Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends review
Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends is a game based off the popular cartoon of the same name. You play as the two main characters from the show, Mac and Bloo as you go around levels based off episodes from the show. And you meet characters from the show like Coco, Wilt, Frankie, and some others. While it is nice to see familiar characters I feel like they could have added more. But the characters they did add they did a good job on with their personalities. And the graphics represent them very well. The graphics are another thing about the game that I like. If it was another series I would say they're bad, but it was a cartoon for kids. The music is also really good. They did a good job with the theme song and the in game music. But gameplay isn't this game's strongest point. All the level are rather repetitive and have the same objective, it's all just one big fetch-quest. But the boss battles are kind of cool, and a little less repetitive. Every boss battle you face Terence, Mac's older brother, but they do throw in a few new things to at least keep it a little fresh. You also have weapons to fight off enemies with. Bloo gets paper ball for the whole game, and Mac gets a slingshot after you beat Terence for the first time. And if you collect enough tickets for the Game Hive you can turn the ammo for your weapons into the squeaky elephant from an episode of the cartoon. It's a nice touch. While the game is no master piece it does represent the show well, and as a long-time fan I enjoyed it.
