Sonic Frontiers

New Frontiers
Heyo guys I wasn't sure if I would wanna do a review of Sonic Frontiers right away but after playing it I wanted to write this because I enjoyed it way more than I thought I would and also wanted an easy way to see all my thoughts on it right after playing it. I will cover some spoilers but I plan on using the spoiler tag for anything and giving an indication of what the spoiler is about so you can decide if it's something you wanna read if you've not played the game.

Gameplay 7/10 -
If you look at all the ratings and instantly question why the gameplay is the lowest-rated thing if I rated the game so highly I don't blame you, but I have my reasons. I'll start by saying that I think the gameplay of the "open zones" is a lot closer to an 8 than a 7 but I couldn't rate it that high due to cyberspace. Before I jump into my issues with cyberspace I'll talk about why I like the gameplay in the "open zones" and a large part of that is the control sliders in this game basically allowing you to decide how you want Sonic to control! Even better yet is the fact that Sonic actually turns well while boosting in this game which was mind-blowing for me when I was first messing with the controls. Alright, you might think "If you can customize the controls how can cyberspace possibly be that bad? Well, that's the issue the controls you set don't affect cyberspace and it can be pretty jarring going from your set controls to the set cyberspace controls where I'm convinced they had Sonic's speed all the way down cause he just feels slow in cyberspace which I imagine they did so the bite-sized ones wouldn't be over even quicker. Since I know some people have issues with it I'd like to mention the fact that most of the cyberspace level layouts are taken from previous Sonic games isn't an issue for me just how they control. On the topic of combat, I enjoyed the combat quite a lot I don't think it's as good as the werehog's combat but I do like that the combos and s... Read the rest of this Review
Tales of Xillia

This game should be talked about more often!
Heyo guys today I'm reviewing a game I played and finished recently! That being Tales of Xillia which is super underrated in my opinion but I'll jump right into the review!

Also worth noting I played through the entire game as Milla but I might eventually update the review when I finish replaying the game as Jude.

Graphics 7/10 -
The graphics in this game are what I'd call okay most of the time but there were a few areas where the art design for areas really left an impression on me despite not being on the most powerful graphics engine so I felt like the game earned getting a 7 for graphics so just good. While the in-game graphics for the most part isn't super impressive the opening is amazing and has some differences depending on who you decided to play as and if you told me a large amount of the budget was used paying for the opening I wouldn't be surprised at all the fight scenes have wonderful effect works and choreography.

Sound 6/10 -
I feel like giving the sound a 6 is underselling a lot of the music in this game but I'll get to what held it back in a minute, for what the game does well I'd easily have to say Milla's battle theme is one of the best battle themes I've heard in an action RPG. Though that said the battle theme changes later in the game and I really wish it didn't cause the song that replaces it isn't nearly as good as the song that you start the game with. The different areas throughout the game all have fitting music for the location I'm quite a fan of the music in the final area in the game but I don't wanna spoil anything. As for what holds the game back in the sound department besides the battle theme changing it's all Teepo's fault the doll's voice is super annoying and a good 90% of the time Teepo talks I just question why.

Addictive 9/10 -
Based on what the site says to rate Addictive based on that being how likely you are to replay the game I felt inclined to... Read the rest of this Review
Final Fantasy VII Remake
10-26-22 09:15 AM
The most popular FF Remake
Heyo people of Vizzed! I felt like I needed to review this remake since I said I thought the gameplay looked boring back when it came out but it would turn out that the gameplay I watched was someone playing it in a way that made it look super boring. Before I jump in I'll also say I don't have the history of playing Final Fantasy 7 that some people will no doubt have however, I have watched my mom play the original to death so I will be mentioning how things differ from the original based on my memory of watching my mom play the original and will be talking about spoilers!

Gameplay 10/10 -
Turning a turn-based RPG into an action RPG will always be an interesting choice but one I think was for the better of the game allowing a new generation to enjoy Final Fantasy 7! That said how did the game manage the change? Fantastic The playable characters all have unique things about them like Cloud can enter punisher mode where his damage increases quite a bit but he walks super slow. My personal favorite was Tifa's combos it was super fun just doing crazy-looking moves to get the enemy to stagger. I think it was a wise decision to only allow spells to be cast when the ATB gauge is full forcing players to not just go running in like crazy and then healing whenever they needed to though if you played smart you could still likely pull that off.

Graphics 10/10 -
With the exception of a few graphical and texture hiccups, this game throughout was the best-looking game I've ever played and I typically don't really care for games looking super realistic but even without it being my preference I would be lying to say I found the game anything less than stunning graphicly.

