SonicOlmstead : Thank you! I know it is a little out of nowhere! But I knew I wouldn't be on this site forever. I was quite active on the site for part of this summer since I didn't always have a lot to do. But it'll be a whole different story when I get a full-time job XD

Yes, as long as I've been here, the community has been wonderful! You can probably guess I've enjoyed it a lot because of my post count

I wish everyone the best!

So this thread title actually has a double meaning. I decided to make this the thread where I post the final chapter of my Pacman fanfiction I mean short story, I mean, well, more like novella... anyway...

This is also going to be my last thread on vizzed. (Not last post because I plan on replying to responses to this thread before I go.) I wanted to give everyone one last update since I've been very present on the site for quite some time now. Last time I disappeared for a couple years, I didn't even post beforehand. So I thought I'd do that this time.

Here's that chapter of my story, and scroll down for the update

Ghosts' Plan - A Pacman Story - Chapter 33- The Final Chapter

All seven ghosts met in the office at Silver and Bronze’s house. Blinky’s team was on the right side, and the other team was on the left side.

“We lost… again. But didn’t that feel amazing?” Pinky asked.

“Absolutely!” Inky agreed. “I never expected to be able to chase Pac-Man in a bigger and more challenging maze. That was a cool experience!”

“Even though we couldn’t see it, it sounded like it would be cool. But also kinda crazy,” Violet replied.

“Oh, it was super crazy for Greeny!” Silver laughed hard.

“He was scared out of his MIND,” Pinky giggled.

“Since when is Greeny scared of anything?” Blinky asked.

“I can’t believe those two Pac-Land construction workers made THAT behemoth maze,” Bronze said.

“I can’t believe Greeny left everything because of that,
too,” Silver said.

“Now that Greeny’s gone, won’t things be different for you guys?” Clyde wondered.

“I think so. We definitely want to hang out with your team a lot more, first off,” Bronze smiled, facing Blinky.

“Instead of pranks, we should do more missions,” Silver added.

“But you can’t be an effective team without a leader,” Blinky pointed out. “You should figure that out first.”
Silver and Bronze glanced at each other.

“Violet, we’ve missed your leadership,” Bronze began.

“With Greeny gone, you’d be limitless as a leader. You could help us become much better as a team and as friends to Blinky’s team. What do you think? Will you lead us from now on?”

Violet smiled wide. “Yes, that would be so much fun.”

“YES!!!” Silver and Bronze exclaimed.

“Congratulations,” Clyde said with excitement.

“Thanks. This will be quite the ride,” Violet commented.

“As Bronze suggested, I will make sure we see your team very often. Come visit whenever you want and we’ll visit plenty of times too.”

“We will. Come on guys I think it’s time to go home and get some rest,” Blinky told his team.

“See you soon!” Violet smiled.

So to recap... I've been registered on this site for almost 9 years. I joined when I was 12 and in middle school and started posting soon after that. Now I'm 21 and in my senior year of college.

Many great memories here! Throughout my time on the site, I've thoroughly enjoyed posting like a madman, making a ton of game reviews, and I even got to make my dream of winning a Tour de Vizzed come true! I didn't think I could win the overall red jersey since I wasn't a staff member, but I proved myself wrong by winning by 1 point.

When I "left" the site the first time, I was moving on to college. So much was going on, and I was satisfied with the great run I had on the site. All the memories I made and all the accomplishments.

In 2020, I was locked in my house just like everyone else. So I came back to vizzed. It served as a great way to cope with not being able to see anyone else for a while. And it was cool to see how the site had developed since then. My experience on the site felt new again, and I enjoyed a lot of the same things I did before!

After lockdown, I had a lot more to do again, and my activity on the site kept dropping. I kept convincing myself I was gonna pursue another dream of mine: reaching 10,000 posts! But that dream is a distant memory now. I've realized that it would take me YEARS more to reach that.

I'm about to graduate college soon. Just like last time, I want my graduation to serve as a great transition to take some things away and pick some new things up. I have a lot more going on in my life now. I BARELY play video games anymore (yeah, I know!) and I spend a lot of time writing, as you can see by my posts in the Stories forum. I keep finding more activities and passions to pursue, like drawing. I've always loved drawing, but now I'm committed to learning more about how to draw well.

Thank you all for the great memories here! I wasn't sure how much longer I'd be here since the lockdown is what brought me back. But the great community is what kept me here for an additional year. I hope you all are doing well. I know for me, I'm the happiest with my path in my life than I've ever been.

