Alright, about a month into the season, so I'll give out some early predictions on division standings . This thread seems pretty lonely. Just zanderlex: haha. Let's get this started!

AL EAST
1st: Red Sox - Livin the homer life IK, but they're legit good, and when E-Rod is back rotation will be serviceable! With that plus offense, I think we can take it from O's.

2nd (WC): Baltimore Orioles - Chris Davis is good. Manny Machado is ridiculous. Orioles have been real solid last few years, I expect them to take WC 1 pretty easy this year

3rd: Toronto Blue Jays - Blue Jays are good, but outside of Donaldson-Bautista-EE they don't have much going. Plus Bautista and EE are getting up there in years, so I wouldn't bet on them mashing all season, I expect about .500 ball, no playoffs for them.

4th: Tampa Bay Rays - The Rays are the Rays still. They have pitching, but no hitting. Probably finish a bit under .500. Not much to say about them

5th: Yankees - Also homerish? Maybe, but their offensive pieces are getting old, having Miller-Betances-Chapman doesn't matter much when you can't score runs and your SP's are mediocre.

AL CENTRAL

1st: White Sox - Besides Danks (lol), they have ridiculous pitching. Just average offense will keep them atop the AL Central this year. Chris Sale's slider is unhittable.

2nd (WC): Royals - Royals have some voodoo magic going on. Defense is amazing, and they are just clutch. I think they dip down from last year, but they will still pull off WC 2 just barely above next team...

3rd: Tigers - Tigers have some good pieces, but I don't think they have the rotation to get it done this year. I expect Verlander to get back to Verlander form, but even then they don't have much. I'm having trouble naming one Tiger hitter outside of Miggy (who's starting to get up there a bit ...)

4th: Indians - Indians will do what they did last year. Kluber will be Kluber, but nothing noteworthy from them. I expect another .500 year from these guys.

5th: Twins - The Twins have been real unlucky, but even when playing at expected levels they aren't that good. Joe Mauer is back to form, Eduardo Nunez is a pleasant surprise, but other then that no one is really hitting. Miguel Sano needs to pick up some of the slack, which he is not doing right now.

AL WEST

1st: Rangers - The Rangers have some good guys in Andrus & obviously Hamels, Prince Fielder will pick it back up, and Adrian Beltre is a beautiful, beautiful man. This is the only team that stands out as <.500 in this division, so next predictions are a bit iffy.

2nd: Angels - Despite the awful, awful situation the Angels are in, I still think they finish 2nd a tad over .500. Mike Trout is Mike Trout and will drag this team from 72-90 to like 82-80. Pujols will hit better (how much better who knows. that contract tho :/) Jered Weaver defies all logic by pitching at a decent ERA with a fastball that dips into the low 80s!

3rd: Mariners - I feel real bad for Felix. Not many pitchers can pitch sub-2 ERA and end up with a losing record. Outside of Cano and Cruz, no one can really hit. This team reeks of just below .500

4th: Athletics - Even Rich Hill defying logic can't save this team. That guy has such a great story, only to be stuck on the A's, pretty much has gone unnoticed . I'm sure the A's would appreciate a bat like Donaldson in their lineup headlined by Josh Reddick and Jed Lowrie (lol). Billy Beane can't Moneyball his way up the standings this season.

5th: Astros - But it's still early in the season they say, They made the playoffs, they will bounce back!!!. The Astros severely over performed last year. Even if Keuchel was performing well, the rest of the rotation is garbage. They have two players with 1.000 OPS and yet they are still 7-15. I think Altuve and Rasmus are good, but they will not keep up that pace.

Alright, that's the AL, I will cover the NL in a separate post!

EDIT: Well, turns out when you try to post after you have already posted, not only does it not let you, but it then deletes the standings you spent the last 20 minutes writing. I won't give the NL blurbs, but I'll tell you about them in this post.

NL East
1st - Mets
2nd - Nationals
3rd - Marlins
4th - Phillies
5th - Braves

NL Central
1st - Cubs
2nd - Cardinals
3rd - Pirates
4th - Brewers
5th - Reds

NL West
1st - Giants
2nd - Dodgers
3rd - Diamondbacks
4th - Rockies
5th - Padres

If you want explanations for these, let me know, but I can't be bothered to write that whole thing out again.

Once in a Lifetime by Talking Heads. Weird song but really catchy. A few other suggestions for people I've been listening to a lot lately

Californication - RHCP
In Bloom - Nirvana
Bat Country - Avenge Sevenfold (only if ya like metal!)
Lightning Rod - Guster
A.M. 180 - Grandaddy

...about 2 years and 3 months to be exact. I doubt many of you here remember me, but I used to RP a lot back in the day. I'm not really sure how to re-introduce myself, or if I will even stay long, so I decided, what the hell (can I say hell on these forums haha), I'll look back through what I used to post. Looking back, I realized how much I've really changed over the past 2 years. I used to love reading and writing back then. I guess English classes killed any enjoyment I could get out of it :/. Maybe I'll drop by the Stories section and write some. I've also gotten way more into sports (go Pats/Sox/Bruins!!!), and even got playing time on my JV hockey team. I don't get bullied anymore (oh 7th grade you were not kind to me ), and surprisingly have friends outside of the internet!