Sound 10/10 -
Before I get into the soundtrack I'll say changing the voices of the entire cast in the English version is something I still find questionable but I imagine was a choice done because they couldn't get everyone back with how some o... Read the rest of this Review
Sonic the Hedgehog

Sonic 1 isn't good?
Heyo people of Vizzed I decided today I would give a review to a game I don't actually like :o Yes that's right SONIColmstead doesn't like Sonic The Hedgehog or well at least the original game! I didn't grow up with Sonic The Hedgehog 1 at all my first Sonic game was actually Sonic Unleashed or well the Sonic Unleashed PS3 demo but the first one I actually owned was Sonic Unleashed on PS2 and I remember thinking the 2D bits of the day time stages was easily the worst part. So light speed forward several years and I decided I should give the classics a chance so I originally played Sonic 1 through Sonic Mega Collection Plus on the PS2 and I didn't like it at all. I think over time my opinion of the game has gotten slightly better so let's get into the steam version of this game!

Graphics and Sound -

The graphics in this game are very colorful and nicely shows off the blast processing that the Sega Genesis is all too famous for. When it comes to music I would be lying if I tried to say Green Hill Zone is a bad song just like anyone else saying the stage isn't overused would be lying! To stay on the topic of music however, the themes all represent the zones they belong to quite well which I find impressive getting the music right on the first go but Sega made the right choice getting Masato Nakamura from Dreams Come True to make the soundtrack and it paid off well.

Story -

Eggman has been capturing poor animals like the flickies and been enslaving the animals to fuel his robots! Or something I never did really care for the simple stories with no cutscenes but future games do improve on this.

Gameplay and Level Design -

The gameplay in this game is extremely simple Sonic's moveset had a basic spin attack and he can roll into a ball to gain momentum going down hills and loop de loops. That's right no spindash this time around which is rather unfortunate because you don't have any way to pick up spe... Read the rest of this Review
Xenoblade Chronicles Definitive Edition

This is the Monado's power!
(SPOILER WARNING Don't read if you wanna avoid spoilers for Xenoblade Chronicles)

Heyo people of Vizzed thanks to Pokemon x I can now review Xenoblade Chronicles Definitive Edition! I decided I wanted to play this game after Xenoblade Chronicles 2 left a lasting impression on me where the game was constantly in my mind months after I played it but I knew next to nothing about it so how did the first game hold up was it still the classic you sometimes hear about? Or was it a game that aged poorly? Only one way to find out of course.

Difficulty 7/10 -

The difficulty in this game unfortunately in my experience came simply from being under-leveled at seemingly every single important story battle, leading to me constantly having to stop and grind until my numbers matched the enemy's number which really killed the flow of the game. Besides the constant grinding, I don't think most of the battles were too bad once you knew what you were doing which the game gives you time to get used to combat before throwing anything too insane at you in the story.

Graphics and Sound 9/10 -

The graphics are very impressive they took a game that while pushing the Wii to its absolute limit didn't age all that well at all, to a game that looks very in line with the current games releasing on the Switch. One thing that took away from that once I noticed it and couldn't stop noticing it was the way the grass appeared in the game it felt very pop in like which I don't think is exactly what was happening it's more the render on the grass was not far enough for my liking which took me out of the experience just enough for me not to be able to rate the graphics a perfect 10. The sound however is a perfect 10 I was hooked on the soundtrack from the first time I heard Engage the Enemy the scene it first plays in is so haunting and that's true for almost every scene Engage the Enemy plays in. It's the perfect song to have you on the... Read the rest of this Review
Legend of Zelda, The - A Link to the Past

My Link to the Site
Heyo people of Vizzed this is the review that I knew I was going to do for the longest time and at points I wasn't sure would ever happen, It's time for me to review the game that started me on this site in the first place The Legend of Zelda A Link to the Past!

Graphics 8/10 -
The sprite work in this game is top tier work, especially considering how early into the Super Nintendo Entertainment system years this game came out. The colors are very vibrant and you should instantly be able to tell the upgrade that this game is compared to the first game back on the Nintendo Entertainment System.

Sound 8/10 -
The music in this game is simply iconic the Hyrule overworld theme is likely a song most gamers know even if they don't play Zelda games, while the dark world theme is less known and sets a completely different mood to Hyrule's theme it sets the mood perfectly sets you up to know you're in unfamiliar territory. The dungeon themes all do a great job at putting you on edge while going through these challenging traps and puzzles.

Addictive 3/10 -
Rating addictiveness a 3 for A Link to the Past isn't going to win me any popularity contests I'm sure but the number of times I dropped the game for months at a time over the 8 years I played it I just can't rank it as a game I wanna ever play through again I mean if when it was all new and exciting it took me 8 years to finally finish who knows how long it would take a 2nd time.

Story 5/10 - (slight spoilers)
The story is not all that complicated most of it just revolves around you getting items to help you face the antagonist which I don't think is the worst story set up but it could be better too.

Depth 10/10 -
If you didn't grow up in this time period of games you will likely be caught off guard with many of the things you are expected to wander around until you find but I think that's in a way part of th... Read the rest of this Review
Xenoblade Chronicles 2

5th rule of the salvagers code...
Heyo people of Vizzed today I've decided to look back on a game I got into just over a year ago that I decided to play based on the music alone and that game is Xenoblade Chronicles 2!

