Nah, I rarely get bored... and when I do get bored, I'm generally trying to find anything possible to reduce the level of boredom.

Can someone like trash this thread... seeing as how I provoked a war (as usual, my thinking is far to complex for everyone else)...

So like, kill this thread or something...

SuperCrash64 : Technically I'm not swearing, all I put was a**... for all you know I could have put "all".

Do you expect everyone to know what a** means?

Geeogree, please do me the favor and trash this thread... that way I don't have to make anyone else flip out or anything, my apologies for thinking wisely... I shouldn't have tried to go all Einstein on everyone.

earthwarrior : If you have a problem with me summoning you, then why don't you get the mods. Seriously, you are acting so childish right now... but then again, after all... you are only 13 years old, you said it yourself. Funny thing is, for being 13 years old... how come you are constantly going to "general chat" when in the chat rooms... when really you should be in the kiddie chat, hmmm?

And secondly, you actually should like READ what I'm posting... and not just let your a** overrun your mouth.

I didn't say ALL threads or all posts, most posts are commonly short... this is not a problem, but when you start some random a** thread in some random a** forum with only this in it:

"Hey, I'm new here and I wanted this to be my first thread"

And the person didn't even put it in the INTRODUCTIONS part of the forum, but instead put it in the "GENERAL" thread... it's kind of like "uhm, do you not see the area that says "introductions"?"

Like seriously, obviously your brain can't handle this... since you're becoming annoyed with what I have to say and you're not even trying to make sense of what I have to say... so I'll make it in "kid" terms for you, okay little man?

1: Posts don't have to be any specific length, nor does MOST threads... but if the thread is a game review or something similar, then it should be at least 50 words.

Cause come on, if you post something about a game in the reviews section and all you say is "I liked this games, zombies are cool"... then it's pretty much spam in a sense. Cause then heck, why don't all of us just post that we liked the game and nothing else?

2: Not all threads have to be 50 words or more, heck, they don't even have to be 20 words... but if it's some kind of "serious" thread, then you should actually put some effort into it... otherwise typing up "so, there was a tornado today... anyone else heard about it?" kind of makes you look like a complete moron for asking a stupid question.

I mean seriously, this is the internet... every time something new happens that the world must know about, it spreads all over the internet like a wildfire. Oklahoma Tornados all over youtube and all over google and everything else...

But then you have some newbie post something like "so, heard about those tornados in oklahoma?" and it's just like "are you kidding me... dude, check youtube man... duh"

Remember earthwarrior, not all posts have to be reasonable in my opinion... but at least make it something worth reading besides "this was a fun game".

Like come on, you posted it in reviews... so I would naturally be expecting a review, not just a quick opinion.

Understand, or do I have to drop my IQ some more and speak in even younger terms using pictures of cute little animals and stuff?

****UPDATE****

Also Geeogree agreed with me, so yeah... bad idea still even when a global mod thinks its a good idea?

GenesisJunkie : They're probably called "board" games because they are boring...

Well, to be honest... not all "board" games are boring, Monopoly is pretty amusing... I kind of can't think of any others that I would want to play.

marcus047 : Okay, let me re-explain this... I don't care about posts per se, I care about posts that are the starting thread.

Technically, it's still a post... but its the post that started the thread. I care about threads that are less than 50 words when it comes to things like reviews and game updates, and so on.

When it comes to the standard reply such as this one, I don't care if you put even 20 words... heck, put 5 words for all I care.

Nobody really was reading my first post on here (which is the start of the thread) that narrowed it all down... I don't mind posts being short, that's normal... many of us really don't want to type out 100+ words per post, heck I'm already at about 140 by now.

But at the same time, I know some threads don't have to be full of words because some of them are just for laughs or to see what others think... generally those ones are listed under questions and polls, or under other "important" and "meaningful" sub-forums. Those are kind of common and everyone can take a gander at...

But when you post a review saying something like this:

"So I was playing this game and well it was really difficult. I had a hard time, but it was fun and I figured I would make a review about it. There are a lot of enemies and a lot of challenges in this game, but some of them are easy. This is a good game and you should play it."

Like that isn't even 100 words, I'm sure of it (looks like 52 words plus a few single letters used as words like "I" and "a"), so that obviously shouldn't even be allowed to be a review... there isn't enough detail, not enough insight, not enough explanation.

Look at it this way, why post a review... if all you're going to say is "i liked it" x 10 or something? At least follow what everyone else does, I mean heck... if they are making reviews, then I'm sure they are viewing other reviews... and most of them have that little layout like this:

Graphics:

Sound:

Addictiveness:

Story:

Depth:

Difficulty:

And at most, each section has like 30 words or more... so that's about 180 words or more.