Chapter 31

Silver, devastated that Greeny had thrown his art, once again stayed silent. Bronze stayed silent, but his only reason for doing so was to support Silver and Violet. He wanted to support his team and make sure nothing Greeny could do would break them apart. They would visit Violet and each other each week if they needed to. Greeny, too, stayed silent. He didn’t want anything to do with Silver and Bronze anymore, but he was willing to still team up with Silver in the maze for a bit.

I HAVE to get revenge on Pac-Man today, Greeny thought. When he sees me, he should KNOW he’s a goner. I’m FAST! I’m CONFIDENT!

Is Violet coming to support us? Silver wondered. If she doesn’t, I understand. She doesn’t want to support Greeny. But it would still be great if she came to support me. Greeny destroyed all my hard work, and now I still have to be on his side to catch Pac-Man. In all this stress, I need some support.

“I’ll leave you two alone. I need some me time,” Greeny told them. He instantly took off, shut the door, and traveled to Pac-Land by himself.

“Hey Silver, is Violet coming to support us?” Bronze asked, pulling out his phone.

“I was just thinking about that!” Silver exclaimed. “I doubt it. I will call her anyway.”

“I already got it,” Bronze smiled. Bronze set his phone to speakerphone. It only took four seconds for Violet to answer.

“Hello?” Violet said.

“Hey, you’re on speakerphone because Greeny took off by himself,” Bronze replied enthusiastically.

“Oh, OK. What is it?” Violet wondered.

“It’s less than an hour until the maze event starts,” Silver answered. “Do you want to come watch it?”

“Sure!” Violet shouted. “I need to watch from a spot where no one sees me, though.”

“I’m positive you’ll find one,” Bronze assured her. “See you there! Or at least we will afterwards.”

Chapter 32

The streets of Pac-Land looked entirely empty that day because every citizen of Pac-Land, a city with a population of about one hundred, was sitting in the bleachers. Pac-Land citizens watching the event included Bill and Harry and their very proud boss. Next to the flat and large maze, Pac-Man, Ms. Pac-Man, and Jr. Pac-Man stood for pictures. Silver, Pinky, Inky, and Greeny were two feet below them in the maze, which they had entered by jumping in. They floated to their starting point inside the rectangular box, which had red borders just like the rest of the maze.

The mayor, previously sitting in the front row of the bleachers, now stood in front of Pac-Man’s family. He had a gray beard. He motioned for Ms. Pac-Man and Jr. Pac-Man to sit down in the front row. He then motioned for Pac-Man to jump into the maze and find his marked starting position. Pac-Man jumped in and walked up to the one spot in the whole maze that didn’t have a pellet: the top left corner.

“Ahem!” the mayor yelled, hoping everyone in the crowd would notice him standing there in his red jacket. The crowd took ten seconds to calm down while the mayor patiently and awkwardly kept standing there.

“Thank you!” the mayor chuckled. “And good morning. In three minutes, Pac-Man will attempt, with no practice beforehand… to complete the new maze that Bill and Harry built! Everyone clap for Bill and Harry!”
The audience screamed, stomped, and then finally clapped. Bill and Harry smiled as if this was normal, even though construction workers typically weren’t recognized for their hard work in Pac-Land.

The mayor continued once the noise died down. “As you might have been curious about, we don’t have the usual four ghosts against Pac-Man today! NO! We have Pinky and Inky, but we also have two ghosts who are new to the scene… Silver and Greeny!”

While the mayor invited Bill and Harry to come down and talk about their hard work on the maze, Blinky and Clyde found a spot to park at on the opposite side of the maze where no Pac-Land citizens were seated. Unfortunately, they couldn’t see anything because the maze was two feet deep. They could, however, hear everything clearly. A minute later, Violet found them and joined them.

“Good to see you, Violet!” Blinky greeted her quietly.

“There’s no spot to view the action…”

“That’s alright. I’m just here to support Pinky, Inky, and Silver. I know Silver will tell me all about it later,” Violet replied.

“Are you all ready to see Pac-Man CHOMP SOME GHOSTS??” the mayor yelled.

“YEAAAAAAAHHHHHH!!!!!!” the audience screamed.

“Wait, how is he able to chomp us?” Greeny asked.

“Those,” Pinky told him, pointing his eyes at one of the five ghosteater pellets scattered in random places throughout the maze.
Oops. We forgot to warn you about those, Inky giggled in his mind.

Greeny had heard of ghosteater pellets before, but he didn’t know they’d be in this maze. He thought back to his first conversation with Blinky when Blinky told him Pac-Man tries to eat the ghosts with a powerful pellet.