Graphics 8/10 -
This game is easily one of the most beautiful games on the Nintendo Switch the environments are so easy to get lost in the sheer beauty of it all I mean they managed to make a desert look stunning! What more could I possibly ask? The character models are all up to date with what I'd expect from a game on the switch.

Sound 10/10 -
Before I dive into the topic of the soundtrack I first wanna say that this might not be the fairest 10 I've ever given in a section of a review with the constantly repeated lines but I found them hilarious so it didn't impact my enjoyment of it and if you disagree... "I like your attitude" minus the repeated lines the voice actors do a good job with their lines and I appreciate the effort of having the people of different titans having different accents. That said the soundtrack is amazing the first song I wanna draw attention to is the default battle theme which is straight up one of the best battle themes I've ever heard I love the slow build up to the chorus of the song which is timed in a way where you will hear it a lot throughout the game right as you start taking down the enemy in front of you. I've decided to only limit myself to talking about 2 songs this time around cause otherwise I would end up talking about most of the soundtrack so for my 2nd choice I've decided Counterattack is the song I have to talk about. Counterattack is a song that basically exists to be epic anime fight scene music and it does it's job wonderfully throughout the game every time the song played I knew it was a scene I would not soon forget. The songs for each of the Titan's you explore in this game fit super well and really add to the mood when you explore each location.

Super Mario Bros 3
07-03-22 10:14 PM
The Best NES Game!
I've decided to try writing a shorter review for once cause I often run into the issue of not wanting to let myself review older games due to not being able to formulate nearly the same amount of words that I can for games that came out in my lifetime so I'll give this style a shot for once.

Graphics 7/10 -
Super Mario Bros 3 is a major upgrade sprite-wise from the first two Mario games everything just looks better and more thought out.

Sound 6/10 -
The sound effects are great though I do find most of the soundtrack in this game on the more forgettable side of Mario music but when a good song plays you will be humming it for days on end.

Addictive 7/10 -
One of the first things you'll notice if you die a lot at older Mario games is that unlike the first game you can rest easy knowing you won't have to start the entire game over if you get a game over you'll simply go back to the start of a world. Knowing that and the number of powerups you get, not to mention the fact you can now store powerups for later thanks to toad houses makes this game fun to experiment with different powerups to see if it makes certain levels easier or even harder if you wanna challenge yourself.

Story 4/10 -
In a twist on the normal Mario storytelling, you start the game not trying to save Peach but instead trying to save the kings of the different lands you travel to.

Depth 8/10 -
Without question the best thing Super Mario Bros 3 does is depth it's one of the first games to have a world map which makes everything instantly feel more connected and then you have the many secrets the game hides waiting for you to discover.

Difficulty 7/10 -
This game can be really hard at times you don't expect and easy way too late in the game all at the same time. When the game wants to challenge you it will and you better hope you've been keeping your life count up or you ma... Read the rest of this Review
Sonic Colors

The Colors feel so right?
Heyo people of Vizzed you might know that I have said on many occasions I hate Sonic Colors however I was always talking about the Wii version because I've not actually played Sonic Colors on the DS till now and with everyone talking about Colors because of Sonic Colors Ultimate I figured now was the perfect time.

(Spoiler Warning)

Graphics 7/10 -
The game looks on par with Sonic Rush and Sonic Rush Adventure which aren't the nicest looking games but for a DS title I'm not sure how much more you could really do with it. While I don't have much to say on graphics there was a really nice touch thrown in with it being Sonic Colors they gave Sonic's boost a rainbow color and it looks so nice that it made me wanna use the boost any second I could.

Sound 6/10 -
I don't have a lot to say about the sound this time around because to be honest the DS sound font does not work well for most of the songs on the soundtrack which is really unfortunate because Colors does have a nice sound track even if some of the songs really aren't my thing.

Addictive 7/10 -
Colors DS's ranking system makes it challenging and rewarding to go for S ranks the fact the game awards you with more extra lives the better you rank makes it really rewarding scoring better. After putting off playing the game for years finally sitting down to play it I was hooked pretty early in just wanting to see how the game would handle certain stages differently than the Wii version and in some cases I think the level ideas were even better then it's console counterpart.

Story 5/10 -
This was the biggest shock to me in the game the story covers the same general basis of Eggman made a amusement park and Sonic doesn't believe it's out of the goodness of his heart and low and behold Eggman is capturing the Wisps but because it's on the DS it uses a lot of text instead of the cutscenes and the game doesn't force the bad jokes... Sonic and the Black Knight

Knight of the Wind
Heyo people of Vizzed after my long review of Sonic Forces I really wanted to play a Sonic game I actually liked so I got out the Wii to play the best storybook game Sonic and the Black Knight.

Graphics 8/10 -
While the Wii is underpowered compared to the other consoles of the time the game still looks really nice for the console it's on and I have to praise the ui design like when you click on a level and select ready the cutting effect through the menu is a really neat detail.