Or, if this can't be resolved that way... why not just contain the newbies to the newbies area... us members will still come in and chat in there if the newbies would like to talk... but at least our forums won't be filled up with stuff like:

"Hey I'm new here, so I wanted this to be my first thread."

Or something like that...

marcus047 : Well, if anyone was reading my thread... it was about when you "start a thread". Posts, I can understand... especially with so many people posting constantly... you never know when yours might just disappear because of all the other smaller posts... so might as well just follow along. For posts, I expect at least a sentence (which is about 20 words, maybe a little less depending on what you are replying to)... but in threads, obviously if you are trying to say something important... shouldn't you make it sound important?

Now if you are STARTING a new thread or making a review, that should be at least 50-100 words for a new thread and at least 100+ words for a review... after all, when you "start" something. But at the same time, I know some areas of this don't have to be all that "filled out" simply because those areas aren't designed for heavy conversations... in places such as general chat, reviews, and so on... each thread should be starting out with around 20+ words and hopefully at least 50+ words.

I can understand if you're doing a poll, obviously it's going to be kind of stupid to explain what soda is or what pokemon is... cause by now people can stop being lazy and look it up, so you have the right to be short there... but if you're doing a deep conversation kind of thread or you're doing a review... it should be pretty dang long, otherwise you just kind of wasted our time cause we were hoping to see what you had to say... but instead all you give is "oh, that's a fun game... I enjoyed it."

Then it's like "gee, you don't say...", get what I'm saying?

earthwarrior : You're fighting a losing war my friend... especially when you posted earlier-

"There are some threads that should be short. Like in the crazy house there are some threads with less than 50 words. If this happens then we will start to see less threads being made which would hurt the site."

I didn't start that thread that you posted a link to, so don't look at me like I did something wrong... most of your posts are less than 50 words as well... so you can't exactly talk (especially since you've been here longer than me); and remember I said if you START a thread or review it should be at least 50 words or more... so trying to jump on me, kind of doesn't work when you can't even remember what you previously said.

So yeah, let's keep crazy house threads short... since well, it's a place to be crazy... but come on, a lot of these review threads are pretty dang short and don't even give enough information.

Whenever I actually do get a chance to dream, I honestly cannot say that it is "lucid".

Most of the time I end up being in a completely dark room with no windows and no doors... just walls, and then suddenly the walls begin to close in on me as my body gets squeezed between them before I suddenly wake up, looking around nervously before going back into a deep slumber... where I no longer dream and end up feeling like I went to sleep and woke up seconds later (when actually it's been like 6 hours or more).

earthwarrior : See, this is the problem with "kids". Now, pay CLOSE attention my friend... I didn't say you had to smack them for everything, but giving them nothing but hugs and kisses won't solve anything. That's like giving drunk people a prize for crashing their car. "Congrats on getting in a car accident, here's your prize".

Secondly, apparently my thread must be pretty good then... since the mods aren't removing it, now are they? If it was flaming, they would have removed it... wouldn't they? So there you go insulting the mods, since if my thread is flaming... then obviously you're saying that they just aren't bright enough to notice it. So either I'm a genius, or the mods are blind... that's kind of what you are hinting a even in the smallest of ways. Otherwise, by now... this would have been sent to the trash can, but it's still here... so it's a topic at hand that they might be thinking about.

Thirdly, now saying that being a moderator means you need to solve every problem because people can't be smart enough to figure it out themselves is both an insult to mods and to the posters. On one hand you are insulting people because you summon mods to fix a problem they couldn't fix themselves, and on the other hand... you are summoning mods to fix something that they probably could have noticed on their own, since after all... you did say "why be a local mod, if they can't handle it?"

Fourthly, you should try and review your own posts mr. earthwarror... about 5 minutes ago you commented on someone's post asking questions about their post, and instead of fixing it... all they did was "reply" to you. Therefore, you are kind of requesting them to put more information... you're just being too much of a sissy to tell them that straight up.

Fifthly, I also gave some ALTERNATE ideas that could solve this issue... such as giving them a guide, or restricting them from making reviews, or something else... I figure it this way:

You get 2 chances... 1st chance for everyone to criticize you and tell you what you are doing wrong, then the 2nd chance will be for you to learn from your mistakes.

It's a pretty simple process really, it seems logical and easier than constantly requesting moderators to remove a thread because it is short or because it is a copy of some other thread.

