Awesome..just truly awesome
Bioshock is truly without a doubt one of the best games I have ever played. It is a fun shooter that will keep you on the edge of your seat. Bioshock unlike most first person games focuses on the story rather than the game itself. This is not to say that it’s gameplay is not good as well, just that the point of the game is to dive into the rich world of Rapture. In the game you are you. You see the character’s arms and hear him grunt but that is all. You get no name or anything. This is common in games but Bioshock pulls it off so well that is really easy to immerse yourself in the game. You will find yourself feeling all the confusion, terror, and heartbreak that the main character feels.
The setting is beautiful in it’s own dead city sort of way. The rooms look like they were really used. You can look at Rapture and see that it was once a place of life. The care that went into making this city is incredible. If you notice I did not rate the graphics the highest. This is not what I am talking about. The graphics are not the best on the system. What I am talking about is how the city feels, how they made it where even with the unreal qualities of the world there is still a hint of familiarity about this place.
The lighting is also fantastic. Some of the rooms are barely lit, not in a way that it was annoying but added to the horror. There was this one room where I was up to my knees in water and it was barely lit. All of a sudden the lights shut off and I hear movement. My description doesn’t do it justice. It scared the heck out of me. The lighting adds to the setting telling you the city is dead but something still lives inside.
The gameplay as I said before is also good. Not as important as the story line but they did not disappoint. It h... Read the rest of this Review

Save Bomberman
Alright I want to take you back a bit, to the beginnings of a little game I would like to call Bomberman. In 1987 a strategic, maze-based game came to the US on the Nintendo Entertainment system. This game instantly became a hit. Bomberman has had over 70 titles to it’s name. I haven’t played them all. My first time playing it was on the PlayStation version, Bomberman world.
This game truly is a part of my childhood. I remember spending hours on that game. Bomberman can be classified the same category as Mario, as in it always has the same gameplay but still is a great game. The gameplay is simple. You go around the maze trying to blow up everything else without getting yourself blown up.
I got a hold of one of the latest versions, Bomberman live: Battlefest. Now this game isn’t exactly new, it came out in 2010. It was all the great gameplay I remember and more. They added several game modes including: capture the flag, paint bomb, and capture the crown. It also had something I was not familiar with, battles. I invited one of my friends over and we had a go. Both being big fans of the series, we spent hours trying out all of the different game modes. It was awesome. Each game mode brought a different challenge while still keeping true to the game’s heart.
One of my favorites was capture the flag. I was actually very skeptical with this one. Capture the flag did not seem to be something that would go well with Bomberman. I was proven way wrong. All the game modes were great. However, I did have a problem with one of them. Capture the crown was ok but had a few things I did not agree with. In capture the crown the goal is to get and hold onto the crown. Doing so will get you points. Whoever has the most points wins.
When the person with the crown gets blown up, the crown spawns in a random place. Normally I would not have a problem with this. However, the crown can sometimes have the tendency to spawn... Read the rest of this Review