Sound 10/10 -
So before we get to me talking about music forever I'll start with the voice cast where I don't have anything negative to say this is Jason's best game as Sonic and the rest of the cast all do great as well! Level themes I don't really have anything to pick out this time but Jun Senoue does a great job at making the music fit for the medieval style the game is going for and it makes the OST really memorable. Now that's out of the way it's time to get into the vocal themes and the only place to start is the main theme Knight of the Wind. It's hard to break it down much even for me this could be Crush 40's best song when it comes to fitting both the tone and plot of the game I mean even in game Sonic is known as the Knight of the Wind it just works perfectly for this game. Fight the Knight is perfect for the King Arthur encounters and Through the Fire is a song I can never forget due to fighting the knight's so often and it being used in Lancelot Returns which is good cause it works great for those fights. With Me is a contender for best final boss theme in the series being done in a way where it's lyrics make it sound like it's being sung by Merlina herself and this might be a lazy way to try and describe it but the whole fight feels insanely epic due to the song. Live Life is a beautiful song that goes perfectly after Sonic teaching Merlina to live life to the fullest and while not being related I do wanna mention the song did... Read the rest of this Review
Sonic Forces

Sonic Forces me to write this...
Heyo people of Vizzed today I decided to look at the one and only... Sonic Forces because otherwise I'd put it off forever. I remember being so hyped for this game back during the time period of us slowly getting news but the idea of a more serious Sonic game again is all I wanted but Sega completely failed to live up to that so let's get into it. (Spoiler Warning)

Graphics 8/10 -
Graphically I don't have much to say the game doesn't surpass Sonic Unleashed Graphically but it's easily one of the best looking Sonic games just by being released in the PS4/Xbox One generation even on Switch I can't tell much a drop in quality in terms of graphics

Sound 7/10 -
Before I go on my music rant let's address the voice acting I actually don't hate Roger Craig Smith as Sonic in this game completely maybe I'm crazy but I think he had better directing this time around and it shows his tone works a lot better for Sonic in this game than it has in past titles. The rest of the voice cast are as hit and miss as usual and I don't really have anything to say on them. To start my usual music rant let's talk about the main theme of the game Fist Bump I was so hyped for this song when they originally teased the song but after hearing it countless times once the vocal version was out I felt like the lyrics were trying way to hard to be cheesy which really makes me like certain parts of the song way less than I should. Following that up we have to talk about Infinite's theme I will never forget the day they released the song for the first time I listened to it at 6 AM the next day and I thought it was some techno sounding song at first so I turned it way up to get my ears blown out by it's transition to sounding like metal. While I think the song tries way to hard to be edgy it made me even more hyped for the game I couldn't believe they were bringing back character themes but in game the song goes underused in my opinion. I'm trying not to... Read the rest of this Review
Sonic Adventure

Open Your Heart
Heyo people of Vizzed you may of seen me talking about wanting to review this game the past couple weeks and it's finally time for that to happen. Something I wanna note about this game/review is I encountered way more issues on PS3 this playthrough then I've ever had in the past so maybe I just got unlucky but I would definitely stick to the Steam version of the game where you can fix things like messed up textures and maybe even some collision issues because I swear I've never glitched through objects nearly this much in the steam version.

Graphics 4/10 -
I know this game's original version came out in 98 but I still have to be harsh on this game graphics for the sole reason of the Dreamcast version of the game looks better with some character models and a ton of lighting issues and when they made DX (which is the version that was ported) they changed textures making some areas feel way more bland and uninteresting. Another small thing I feel like mentioning is how much I hate when Sonic talks in this game his like whole face and spines on his back move it just looks completely unnatural.

Sound 8/10 -
Hope your ready for me talking way to long about music again! I'll start with level themes this time around, Emerald Coast is the perfect introduction to 3D Sonic games with it's peaceful beach setting really sold through the music. Speed Highway's music is iconic for a reason it fits perfectly with the fast paced highway it was made for because you truly go up and down and all around. Something that should be noted regarding level themes is a lot of the tracks are remade versions of Sonic 3D Blast tracks which is really neat that Jun Senoue liked the tracks enough that he composed that he decided they should get to be enjoyed by a way larger audience, I wish I had more to say regarding it but 3D Blast is one of the Sonic games I've played the least of so I unfortunately can't say anything else on it. Sonic Adventure 2

Live and Learn
Heyo people of Vizzed today I for some reason decided let me review Sonic Adventure 2 for some reason. I've played a ton of Adventure 2 so this will once again be very bias.

Graphics 5/10 -
Graphics is not one this game's strong point they may consider adventure 2's port HD but it definitely doesn't look it. Animation wise while there's nothing special here it definitely get's the job done and is a big step up over the first Sonic Adventure.