Also, in response to other people... why not just leave all the newbies in the NEWBIE zone. Like seriously, rather than having the fill up the member area with their constant short posts... that's kind of why we have a newbie area on here, for newbies. That way, us members or higher can criticize them and give them some help and insight on how to use this website.

So you can't tell me "I'm not trying to help", but apparently your logic is ruined by your inability to hold a decent conversation.

I'm just saying... a child cannot learn if all you do is baby them.

Also, if it was child abuse... I would actually have smacked them all around by now, at the moment... my hand isn't able to go through the screen and out the other side, so I can't smack them... even if I wanted to.

Local Mods: Please send this thread to the trash, after all... it's flaming or something, so also please deduct points and such since people can't have a logical conversation.
earthwarrior : See, this is the problem with "kids".

On one hand you are insulting people because you summon mods to fix a problem they couldn't fix themselves, and on the other hand... you are summoning mods to fix something that they probably could have noticed on their own, since after all... you did say "why be a local mod, if they can't handle it?"

polo5885 : Magnificent job polo5885, you did an excellent job at reviewing this game. You added detail, you added common sense and you added logic. You gave us a little insight into why this game should or shouldn't be played, and you posted 100 words or more... you have made vizzed proud by showing you are indeed respectful with your reviews. Kudos my friend, kudos!

Razor-987 : Well, the way I see it... I think all newbies should be at least required to read the rules or something you know? Like yeah... if we can't get them to post 50 or more words since they have school and all (which if they have school and all, they shouldn't be here... and why would you be here if you weren't busy? Cause if you are busy, then you shouldn't be here... duh, common sense).

I just figured, the only way to teach someone something new is to actually teach them... to guide them. But if all you do is pat them on the back and say "better luck next time", it's kind of like saying "it's alright, you did your best." Even though they didn't really even do anything.

Like I said, I understand where everyone is coming from... but even a newbie should know how to read, and if they know how to read... then they should know the rules or at least read them.

That way, if they have questions... they can always post those questions as a thread, which would make the thread about 40 words or more depending on how many questions they have.

Plus, if they have the time to make a thread and then read our replies... they obviously have the time to make a long reply since most of our replies are pretty long if I do say so myself.

Pikachu-12 : Bravo, you have made me proud... and I'm being completely honest about this, you have done a such a wonderful job explaining why it's so horrible that I actually believe you.

Sure, it's a game that I might like... but you gave me reasons why I shouldn't play it, rather than posting "you shouldn't play it" and then posting nothing else. I am proud of you, and please continue doing more reviews... whether or not you like or dislike the game, at least you are giving some reasonable reasons why.

austipokedude : That, I am sure we can agree on... but couldn't they spam doing the same thing with LESS to post? Like using spam as a "shield" for this subject kind of won't work. They can spam just as much posting little posts with just a few words, the same amount they could do spamming with a whole paragraph.

At least if you spam with a paragraph, that means you actually thought of something to say besides "I don't like this". Then all they would have to do is make a review for each game saying "I don't like this."

Seriously, spam cannot be your little "excuse" for this... they can spam just as much if they didn't post anything at all than if they would have posted a whole bunch. Either way, they would get banned... and how about this banned ordeal, from what I have heard from other members... banned members can still come on here and send private messages to people... so that's not going to fix the spamming and trolling thing either.

Remember, you guys have to think outside the box... that way, when someone steps into the box... they won't break it. Heck, I just earned a trust point... want to know why, cause I'm honest and I understand both sides.

On one hand, yeah... they deserve a break... but on the other hand, they don't deserve breaks all the time. And then many people post in their short little things LOCAL MODS and then the mods show up and have to resolve an issue that could have been probably stopped if they were required to post more.

Heck, even earthwarrior was insulting their intelligence apparently... saying that they don't need to post more because they are newbies. Makes sense, because you're a newbie... you're stupid, so you don't need to post a lot. Until you become a member, then you can be stupid.

With me, I'm trying to come up with some sort of solution or idea as a way to help people on here do better... like how's about this, the moment someone new joins... it automatically takes them to the rules, then they will be judged based on the rules and then they will be required to post a 50 word paragraph in response.

How's about that... that way ahead of time you know who isn't willing to try and who is willing to try.

Seriously, just because they are newbies doesn't mean they CAN'T post a lot... and just because they are young doesn't mean they don't know how to post a lot. Heck, I know kids on facebook who can post up to 5 paragraphs of how much they hate someone... yet on here they can't post even 50 words on how much they love this game?

Where is the logic in that... hmmm?