“READYYYYY? START!” the mayor screamed. He ran out of the way so he and the rest of Pac-Land could see clearly.
It’s too bad we have to be silent, Silver thought. We are a team but kind of working independently at the same time.
Pac-Man turned right, then down, then right. The ghosts came out of their box, one by one: first Greeny, then Pinky, then Inky, then Silver. Greeny couldn’t wait to catch Pac-Man, so he went up to where Pac-Man was. Pac-Man turned towards Greeny but then ran away from Greeny to psych him out.

Man, he’s a jerk, Greeny thought.

Pac-Man gobbled up pellets, now going down. Silver, Inky, and Pinky all tried to corner him where one of the little walls was. They were too late; Pac-Man grabbed his first ghosteater pellet. A strange feeling of weakness came over the ghosts as they transformed. They all turned blue, and their faces became squiggly frowns.

What happened to us? Why is Pac-Man now coming TOWARDS us?? Silver thought, beginning to freak out and head a different direction.

I feel funny… oh well. Time to catch you, Pac-Man! Greeny thought. Pac-Man came right towards him and chomped him. He immediately became a pair of floating eyes. All of Pac-Land cheered. Ms. Pac-Man cheered the loudest. Terrified and creeped out, Greeny darted around several turns into the box. He felt his body being restored.

I don’t want that to happen to me. AHHHHHH! Silver thought. Pac-Man chomped Pinky, then Inky, and chased Silver. Silver felt himself blinking from white to blue to white to blue. He felt tingling and then rapid relief. He was back to his usual silver color.

I can’t believe this! This is supposed to be FUN?? Greeny thought, shaking. He hadn’t come out of the box yet.
Is Greeny… nervous? Pinky wondered. Well, he isn’t used to being chomped on... Pinky decided he’d briefly pass the ghost box from above it to motivate Greeny to come out. Greeny looked up at him and followed him. Immediately, Pac-Man found another ghosteater pellet. Once again, the four ghosts felt weaker. Greeny felt even more panic.

I JUST WANTED TO CATCH THIS DORK! Greeny thought, panicking.

The ghosts had managed to avoid getting chomped on this time. Pinky and Inky came very close to Pac-Man. Greeny attempted to help them corner him. Inky tapped Pac-Man, so Pac-Man spun around and vanished.
Finally, something BAD happens to you! Greeny thought. Good riddance. I am so sick of seeing your overly happy face--

Pac-Man re-spawned at the top left corner of the maze. Greeny’s eyes widened more and more as he stared at Pac-Man. He couldn’t think of anything to do but go hide in the box again. This whole “game” creeped him out beyond what he thought he could handle. Silver had to try very hard to keep himself from bursting out laughing. Greeny was never scared of anything. Now, though, the creature he had been excessively passionate about catching broke him. The other three ghosts attempted to corner Pac-Man. Pac-Man shoveled pellet after pellet in his mouth, moving through the very long horizontal section of the maze that led to the next ghosteater pellet he spotted.

This is so disturbing! Look at him, pigging out down there! GROSS! Greeny thought.

Two minutes later, the ghosts still weren’t getting anywhere, and Greeny was still in the box.

Pac-Man is already halfway through this massive maze. Come on out, Greeny… Pinky thought.

A cherry spawned in the middle of the maze. Greeny looked down and remembered that they used a cherry as their trap in the abandoned building.

Oh, no no no. That cherry is too far away this time, Pac-Man thought. A timer, located to the left of the maze on a gray pole, began to count down from sixty seconds with a beep for every second. Pac-Man stared at the cherry and changed his mind.

Yes, go for your favorite! Pinky thought.

Pac-Man desperately raced through the maze to reach his
cherry. Focused too much on the cherry, Silver caught him three turns away from it.

Awwwww I’m still hungry, Pac-Man whined in his mind when he respawned. But I only have one more chance to beat this maze!

Pac-Man whipped through the maze. At the bottom of the maze, he found two ghosteater pellets side by side. Pinky was right behind him when he chomped on one.

It’s over, Greeny thought. He only has a few dots left to eat, and they’re all right there.

Sure enough, Pac-Man finished the maze without getting caught a third time. Pinky and Inky sat in the box pretty surprised that Pac-Man did this on the first try. Greeny felt extremely angry and jealous of Pac-Man’s skill. Silver felt happy because it was Greeny’s fault they lost. Greeny had skill and speed that they didn’t, and he didn’t use it much.

“HE COMPLETED THE MAZE!” the mayor screamed. “That was a close one, folks! For a second there, I almost thought Pac-Man would have to give it another shot next year! I will never doubt Pac-Man again, though! WOW!!!”