Sound 8/10 -
This is almost certainly the most iconic soundtrack in the Sonic Series between character themes and level themes so get ready for another rambling about music segment. Starting with character themes I would argue they made each character theme fit even better with the character it represents compared to the first adventure game. For starters It Doesn't Matter being much more fast paced will always fit Sonic more even if I heavily prefer the Original version of the song. I don't have much to say for Tails and Knuckles if anything the first adventure titles did about the same with them. So to cover the new songs we have to start with Shadow with his theme Throw It All Away and I honestly don't even know how to begin describing a lot of things in this song. I guess to give it an attempt it feels mysterious which is very fitting for Shadow in his debut game. Rouge's theme Fly in the Freedom feels like a jazzy spy theme which fits perfectly for the bat obsessed with stealing gems. E.G.G.M.A.N. is the perfect Eggman theme and anytime they want Eggman taken seriously just bring this theme back and it instantly sells the feel of Eggman means business. Before talking about level themes I have to talk about Live and Learn Crush 40's most iconic song by far while it's never been my favorite I can completely understand why it's likely the first song many people think of when they think of Sonic. As I get older I seem to understand the lyrics more bit by bit and makes me appreciate... Read the rest of this Review
Chicken Invaders 2

Kill the Chicken!!!
How fitting that I would finally review the game that started my love for gaming in general and is fittingly ironic for the fact of what would happen years later to me involving chickens. This probably won't be as long as some of my other reviews based solely on the fact there's not as much that I really can talk about with this game.

Graphics 6/10 -
The graphics in this game are okay nothing really blows me away though I will say that the different weapons all look different and look nice for the time this game released or well originally released. The chickens are all perfectly ugly and I don't mean they look bad graphically.

Sound 6/10 -
I can only recall two songs ever really playing in this game and that's on the opening to the game and during little cutscenes in between worlds but that's alright cause the song for the opening is a bop and the song for cutscenes works perfectly for the comedic tone. However with the remaster the default OST completely changes the music and ruins it going for a more Star Wars sounding track that doesn't really feel special and honestly feels pretty generic.

Addictive 7/10 -
The game can be decently addictive challenging you to beat it. As a young kid I always wanted to play and beat the game but never could cause I lacked the skill needed but as an adult I can have a fun time playing through the whole game in one sitting. I think the game can be fun to replay until you beat it once you do that you don't have much reason to come back to it again and again or anything.

Story 5/10 -
The story is really simple but works really well for this being a more arcade like title. To give my normal run down just when it seems all of the evil chicken invaders are wiped out a whole other wave chases down the hero forcing him to go through the galaxy to wipe them out.

Depth 7/10 -
Chicken Invaders 2 probably sounds really simple fro... Read the rest of this Review
Mario & Sonic at the London 2012 Olympic Games
07-04-21 11:33 PM
Top Tier Party Game
Mario and Sonic at the London 2012 Olympic Games! This oddly enough is one of my favorite games on the Wii I honestly think it's great. For the rest of the review I'm going to shorten the title to "London 2012".

Graphics 8/10 -
One advantage this game gets from coming out so late into the Wii's life cycle is it honestly looks way better than it has any right to for a Wii party game. If I had to pick something to nitpick I'm not the biggest fan of some of the character models like on the Sonic side of things I think all of the Mario characters look fine but the Sonic cast look off compared to other titles but it's still probably some of the best models they got on the Wii.

Sound 10/10 -
I didn't realize how hard this soundtrack went until I started listening to it to write about it. I think the reason I was highly underrated this soundtrack for years is way back in like 2013 I set all of my songs to be how I wanted them at the time cause you can unlock music and set what songs you want where in the game (shout out Sonic Heroes for Football (Soccer) it for some reason just works) and I replaced most of the remixes made for the dream events and the original songs made for the events with the music I unlocked so I hadn't heard most of the tracks for years. I'm really shocked how hard some of the remixes go like I know people hate the New Super Mario Bros athletic theme cause it's used in like 3 Mario games but the remix for it in this game is crazy good.

Addictive 10/10 -
The thing that makes this game for me is the Olympic events where I would say a vast majority are at least a 7/10 and there's a couple that would be even higher. One of those such events is Rhythmic Ribbon where I'm nigh unstoppable I legit think the only time I've ever lost that event is the very first time I played it I always play with Csikós Post as my song of choice and as ridiculous as it is to see Sonic perform a dance ro... Mario Kart Double Dash

The Best Mario Kart
Are you ready for another really bias review? Good cause I'm not either but I'm doing it anyway Mario Kart Double Dash is the game for years I thought was likely to be my favorite game of all time before I played Persona 5 and that was proven wrong but with that being said let's dive into it!

Gameplay 10/10 -
The single thing that makes Double Dash stand out so much vs any other Mario Kart is the fact you have 2 racers on a kart and this affects a lot more than you would think. For starters Each character has their own special item only they can get from item boxes so the Mario bros for example have fireballs and Dk and Diddy have a giant banana. Something else that makes this game feel special compared to the other Mario Karts is the control the drift in this game feels really loose and I just love how it feels drifting on courses that you don't have much margin for error on. Double Dash's biggest defining feature is probably the sheer chaos that happens in a Double Dash race compared to if you played a typical race in Mario Kart Wii for example, there can be giant shells bouncing all over the place, giant bananas blocking the way forward, and red shells flung all over the course it's absolute chaos where anything can happen.