Anyways, to end this barely-cohesive ramble, I wanna hear about how you guys have changed over the past two years. Tell me about yourself, how you've grown, and if anyone remembers me please say you do, or else I'll just feel like a crazy person making some insane post about the good 'ol days haha. I'm going to end this before I accidentally make this post a nonsensical essay

The TdV has started, and I am quite the Red Jersey person. I was thinking of what to do, and I thought of it. Write a story, one every day of January, excluding the 1st. So, I'm doing it. So, I guess, here we go. Chapter 1, begin.

Brian woke up in a lab. The flourecent lights pounding into his eyes, the sound of a heart monitor beeping, going faster and faster, his head screaming with pain. Questions racing through his head, why am I here, what is happening, where was I before this happened, everything going so fast, he couldn't keep up with himself.

Think, slow down, figure it out, slow down, he thought. He looked down his body. He was in a hospital gown, and his feet were chained to the table, along with his hands. Brian wracked his mind, for his last memory. He was at his home, yeah, it was the 15th of May, he was, with someone, they were sitting there, talking about something, speaking, but for the life of him he couldn't remember what.

He tried figuring out how long he had been awake. 5, 10 minutes? He wanted to keep track of it, even if it was quite loosely. He started to count. 100, 200, 1000. Time became more and more unbearable, the constant pounding of his head, the monitor, the thoughts, it was overwhelming.

1365, 1366, 1367; a door opened. Two shadowy figure walked in.

"He's awake. Should we start now?" Figure 1 said.

"I think so," Figure 2 replied.

Brian tried to scream. He tried so very hard, but nothing came out. No sound. He start violently slamming his arms and legs against the restraints, the only sound he could make were whispers.

"We removed your vocal chords as to keep you from alerting the others. We will explain the expirement, and why you were chosen, once the expiriment is over. All you need to know is that you have to find the way out." Figure 1 told Brian

Confusion, panic, fear, and anger all rushed through him. "Why me, why am I here, why is this happening," Suddenly, everything was spinning, everything going black, everything going black, everthing going black, darkness, and then silence.

He woke up. Still in the room, the figures staring at him.

"5 minutes, 32 seconds. That's got to be a record," the first figure said.

Brian once again attempted to yell, but still all that came out was air. "I'm dreaming, they aren't real, this can't be real," Brian thought to himself. The first Figure pulled out a needle, filled halfway with a purple liquid. Brian tried to pull his arm away in vain.

"The more you struggle, the more it will hurt. Find your way out," the second figure said. He injected the liquid into Brian's arm. They walked out of the room, and his head started pounding more and more. The lights got brighter, he started feeling like he was before. The darkness, it took his vision, his hearing, and took him under.

EideticMemory : Thanks dude, I was kind of rushed at the end, as it was getting late, so I had to rush an ending, I wanted to expand on what happened after he found his friend, and I had a different idea for how he would find out about his friend, but I ran out of time. Thanks for the feedback though

He told me not to go there. I should've listened, I should've but I didn't. I went, and now, I can't leave my room. I know he is out there, I can hear his footstep's; well, I should say it, as it really isn't definable as any sort of human. I don't know how much time I have to write it, so I will try to make this quick.

It started 3 days ago. The house had always been surrounded in rumors, myths, and stories of a creature lurking in their, waiting for one fool to go in there, to attack it, or something. Every story was different, but it went along the lines of when you entered, it watched you. The longer you stayed, the more of a chance it would find you, and if you stayed the night, and somehow managed to escape it, you were screwed, it would find you outside of the home, and kill you.

Like most of these stories, I thought it was completely fake. Another story made up by bored teenagers, to scare their friends to spend a night in an abandoned house. My friend fell for the bait, spent a night there. I live across the street from the house, and he went in with typical gear for the dare, a candle, a sleeping bag, and a few snacks. I didn't expect much to come from it, but it went bad.

I was up late on my PC, browsing around, reading random crap when I looked out of the window. He was near the window, with a candle obviously in his hand. He was running. He ran across the room, and the candle light faded away as he ran. I was slightly worried, but I summed it up to his own and my own paranoia.

He stayed there the entire night, and ran straight over to my house. I live in one of those houses that were separated halves, and have a neighbor living in the other half. He ran in to my house, spewing words about a figure. "A man, no, it," He told me. I started laughing, why should I believe him now.

"Don't go there. I saw it man, I-it was in there, it was watching me, I should've left when I first saw him man, don't go," he told me. He warned me, and I ignored it. I told him the fateful words, the ones I shouldn't have said, the words that killed me.

"I'll go in their tonight, just to prove nothing's in there," I told him.

And I did. I went, and I screwed myself over. I went there, that night. I brought a candle, a flashlight, a bag of Doritos, and a bottle of water. I went in at dusk, and took a look around. The dining room was to the left of the entrance, and what was a completely empty room connected to it. To the right of the entrance, there was a couch, an old TV from the '70s, and a old fashioned carpet. At the end of the TV room was a stairway, so I decided to go up it.