“I LOVE YOU!!! YOU’RE THE BEST!!!” Ms. Pac-Man screamed.

The rest of the audience kept stomping and screaming.
Greeny felt so angry that he called Silver over to him and whispered, “I’m going on a permanent vacation. Away from Pac-Land and away from Booming City. I’ll go to the island that ghosts visit for vacations and live there. You and Bronze have fun with your little missions. Me? I’m going to go as far away from everyone as possible. I’ve learned my lesson about working with others. It’s no fun. See ya. Never. Ever. Again.”

See ya. Never. Ever. Again.”

Chapter 27

Why would Silver call me? Violet wondered after waking up and checking her phone a half hour later. She had her phone on silent mode, figuring that Greeny would continue to give her a hard time. I’m not a part of their team anymore, so what’s the point of calling me? I would answer I guess, but then Silver and Bronze would get into trouble. I’m not letting them experience Greeny’s worst side too. If they’re sick of his self-serving leadership, they need to figure out how to leave.

Two minutes later, Bronze knocked on her front door.

Violet, who had just entered the family room near the front door, jumped. She needed to look out the window next to the door to make sure it wasn’t Greeny there to “apologize” or make her join the team again. She felt surprised when she saw Silver, Bronze, Blinky, Pinky, Inky, and Clyde all waiting there. She knew that something important had to be going on.

“Hey guys, what’s going on?” Violet asked when she opened the door.
Clyde smiled. “Are you up for another mission? We’ll explain.”

“Uh… really? Not if Greeny’s in it,” Violet responded in
anger.

“Technically, he isn’t. Pac-Land is building a new maze for Pac-Man. They’re having ghost tryouts so four ghosts can chase him inside this maze. We have to make sure Greeny doesn’t win a spot. He doesn’t deserve to be one of the ghosts to catch Pac-Man, but you do,” Clyde told her.

“I liked Greeny until he kicked you off the team,” Blinky began. “Now I realize he needs to be stopped. You lead Silver and Bronze calmly and nicely, but he’s holding you back.”

“We could live without Greeny’s leadership, but we don’t want to lose yours,” Bronze told Violet.
Violet smiled and felt that she didn’t want to lose her team either. “Where do we go for the tryouts?”

“They’re in Pac-Land at the construction site we got a
glimpse of before,” Inky informed her.

“Oh wow, so we have to go to Pac-Land during the day?” Violet asked.

“Yep. We can’t get caught,” Pinky sighed.

Chapter 28

“Welcome to tryouts! So glad to see you ‘ere,” Bill greeted all seven ghosts. Greeny had tried out first, so he was once again nowhere to be seen.

The ghosts looked around at the fancy and heavy yellow machinery around them, as well as the short but wide gray rocks sitting in front of them that Bill and Harry stood to the left of. They glanced at the light gray bleachers that the Pac-Land citizens would sit on. Finally, they looked at the black maze with red borders behind them.

That’s the maze? EEK!!! Clyde thought.

Harry shouted, “Introduce yourselves! After that, ‘ide behind the ‘eavy machinery over there so one of you goes at a time.”

“And don’t try to chomp on us or you will never be a part of this ‘uge event!” Bill told them sternly.

“Got it! I’ll go first,” Inky replied.
All the other ghosts introduced themselves by stating their names after Inky did.

“Good, good!” Harry smiled wide. “OK, ‘ere are the rules. All you ‘ave to do is move around these rocks as fast as possible, and with style. We will ‘ave our decisions about five minutes after everyone is done.”

“Alright, great! I’m pumped,” Inky shouted.
Bill told them, “Now you all ‘ave to ‘ide, except for ooever wants to take this on first.”

“I will!” Inky volunteered. He stayed where he was, but the others hid behind the machinery. They made sure to stay quiet so Inky could concentrate. He dashed around the rocks with a giant smile on his face and leaning forward.

“Very nice! NEXT!” Bill shouted.
Bronze wiggled around the rocks, shaking himself and
sticking his tongue out.

“A ‘a, very ‘umorous! Nice! NEXT!” Harry shouted.
Pinky sped around the rocks, eyes focused only on the rocks.

“Good concentration! Nice! NEXT!” Harry yelled.
Violet raced around the rocks, smoothly turning before each rock.

“Nice movement! NEXT!” Bill shouted.
Clyde slid around the rocks, making sure he didn’t hit one.

“Good and careful! NEXT!” Harry shouted.

Blinky whipped around the rocks, making his turns as sharp as possible.