Graphics 9/10 -
Double Dash looks great for a GameCube title and the tracks are vibrant as ever. All the kart designs are nice to look at as well, if I had a complaint I would say the game could of used more karts if anything.

Sound 10/10 -
Double Dash has an amazing soundtrack it really sells the chaos of the gameplay with it's faster paced tracks still reminds you to stay on your toes for less chaotic tracks.
I really adore some of the voice acting in this title my favorite lines that I gotta sneak somewhere in here are Hi I'm Daisy! when you switch over to Daisy and of course who could forget Yeehaw! Hi I'm Daisy! whenever you win a race as Daisy. I also wanna hi... Read the rest of this Review
Sonic Heroes

The best Sonic game?
This is yet another game where going into writing this review I knew I would be super biased cause Sonic Heroes is my favorite Sonic game. This is one of the couple games I have the most nostalgia for so if I'm super positive on certain aspects can't say I didn't warn you.

Graphics 7/10 -
While many people dislike the art style for this game claiming it's very plastic I think in game it looks really good. I will say that at times the models can be to shiny which is kind of distracting at points. If we turn our attention to the settings in this game I honestly would argue it's the best sonic game on the consoles it's released on when it comes to settings and just how colorful the world can be it really feels like the classic games in 3d.

Sound 10/10 -
The soundtrack is definitely up there as one of Sonic's best and that says something when the series is known to always have good music. There's just to many tracks to try and name and talk about all of them but I'll give it an attempt anyway. Seaside Hill is the perfect theme for getting a player into playing the game it's so energetic and makes you just wanna keep on going. Grand Metropolis is fantastic and fits for the hi tech city. I really adore how Hang Castle and Mystic Mansion both have a spooky vibe but still can be funky. Egg Fleet is so high energy for one of the final stages it's gives me a rush to go through the level going on battleship after battleship hearing that theme. I of course can't skip over the vocal themes for this game Crush 40 did god tier work with Sonic Heroes (the song) and What I'm Made Of which is their favorite song to perform and I can't blame them one bit. Each team also got their own theme which all fit them perfectly Team Sonic got We Can which is perfectly cheesy for this game. Team Dark got This Machine which fits perfect for the team that formed just at the start of this game covering some of the mysteries about the team. Team Rose got... Read the rest of this Review
Persona 4 Golden

This game is a Golden time
Heyo people of Vizzed today I'm reviewing Persona 4 Golden since it only makes sense to cover it since I've already covered both versions of P5. This game however is really hard for me to review but I'll get into that more when I need to.

Graphics 8/10 -
I really like how this game looks it's a lot simpler than what comes after it but for a PS2 title which was then moved and upgraded to the Vita and then ported to Steam it looks really nice. The standout in the graphics department is definitely the animated scenes provided by A-1 Pictures I imagine with the right hardware this is how they always wanted the game to look.

Sound 10/10 -
I'll try not to fan girl as hard as I did for P5's OST but even with me saying that it's hard not to when the game has great tracks like Reach Out to the Truth, that being said I'll stop right there we don't need me listing the entire soundtrack again. Even with me loving the OST I still would say the more pop style doesn't as easily appeal to me compared to other titles music. Something I will say though even if you dislike certain songs at first they probably have a good chance to grow on you as you play the game like I hated Reach Out to the Truth when I first heard it but now it's my favorite song from the game.

Addictive 10/10 -
This game is so fun to play the small adjustments made to this title over the original PS2 version makes it so much fun to replay. One of my favorite things about this game is the ability to change how much EXP you earn so when you replay the game you don't have to grind just by increasing your EXP earned in fights. Another reason this game is replayable is how Shuffle Time is handled in shuffle time you can get boosts for your current equipped persona so you could realistically use any persona you want and grind it's stats if you really wanted to which can make challenge runs fun if you wanna replay the game. Yet another thing I love ab... Read the rest of this Review
Persona 5 Royal

Take Your Heart
(Spoiler Warning!)

Heyo people of the land of V I am back after an entire year after my initial review of Persona 5 to tell you how someway somehow Royal is better in so many ways. I will warn you now that I will be spoiling the story and different aspects of the game that have changed so if you don't want spoiled click back to the main page now, also I have extreme bias towards this game so I hope you don't mind. :P

Graphics 10/10 -
The graphics from the base game aren't that heavily changed so you might think there's nothing to say except how incredible the graphic design and UI's are which while true is not the only thing that needs brought up this time around. Persona 5 Royal actually made the UI design even better by showing different effects in it based on what season it is so for example in spring on the phone and by the dates you might see cherry blossoms it's an entirely unneeded addition to the game but it makes an already beautiful user interface even better. Speaking of graphic design and UI the game is stunning in how it makes different actions feel so incredibly stylish, such as all out attacks and the new showtime attacks mixing stylish animation with fantastic art in the case of all out attacks.

