On May 19, 2007 a player named Axeil began a particularly horrible playthrough on the Something Awful LP forums. Tricks that I had always considered to be 'easy' to perform took him dozens of tries and hours to execute. This was the first time that I admitted my hack (Super Metroid Redesign) had some severe issues that needed to be addressed.

I spent hours studying videos of playthroughs in order to find poor design choices. Room by room, tile by tile. I changed where the players had difficulties. After 9 years in the making, 'Axeil Edition' is complete.

Every choke point analyzed for a solution. Expert skill made automated. Redesign... Reborn.