“Good speed! NEXT!” Bill shouted.
Silver zoomed around the rocks backwards.

“Good maneuverability! All done! Now join the others while we discuss this,” Bill shouted to Silver.
Five minutes later, Bill called all the ghosts over to him and Harry.

“Good job, guys… and girl,” Harry complimented the ghosts.

“Arry and I ‘ave decided the four ghosts oo will be ‘aving
a blast chasing Pac-Man in the new maze tomorrow arrrrrre… Pinky, Inky, Silver, and Greeny, the guy who was ‘ere before you,” Bill announced.

WHAT???!!! Clyde screamed in his mind. HOW IN THE NAME OF BOOMING CITY’S ABANDONED BUILDING DID GREENY LAND A SPOT?

Chapter 29

I knew I’d land a spot, Greeny grinned. Rushing around the rocks with my eyes closed sure was impressive.

By himself in his office, Greeny wanted to find out if Silver and Bronze liked and respected him, so he could prove Violet wrong. First, he opened up Silver’s desk drawer. In that drawer, he discovered a drawing depicting him lifting weights. The drawing, done in colored pencil, had a squiggly light blue background with him making a constipation face.

“What the??” Greeny yelled aloud.

Next, he discovered a painting of him leading the team in a circle huddle. This painting had a solid black background with Greeny’s smiling mouth going all the way down to the floor. His eyes bulged out, but his pupils were much smaller.

“HOW RUDE!” Greeny boomed, his eyes bulging out just like the painting.

After that, he discovered a drawing of only himself. Drawn in markers, this one had an effortless red striped background with Greeny having a big body but a tiny, serious face. The bottom of the drawing read, “ROUGH DRAFT.”

“OOOOOHH THIS IS DISGUSTING!!!!!” Greeny raged. He picked up all the drawings, including the ones he didn’t see, and hurled them against the wall opposite him. However, he stopped when he saw the final drawing out of the corner of his eye. This drawing was intentionally buried beneath the others. Drawn in colored pencil, it showed Greeny up in a cloud throwing thunder at them from a burgundy sky, and Silver, Bronze, and Violet were pleading with him.

“So they all hate me? WELL THEN I HATE THEM TOO!!!!!!” Greeny roared, crumpling the drawing and slamming it onto the floor in a spot to his right. He checked Bronze’s drawer but found nothing unusual. He checked Violet’s drawer, and it was empty as usual.

“Why is her desk still here? I guess I’ll keep it and make it my second desk,” Greeny smiled wide.

Chapter 30

“Wake up! It’s a big day for a big maze,” Blinky whisper-yelled to Pinky and Inky. He wanted Clyde to be able to sleep since he wouldn’t be a part of this. Neither would Blinky, but he wanted to cheer the others on (minus Greeny) from a place where the Pac-Men, Pac-Women, and Pac-Children wouldn’t spot him. He didn’t know where that spot would be yet.
“Oh yes, hurry up, Inky! We should get our food and then warm up,” Pinky suggested.

“Will do! Let me stretch,” Inky requested.
Pinky and Inky took their time to eat their breakfast at 7:30 AM. The maze event was set to start at 8:30, so they had plenty of time to prepare and travel. Clyde continued sleeping.
Blinky smiled wide. “I am so proud of you guys.”

“Thanks, man,” Inky replied.

“We wouldn’t be doing this without you, so it’s sad we have to do this without you,” Pinky sighed.

“It’s alright. I will be there to watch don’t worry,” Blinky assured them.

“What are you guys doing?” Clyde yawned.

“We’re preparing for another Pac-Man chase!” Inky told him excitedly.

“Oh, I’ll have to watch it where no one can see me,” Clyde
thought aloud.

“I’m doing that too. Watch it with me if you don’t have to use the bathroom!” Blinky laughed.

“No way I’m using a bathroom in Pac-Land. Nuh-uh,” Clyde responded.

“Whether this is a success or not we’re still a team,” Blinky began. “Nothing Pac-Man can do will break our bond. I won’t let leading a team get in the way of us being a team. Pinky and Inky you will do well. Corner Pac-Man and catch him! Take away all three chances he has to complete the maze!”

Chapter 24

“Oh, home… so good to be here for a while,” Clyde said softly. He and the others had been resting at home for two days, taking their time to recover from their failure.

“Yes,” Blinky groaned.

“How are those bruises doing, Pinky?” Inky asked.

“They’re still purple, but they’re getting to be alright I suppose,” Pinky replied.