Sound 11/10 -
I legit had to rank the sound an 11, 10 is not high enough to even begin telling how they made a masterpiece of an OST even better. I spent a large amount of time in review of the base game talking about how incredible songs such as Last Surprise and Life Will Change are and all those songs are still here and now there's even more. Something I do wanna bring up that I didn't touch on last time is the use of leitmotif in different songs such as the way Wake Up, Get Up, Get Out There and Life Will Change share similar instrumentation in the chorus and lyrics, there's many more examples of this throughout the game. When it comes to new music for Royal all the new songs are incredible I p... Read the rest of this Review
Super Mario Sunshine

Shine Get!
With the GameCube coming out everyone was wondering how Nintendo would follow-up the success of Mario 64 however, they would have to wait a bit longer than they might of thought at least they had Luigi's Mansion to hold them off. When it finally did come out I can only imagine that many were surprised to see the changes to gameplay and even story that were implemented in this game. I didn't grow up with this game unlike Super Mario 64 which really I didn't play till I was 13 but close enough I only finally got to play Super Mario Sunshine thanks to the release of Super Mario 3D All Stars which is what I'm using to review the game.

Gameplay 9/10 -

Leave it to Nintendo to somehow make Mario's movement even more smooth and crisp it's honestly impressive how good it feels to control Mario this time around, and what makes that even better is the inclusion of F.L.U.D.D. which can be used to hover to be more precise with where you wish to land mid air. Hovering is far from FLUDD's only use however, it also has a spray feature which is used to go insane looking for blue coins and for clearing off paint. FLUDD also has a rocket which can be used to send Mario flying far into the sky, and finally a turbo that is probably the least used power in the entire game. Yoshi also is included this time around and he keeps his flutter jump but now also has the ability to shoot liquids that have the power to turn enemies into platforms to jump on.

Graphics 9/10 -

I might be a bit bias on this part but I honestly believe Super Mario Sunshine to have some of the best graphics on the entire Nintendo GameCube and I don't believe that's just the Switch port I used to always be amazed seeing gameplay of it just how good the water looked and I still think it looks pretty good even after all this time. The other thing I have to give credit to when it comes to graphics is just the leap from Super Mario 64 to Super Mario Sunsh... Read the rest of this Review
Mega Man Bass 7

What does the scouter say about this game's rating?
This has got to be one of the games I was looking forward to the most ever which is funny because when I saw the first trailer I didn't think much of it but the game play made me buy into believing in this game and I don't regret it in the slightest.

Graphics 8/10 -
The game does a great job catching the feel of the anime with the art style and it's amazing cut scenes where sometimes I'd argue somethings were done better then the actual show did them itself. The only reason this isn't higher is some of the over world textures can look really sub par for a game releasing in 2020, while not being the worst I've ever seen by far it did catch me off guard a few times.

Sound 9/10 -
I was honestly shocked with how much I liked the Soundtrack in this game it did an amazing job of using different sounding tracks for fights as well as mixing in a lot from the original Japanese score with new remixes that are very faithful and respectful to the original versions of the tracks. This is probably to be expected but the sound captures the attacks from the show perfectly. The only part of sound design holding the game back is the fact of how often certain lines can be repeated during game play in the over world it can become annoying during the 30-40 hours you spend doing so.

Addictive 7/10 -
This part of the game is slightly hard to rate based on the fact that I couldn't put the game down when I started playing until I beat the game. At the same time I can't honestly see myself coming back to the game any time soon. In the end I decided to put it a bit lower then I wanted to but based on how I don't know when I would get around to replaying it from just wanting to I think this is a fair placement.

Story N/A -
I didn't think it was fair to rate the game's story due to how it's just a remake of an anime however if I was to rate it based on how well it adapted said scenes ... Read the rest of this Review
Persona 5

The Greatest Treasure Of All
Heyo today I'm going to be the most biased reviewer ever as I review my favorite game of all time Persona 5. When it comes to this game I can only try my best to be fair but I adore this game more than any other.

Graphics 10/10 -
Perhaps the most amazing thing about this game is it's graphic design and it's UI, the menus in this game beat every other game I've ever played by such a large margin that I don't even know how to begin to describe how stylish this game is. The graphics are what you would expect of an anime looking game this late in the PS3 life cycle, it's hard to find anything to complain about. I also have to mention the game's art is outstanding in particular when you finish a fight with an all out attack the artwork along with the UI is just phenomenal.