There was a room right across from the stairs, and a hallway going to the left. There were two more rooms, presumably bedrooms, and one more at the end of the hallway. There was also a hatch for the attic, which I was definitely avoiding. Even if at that point I didn't believe in it roaming around the house, I wasn't going in an attic or the basement, if I had found it during the night in an abandoned house.

I set up camp in the bedroom right next to the stairs. The room was not very large, with an empty bed in the corner of the room. I put the sleeping bag on the bed, and fell asleep with the candle in the other corner.

I woke up to the front door opening. I shot up, and went to grab the candle. It was half melted already, and it was supposed to last for 12 hours. I assumed it was around 2:00 AM then, as I went in the house at around 8. My thoughts went to the thing that my friend was talking about, but I realized it was probably him trying to scare me. I brought my stuff out, and walked downstairs.

"Dude, I know it's you, just jump out, scare me, haha very funny." I yelled. He didn't come out. I walked through the TV Room, into the dining room. That's when I saw it. The figure was somewhat human, but the head was too small, the body disfigured, like someone took this person, and smashed around their torso, like a clay figure.

I ran up to the room, pushed the bed in front of the door. Even if it was my friend, he was convincing as hell, and I was tired. I tried to fall asleep, but I couldn't. The footsteps, they were going around downstairs. I stayed in that room for an hour and a half, listening to the footsteps. Then they came upstairs. I still wasn't totally convinced, until I heard the noise it made. It was, bone chilling. Not a screech, not a human voice, but some sort of, indescribable noise. I can hear him making it right now, outside of my room.

I freaked. I started panicking, and he kept walking. Just walking. I was lying there, waiting for him to kill me. I was looking out the window, and waiting for the sun to rise. I saw rays, but before that, I heard a pounding on the door. It pounded for 5 minutes. Then it stopped. I heard the footsteps go downstairs, and the door open, and it left. I moved the bed, jumped down the stairs, and ran to the door. I sprinted to my friends house, I needed to be around him.

I got to his house, and pounded on the door. "I SAW IT DUDE, IT WAS REAL, I SHOULDN'T HAVE GONE, LET ME IN MAN, JUST LET ME IN, PLEASE, GOD..." I pleaded. He wouldn't open. I broke the window, and climbed in. I saw his body, hanging there. He had killed himself. He was hanging in his living room. I gagged, but I had to run home. So I started running

When I was running, I looked at the house. There was a door, to the basement, where it must have been. That's why it entered the house. I went back to my home, and locked myself in my room. Then it came. It opened the door, and it came in. The sounds started. Now I am here. In this room, waiting for it to break in. I locked the door, shoved my bed, all my stuff in front of it, but it's only a matter of time. I'd like to say goodbye, I just had to tell you my story.

If you know of this house, stay away, no matter what anyone tries to tell you. It will find you. Don't go in The House.

Yeah. I put a few games on my Christmas List, because there's not much I really specifically want, but when I look at it, it's worth $350. I think times have changed, but Christmas is more about "BUY ME STUFF" then giving.

There are a few things that make me feel old. 2005 was nearly 9 years ago. Teenagers I would see around the baseball park I would go to are now in their 20's, with jobs. The 5th graders from when I was in kindergarten are now in college, Club Penguin has been around for 8 years, along with Webkinz, Spongebob started airing 14.5 years ago, the Internet has been popular for around 18 years, I have a job, I am going to high school next year, a lot of things make me feel old. It's crazy how far away things that seem like yesterday really are.

So since I started 8th grade, I have had some problems with my new teacher. At the start of the year, we had a substitute teacher for 4 weeks, as my teacher was taking care of her daughter. All was fine until she returned.
She got back around the beginning of October, and things only went downhill. She is overly strict, incredibly mean, and treats kids like every question is somehow wrong. For example, I needed a pass to use the computer during study hall. I walk in, and ask her for the pass. She looks at me, with a look that mixes disgust and confusion, and asks me in that voice that if you have a sibling, it's that I-hate-you-why-are-you-talking-to-me-voice, and asks "Why would you need that." I tell her I don't know why, my study hall teacher just told me to get one. So she begrudgingly says "I guess I can do that,"
This is every single time I ask a question. And unbelievably, this isn't even the worst part. She is a terrible teacher. She tries to teach the lesson, but does it in the most confusing way, that I can barely understand what she is trying to teach. The material is review, and she makes it garbled and complicated. I'm not a bad student either, I am taking advanced classes like 9th grade English on the side of normal English, and that stuff is easier than what she is trying to teach us. With the fact that I already hate English class 80% of the time, it makes it an awful, awful class.
Recently, we have gotten a teacher's assistant, and the class is way better than it was before. Has anyone else had a problem with a bad teacher? Like, bad at teaching, overly strict, just a bad person to be around, etc?

People do it with grammar in my school. I've heard them say that too doesn't mean also, it means like "I have had too much", and even when I looked it up in a freaking dictionary where it says the definition, and tell them it can mean both, they still say "well I was still right because it also means my definition"
They also do it with literally a lot. You didn't literally die of embarrassment, you figuratively did. Jeez.
