Is there a way to change the controls on the Mugen64 emulator? The menu just won't pop up.

For those who don't go to the thread in the link, here is the gist of it: There is a patch that can fix the problem, but davideo7 is busy with things and requests help.

He needs someone to do the following:

1. patch the rom

2. confirm that the patch really works

3. Send the patched rom to Davideo7.

There is a 2000 Viz reward offered for doing so.

I am unable to do this for severable reasons, and that is why davideo7 recommended that I make the thread requesting help.

My thread wasn't successful in getting that help, though. Hopefully, someone will act this time.

I have been discussing the sensor issue in the Boktai games with Davideo7. Apparently, there is a patch for each game that addresses the solar sensor issue.

Davideo7 had asked me to do the following:

1. Patch the rom
2. Verify that it works
3. Send him a copy of the patched rom.

There are several things that hinder me from doing this. However, I thought that someone else might be able to do this instead. That is why I am asking for help via this thread.

Please send the results to Davideo7. I am just passing this message along, and I am in no position to verify things myself.

Quick question: Should people give direct links? I wasn't sure if that was okay, since the links could be to an untrustworthy site.

The purpose of this thread is:

1. To locate translation patches for games on this site. Complete, high-quality patches are preferred, BUT keeping an eye open for patches in progress is okay, as well as discussing what games need patches.

2. Bring awareness of their existence to vizzed staffers.

Please note that just finding a translation patch does NOT guaranteed it will be added to the site, BUT the chances of that happening are higher if people know it exists.

Please state the name of the game the patch is for, who made the patch, and the language that the game has with the patch. Here's what DarkHyren said concerning direct links:

"On the matter of direct links I think it's ok if it's a link to the patch authors website or to safe sites like romhackingdotnet but apart from that it's tricky to tell.
Bascially maybe just put up a caution stating that you dont personally know if the links are safe or not so people should visit at their own risk."


Discussion about patches is STRONGLY encouraged. Vetting each patch is very important, so as to avoid trouble in the future. Also, discussion of the games with/needing translations is encouraged as well. Keeping an eye on in-progress patches is allowed.

I appreciate the save states a lot. I do have a question, however.

In Mega Man Battle Chip Challenge, there are six characters, but only two save slots.

I would like to play all the characters without erasing data, but I don't see how. Any adivce? I rather not have multiple accounts (I think that's against the rules, anyways).

There are some Japanese language-only games that I would like to play, but I simply don't understand the language.

There are translation patches out there on the internet for some of these games, but only some translated games are on this site.

I was wondering if we could match the translation patches to the games on this site. Rock Man EXE 4.5 is an example: The game is on this site, and there is a translation patch out there, but the patch has not been added.

I know there are some translated games on this site, and I thank you for this. I would like to help add more to that number.

I would first like to know if this idea is even plausible.

If it is, then would it be alright to establish an unofficial thread for finding and alerting the vizzed staff to the existence of translation patches that can be combined with games on this site? Or assign that purpose to this thread? If this thread is assigned that purpose, I will edit it to accommodate the change.

I agree. I'm wanting to make a thread, but I'm not sure if it has been done before. A search function for the board would be great, especially because redundant topics are a no-no.