Sound 10/10 -
The sound design is amazing throughout the game, I'll go ahead and say that I played with the Japanese cast so when I say I had no issues with any voice actors know I'm not referring to the English cast. I of course would be the worst reviewer on the planet if I didn't mention this game's fantastic soundtrack. The battle theme alone Last Surprise is sure to play in your head for long after you finish this game, speaking of battle themes one of the boss themes Rivers In The Desert is one of the best boss themes you will ever hear. I haven't yet mentioned one of my top three favorite songs ever Life Will Change, it plays when you infiltrate a palace after sending a calling card and it makes for one of the most amazing feelings I've ever experienced in a game it just screams the feel of "We're coming to take you down" and I can't do it justice even listening to the song without playing the game I can't promise will give the same feel. On a more peaceful note Beneath The Mask plays as a background theme as you go through the day to day life and it's super relaxing and honestly can be calming to listen to on a stressful day. DRAGON BALL XENOVERSE

Dragon Ball Xenoverse Review
I didn't think I would be in the mood to touch the first Xenoverse after reviewing Xenoverse 2 but here we are. I had to go play it for a refresher and it was honestly shocking and eye opening to play it after 500 hours of the second game.

Gameplay 5/10 -
Xenoverse combat is very basic for the most part and has huge flaws that honestly ruin the game but I'm getting ahead of myself. The game has a combo system ran off of 2 buttons and the combos are determined by how much you press the buttons and in what order, for some reason this game has a easy to do combo loop which can ruin the fights with ai. The game has a ki system and stamina system, the ki is used for strike and ki supers as well as ultimate's while stamina is used for teleporting out of combos as well as evasives in the case of being in a bad situation. What ruins all of this is the fact that super saiyan in this game works in a way where your ki is drained however the whole time the transformation is active using skills take's no ki at all meaning you can spam ultimate's endlessly with nothing to worry about most of the time because to break stamina you have to be up close to a person to do so to prevent an ultimate which can be hard to do when they fire ultimate's every second. The kicker is the ai can do this as well so if you pick any race other than saiyan you're at an instant disadvantage because the other race's only get kaioken or potential unlocked if you have a certain dlc pack.

Graphics 6/10 -
The game has decent graphics for the most part nothing looks poorly textured but the game is held back by being developed for last gen consoles at the same time as new gen. Animation wise the game is pretty decent during combat moves but really falters with in game rendered scenes with the character doing the same animation endlessly until you press the next button on dialogue.

Minecraft Review
I wanna start the review by saying I will only be talking about vanilla Minecraft without multiplayer, if I talked about multiplayer I would be here for weeks.

Gameplay 9/10 -
The game is played how you wanna play it what I mean is that you could spend all your time fighting mobs and mining or building whatever your heart desires. I'm not much of a builder but I'll try to cover how much the game offers to build with later, for now I wanna talk about how the combat works. The combat update introduced in 1.9 really changed how the game is played, it added weapon cool down which for fighting mobs is a lot more balanced then the spam clicking we use to have for the game. They also re-balanced the sword and axe to have different uses in combat the sword is faster and can hit more than one enemy at a time while the axe is slower does more damage and can disable shields. It also added many arrow effects you could choose to use but aren't very useful for mobs. Crossbows were also added in the past year and while looking and feeling cool to use they aren't very useful to play with because of the fact power is impossible to get on the said weapon. Even with some of the weapons not having much a point in combat the fact the game gives you options is fun to play with and makes it exciting to try new things while fighting the many mobs you will encounter.

Graphics 7/10 -
The graphics are far from impressive even for a game released in 2011, however the game's animations can shine with items such as the totem of undying or the elder guardian jump scare.

Sound 8/10 -
Many of the sounds in the game are iconic, it could be the terrifying sound of a creeper hiss behind you or the villager hmmmm noises the sounds are all very unique and fitting to the creatures. The soundtrack is very ambient and relaxing with it's nice calming piano tracks. The game can play random noises sometimes that when it's... Read the rest of this Review
Dragon Ball: Xenoverse 2

Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 Review
It might be odd to do a review of a sequel before reviewing the first game however it's been years since I last touched Xenoverse one so I would need a major refresher to dare review that game. I also for the most part am leaving out Hero Coliseum from the review cause including the gameplay and everything of that would make this review twice as long.

Gameplay 8/10 -
The combat system can seem slightly basic in this game your combos are all done with 2 buttons and the combos are all determined by how many times you hit X or Y or a combination of them both. You also have options to knock back the enemy and then to pursue them and the option to attack the front or the back of the opponent, knocking them away can also be used to use super attacks which I'll get into during the depth part of the review. One of the major elements of the gameplay is your stamina and ki, you need stamina for evasive's to get out of dangerous situations and to teleport behind your opponent to get out of a combo or to continue one and you need ki for supers and ultimate's. Players have to keep a close eye on their stamina to avoid getting stamina broke which can be done by hitting a player with one or if they simply use all of their stamina, where they cant block or fly fast and are pretty much defenseless you can also preform perfect blocks by blocking at the second you would get hit and lower the enemy's stamina. There was also limit burst's introduced in one of the free updates which can be activated once a fight in a pinch for a boost to attack, give you super armor, or make you regenerate health for a while. While it seems basic at first the combat is a major improvement over the first game in the series.

Graphics 8/10 -
The game was left off of last generation systems in part to improve the graphics and it really payed off the lighting looks miles better then Xenoverse ever did. When it comes to animation the in game rendered s... Read the rest of this Review