All the ghosts heard a slapping sound. For the first time since they “moved in”, the ghosts had someone at their door. They could hear leaves hitting their door from the overgrown bushes. They were terrified that someone discovered their house and possibly knew it wasn’t abandoned.

“It could be Greeny or somebody. Ask who’s there,” Pinky whispered.

“Who’s there?” Blinky asked in a demanding tone.
The mysterious knocker replied, “This is ‘arry, a long-time Pac-Land construction worker. I ‘ave my friend Bill ‘ere with me too. Listen, I’m ‘ere to get the word out about the brand new maze opening up in Pac-Land. We just finished building it.”

“Um we’re ghosts,” Blinky told them. “I think you have the
wrong house.”

“Oh, cool! We didn’t know this ‘ouse existed til just now,” Bill responded. “We thought maybe there were Pac-Men in ‘ere but… we need four ghosts for the maze. We won’t do anything to you. Please open the door.”
Blinky cracked open the door and felt relieved that they were innocent Pac-Men not interested in trying to chomp on them.

“Thank you,” Harry smiled. “We know there are many ghosts in Booming City, and apparently even not in Booming City, so we wanted you to ‘ave the chance to try out. Go into the construction area of Pac-Land without getting caught, and ask for ‘arry and Bill. My boss knows ghosts will be coming. ‘Ave a great day.” He and Bill walked away, each holding a stack of fliers for everyone in Pac-Land.

“Hold on guys,” Blinky called out to them. They turned around and listened to what he had to say. “I have an idea. I’m Blinky and I have Pinky Inky and Clyde with me here. We are the ghosts who have chased Pac-Man for thirty-eight years now. But we recently made a connection with four ghosts in Booming City who are super talented. Please give them a chance too. Don’t bother with any other ghosts. They all know nothing about chasing Pac-Man. My team and I know a lot and now their team does too. Their names are Greeny Violet Silver and Bronze. We know Pac-Man likes a challenge and the eight of us combined gave him a huge challenge.”

“OK,” Bill replied. “Only the eight of you will be trying out then. We will make sure of it. Our boss will be very ‘appy. Thank you!”

“Thank you! This is gonna be great!” Blinky exclaimed.

“What happened to being too frustrated and bummed to do anything?” Pinky asked Blinky while he closed the door.

“Just like it was when we teamed up with Greeny we gotta take opportunities when they come,” Blinky replied. “This failure especially hurt but chasing Pac-Man in a new maze could be our payback!”

“Ooh, I like that idea,” Pinky grinned.

“Now we should go and tell Greeny,” Blinky suggested.

Do we really have to team up with him again? Clyde thought.

“Yeah, I’ve missed him and his team,” Inky told them.

“AWAY WE GO!”

Chapter 25

Greeny excitedly began brainstorming the next prank he and his team could do. He had already moved on from kicking Violet off the team. He liked the idea of being the only leader, which was a silent motive for his decision the other day. Silver and Bronze had been completely silent. Silver used his colored pencils to make drawings while Bronze watched fail compilation videos to make himself feel better. Silver occasionally glanced over at Bronze’s screen and cracked a smile.

This is an excellent new work environment, Greeny thought. No more suggestions from Violet... and a quieter room.

“Hey, who’s knocking at the door?” Silver asked, finally speaking.

It was quiet. Yeah, I wonder… Greeny thought. He rushed to the door, hoping it wasn’t Violet. He didn’t want her back even if she took back what she said.

“Hey we got some good news!” Blinky greeted Greeny, getting straight to the point.

“Wow, good to see you again so soon!” Greeny replied.

“Is the rest of your team here?” Inky asked as he and the rest of Blinky’s team stepped inside.

“Well, uh… no. I’ll go get Silver and Bronze,” Greeny answered.
Once Silver and Bronze joined the others at the front door, Greeny motioned for all of them to go into the office again. Blinky’s team went to the left side of the office, and Greeny’s team went to the right.

“What’s your news?” Greeny yelled, excited to hear it.
Blinky told Greeny’s team, “Two Pac-Land construction workers visited our house today. They told us they’re building a new maze in Pac-Land and they need four ghosts to chase Pac-Man through this maze. I told them not to bother looking for any other ghosts because the eight of us gave Pac-Man a good challenge! Would you like to team up with us again? Sadly it can’t be all eight of us this time because only four will be selected. But I thought you all would love the opportunity.”

“Wait Pac-Land construction workers actually built a maze in Pac-Land?! I made a joke about that before!” Silver commented.

Greeny glanced at Silver and Bronze to see if they liked the idea. That way, he wouldn’t have to have an argument with them. They smiled slightly.

“What do you think?” Pinky asked.

