP that and the DS is more inovative.

Are you kidding me? Theres a bigger fanbase then Dynasty Warriors, NBA2K5(or wuteva), Twisted Metal, GTA, Metal Gear, Street, NFS, and Armroed Core. WHAT ARE YOU NUTS! The PSP is much more inovative. The ability to play DVD's and store files is much better then a touch screen and flipability. U'd have to vioently shake the thing to make the cd skip or skratch inside it.

PSP= 333Mhz 128-bit proccessor, 32MB Ram

If one game can sway your opinion, you don't know much then.

The PSP isn't selling that well yet, they may drop the price point.

Good move...and besides it's more like $280-$300 with the game. Does anyone OWN a PSP yet, I've played my friends and it's enjoyable but why didn't they add the analog stick?

I'm still not buying one though.

There is no "Super Mario DS". There is a Super Mario 64 DS.

You do realize that the PSP could as soon they have like 2-5 gigs and the proper programs and fixes WILL be able to play NES, SNES, GBA, Sega, and maybye even N64 and Dreamcast roms(depending on if any programers ever decide to write a emulator that can use the hardware directly).

So i mean now lets see... $350 = possiblity to play all my roms portably eventuallty and games from series such as Twisted Metal, Metal Gear, Armored Core, Dynasty Warriors, and Grand Theft Auto... or $150 for a touch screen and a couple decent games.

O shazz!!!!!!!!! i gotta get myself a PSP ^ ^

There are special handhelds you can buy for playing your roms anywhere you go. I dont think I would pay $350 bucks for a possible protable emulator handheld, your also paying quite a bit more conidering the price of the duo memory sticks, I could fill one of those things with one file easily. The PSP is trying to be too much it just doesnt seem right to try to shove all those features into one thing, considering the crappier uality overall they will be.

I mean why would you buy proprietary DVD movies for the PSP? You can only use them on the PSP, when I buy a movie I want to be able to watch it anywhere at any time. So far there are no PSP games that interest me and I highly doubt I would ever consider using it as an MP3 player.

Now we have the DS with Dual screens hence the name, its pretty neat especially for picto chat which is totally awesome. Nothings better than sitting on the school bus drawing pictures and chatting with your friends. There is an attachment that is currently online in japan that allows you to use SD cards to play mp3s and videos on your DS or GBA. What I like most is with Nintendo its primarily about the games, DS doesnt need any extra doodad stuff to impress your friends.

Yea, lmao after you stole Danny's DS.

Why do people keep insisting the DS uses cartridges...SD chips are not carts.

And the PSP threw everything on a platter as soon as it launched, the DS is saving their better games for later (Like Final Fantasy 3).

U do kno the PSP is WiFi ready? Also i garentee these attatchments will cost $50 bucks peace. And since the DS specs areant as good as the PSPs online games could be much better and be portable with no wires or extra cost!

Trust me sony got DS at every angle except a rechargable battery which they sell. Also those 2-3 times stronger battries i told u about.

The DS is also WiFi ready why do you think it is able to play wirelessly close by? Nintendo is launching it's free online system later this year. Also you put too much into specs, they aren't everything.

There looks to be some pretty cool stuff coming out for the DS. Also sales frgures through E3. DS= 5,000,000 units worldwide the PSP sold half of that. And there is no longer the excuse that it just came out.

Also the PSP doesn't really do anything we haven't seen before. I mean they took some ps2 games made them look a little worse and put them on smaller discs. Sure they look good not going to dispute that, but the DS does something new. It is also $100 cheaper. And yeah I agree with Mrmenz why would I buy a dvd I can only watch on that?

And even if the Mp3 attachment is $50 the DS would still be $50 cheaper than the PSP.

Do some Math will you Vash? Ds came out in begining November last year. Thats exactly next to christmas time. PSP came out beginign of March this year. DS has been selling for 6-7 months. PSP has been selling for coming up on 3 months now. So it should be about half of what DS is so yes, PSP when DS has had twice as long to sell is still at a disatvantage. All this prooves is that the PSP didn't whoop the DS's butt but is gonna overtake soon enough.

Christmas + 6 months= 5 million
3 months = 2.5 million

Christmas is celebrated in the countries that actually get these products. Also i don't even think the PSP has been in alot of places in Europe for more then a month.

But almost all of the games you can get on a PS2. You can't get most of the DS games on the GameBoy or the Gamecube. Also as I said it doesn't really do anything new.

Well how it supposed to make games from teh gamecube when its not nearly as powerful. The PSP is almost as powerful as the PS2 thus teh games will be more alike then teh difference between DS and GC. DS games will be more like Dreamcast and N64 with better graphics

PSP Kicks Butt!!!
I played it at EB games, a game called need for speed under ground rivals. It was just like NFSU2 but on a smaller screen, i was suprised of the resolution. Nintendo are crap, they alwayz focus on cartoon, and not realism

Vizzed has 3 TB worth of games and 1 TB worth of music.  This site is free to use but the ads barely pay for the monthly server fees.  If too many more people use ad block, the site cannot survive.

We prioritize the community over the site profits.  This is why we avoid using annoying (but high paying) ads like most other sites which include popups, obnoxious sounds and animations, malware, and other forms of intrusiveness.  We'll do our part to never resort to these types of ads, please do your part by helping support this site by adding Vizzed.com to your ad blocking whitelist.