“I love it!” Greeny told them. “This is the perfect way to get revenge on Pac-Man!! WHERE DO WE SIGN UP?”

“We sneak to the Pac-Land construction site and try out there,” Blinky replied.

“Sounds good. We should get over there as soon as we can!” Greeny recommended.

“Where’s Violet by the way?” Clyde wondered.
Greeny jumped. “Well, uh… oh… well…”

“She’s gone,” Silver told Clyde plainly. “Greeny screamed at her and kicked her off the team. We heard it go down from outside.”
Greeny froze. Silver had given the brutally honest answer, which he normally wouldn’t do.

“Oh…” Clyde sighed.

“Ya know what, I’ll go to the Pac-Land construction site by myself…” Greeny muttered. He left the office and slammed the door shut.

Chapter 26

Oh NO, Blinky thought. Greeny can have his head start. We need some time to process what Silver said.

Tears welled up in Clyde’s eyes. “Now you know,” he whispered, not looking at Blinky.

Blinky stayed still, thinking back to Clyde’s warnings about Greeny. He inched forward and gave Clyde a hug. He briefly pulled the door open to check if Greeny was still there, but there was no sign of him.

“I have no idea where Violet is now but probably at home with her siblings,” Bronze told them.

“I hope she’s OK,” Clyde said, looking around because he was getting restless.

“Clyde I am so sorry,” Blinky began. “You invested a lot more thought and caution into this mission than I did. You warned us that Greeny was no good but I believed he was just excited to join us in our mission. Now that Violet is gone he has become even worse I’m sure. I hope his narcissism prevents him from landing a spot in the new maze. Silver and Bronze I apologize to you too. Violet led you calmly and with care but I looked up to Greeny more because a greater amount of my attention was drawn to him. I hope Violet can still somehow join us. You guys deserve better.”

Clyde, looking straight at Blinky, replied, “I’m glad you know now. I’m not angry because Greeny has given me more perspective on how amazing of a leader you are. You give us time to think and to relax. You’re open to suggestions and a change of plans. Most of all, you make our work fun. Chasing Pac-Man is ridiculously tough sometimes, but I can do it again and again because you are there too.”
Inky nodded and then added with a smile, “You’re positive about our failures also. How else would we have kept chasing Pac-Man for decades?”

Blinky felt a wave of relief. “Thank you so much guys. As I said I didn’t give Violet enough attention or credit for all we did. Make sure to give Pinky some credit too. Oh we should all should try to find Violet at her house so she can join us.”

“I can call her first,” Silver suggested.

“Go ahead,” Blinky told him.
Silver tapped Violet’s number on his phone and waited. He had to leave her a voicemail, which he chose not to.

“Oh no…” Pinky frowned.

“We should visit her at her house if she’s there. She probably thought Greeny was in the room for our call,” Bronze told the others.

The last thing I bought in person was at a garage sale. Everything was being sold for free there so I got a few books!

But the last thing I paid money for in person is Chick-fil-a.

LeCroix! Haha just kidding.

But... if it really came down to it, I'd have LeCroix once in a while to survive since it's just carbonated water. But other than that, Dr. Pepper!!

My favorite anime is Naruto. I really enjoyed watching it in high school. The story and the themes deeply resonated with me! And it was one of very few shows I ever binge-watched.

One of the themes I've been developing throughout this story is the contrast between Blinky and Greeny's leadership. Blinky's the more selfless team leader whereas Greeny is completely full of himself. We must be leaders for the sake of other people, not ourselves. Otherwise, stuff like this happens...

Chapter 23

“Clyde, you alright now?” Violet asked him. He had woken up from his nap two minutes before.

“I guess so,” Clyde sighed. “Are you?”

“Yeah,” Violet replied. “I think we all felt similar to how you did.”

“I know I did,” Blinky told them. “We had meetings every day about this mission and we’ve bonded so well together over it. Now it’s suddenly over. Pac-Man knows this wasn’t a real maze he knows your team exists and he’s probably bragging about his victory to everyone. This was a one-shot mission and now it’s done.”

“I think the bond we’ve made… two teams coming together as one… is worth it,” Violet began. “If you and Greeny didn’t have that conversation at the arcade, we would have kept going with our own separate missions. And you guys would have had to do all that… by yourselves. Without our technology, without any additional feedback and ideas… it would’ve been so much harder on you guys. Now we can say that all eight of us tried and that something good came out of it.”

“You’re right,” Clyde sniffed. “I think I can speak for my whole team that this was the coolest mission we’ve ever been on.”

Blinky smiled. “I agree. We put more effort into this than anything we’ve ever done before and the feeling of accomplishing all that when Pac-Man arrived was unbelievably amazing. Thank you Greeny Violet Silver and Bronze for being a part of this journey.”

“No problem,” Greeny responded.
After fifteen seconds of silence, Pinky asked Blinky,
“Should we go home now?”

“Yeah,” Blinky answered.

“I hope to see you guys again,” Violet told Blinky’s team.

“Bye, Violet. I hope so too,” Clyde replied.
Blinky’s team slowly opened the entrance to the building and traveled home. Greeny’s team stayed behind to talk.

“It stinks the mission ended like this, but that was so much fun for me! I see why Blinky’s team loves chasing Pac-Man all the time. I loved every second of it,” Greeny commented.

“Hey Greeny, I have to talk to you about something, just you and I, for a minute…” Violet announced, not planning on this until just now.

“Uh, sure, Violet. Let’s go over to this hallway on the left,” Greeny suggested.

“We’ll wait outside,” Bronze told Greeny and Violet.
Once Greeny and Violet were in a different hallway, Violet spoke up, slightly afraid of what could happen. “Greeny, the day we painted the entrance hallway, there was a reason I stayed behind.”

“Oh really? Why would you do that?” Greeny asked angrily.

“I was talking to Clyde… about you…” Violet started to tell him.

“What about me? Something great I should hear?” Greeny smiled.

“No, actually,” Violet answered. “We’ve been leading our team for so long, but lately I’ve noticed you don’t seem to have a team mindset. I’ve talked to Silver and Bronze about this before, and they agree… the way you act around us shows that you care more about leading this team than about the team itself. You kept trying to make yourself look good for Blinky’s team, and--”

“ENOUGH!” Greeny boomed. “As you said, I’ve been leading this team for so long--”

“We,” Violet corrected him.

“You know what I MEANT!” Greeny shouted, gradually
increasing in volume with every word. “Leading this team for so long and now you’re going to complain to me? What are you trying to say, that I’m not a good leader?! Well, maybe YOU’RE NOT A GOOD LEADER! I keep having to CONSTANTLY tell you not to be so calm and easy on Silver and Bronze! That’s not how you get them to obey. And it’s harder to work things out when you and I have two different strategies, or… MINDSETS! And now you’re trying to tell me that SILVER and BRONZE DON’T LIKE ME? That’s absolutely unacceptable! You’ve crossed the line big time. We just failed a HUGE mission and you choose to COMPLAIN and make it WORSE?! Well GET OUT OF HERE! GET OFF MY TEAM! I DON’T NEED YOUR ATTEMPT AT HELP TO BE SUCCESSFUL. GO BACK HOME AND FIND SOMETHING BETTER TO DO. I… I can’t believe this is even happening… well, why are you still here? WHAT I SAID IS FINAL!!!”

Violet silently left the building. She slowly approached Silver and Bronze.

“Oh my, I’m so sorry--” Silver began. They had heard the last couple sentences Greeny screamed.

“I did it, guys, and I guess I’m gone. I’ll miss this team,” Violet told them in a rush. She cried the second she left them. They said goodbye and waited for Greeny to come out.

I know how you feel. I can get my printer to work... once in a solar eclipse. A lot of the time, it'll act like it's never connected to Wi-Fi before. Or if it does connect, it'll still sit there for a long time before it decides to print anything. I find it sad that the old, worn-out printers at my college work better than that thing.

I don't know that I've always been the most optimistic person, but for the longest time I've put a lot of effort into seeing the good in whatever situations I come across. It especially helps me to see the bright side if I have some good moments throughout the day where I feel less stressed.

How did I miss this thread so long ago?

This sounds like a great way to honor members of the site who have been contributing to it for many years. And I think it's a great idea to have 3 people in the interview. That could make the conversation even more fun and memorable for the vizzed veterans!

About time you make this thread, at least you didn't do it during the TdV XD

Have you ever fallen asleep while listening to music with earbuds/headphones in your ears?

Vizzed.com is very expensive to keep alive! The Ads pay for the servers.

Vizzed has 3 TB worth of games and 1 TB worth of music.  This site is free to use but the ads barely pay for the monthly server fees.  If too many more people use ad block, the site cannot survive.

We prioritize the community over the site profits.  This is why we avoid using annoying (but high paying) ads like most other sites which include popups, obnoxious sounds and animations, malware, and other forms of intrusiveness.  We'll do our part to never resort to these types of ads, please do your part by helping support this site by adding Vizzed.com to your ad blocking whitelist.
