A is for Appare-Ranman! A severely underrated steampunk-esc alternate history story about early 20th century auto racing. Much more interesting than I expected, and I definitely recommend it.

Up next is B.

D is for Desert Punk. It's basically a trashy Trigun with none of the charm. I think that the manga is better.

Who minds bumping these days

For me, it was the duel between Yami Marik and Yami Bakura on the blimp in Battle City. It's short, but it's brutal, and it has a great moment for Bakura, who is my favorite character in the franchise in general.

Wow, hitting a million views is something that nobody ever expects to actually do, but sometimes things just have a way of working out. Major props, man.

thing1 : I am not, I just wanted to test out how the site worked now. So much has changed. Fortunately, I was able to use an otherwise spam thread to not only re-learn how the board worked, but also how the new posts and layouts work.
I'll go ahead and close this thread before it garners too much negative attention. Hopefully more resourceful threads that can bring life back will follow.

Honestly, I'd have to say The War of the Worlds, by H.G. Wells. I read it in 9th grade for school, and I didn't really appreciate it then, but since then I've re-read it a few times and have come to really love it. It's kind of dry, but it really showcases Wells' almost prophetic style of writing and his unique, droll wit. It really is a great book.

I posted in one of these years ago, so I won't go into it here (plus it's super easy, I arbitrarily picked the name of my favorite Mega Man Zero character).

Instead, I'll go over my alternative name, which I use on steam, anime sites, discord, the works.

That would be OrangeCrust, which I came up with many, many years through a mishearing of the R.E.M. song "Orange Crush". I was very young at the time and genuinely couldn't figure out what the hell Michael Stipe meant by 'orange crust'. Then, of course, I figured it out, but the inside joke remained. When Barathemos signed up, I was mad at myself because he had a good username to his own he could easily use in any medium and be recognized, so I dug deep and started using OrangeCrust. Still not quite there, I could probably come up with something more clever, but after ~4 years of using it, it's started to grow on me.

Not usually, I find them by and large to be formulaic and just not very interesting (especially high school niche sports like volleyball, good lord); many people can enjoy sports anime despite not being familiar or interested in the sport in question, but I am just not that way.

There is one glaring exception: Baseball.

I love baseball anime, though even then I have to be picky. Unlike the overwhelming majority, I much prefer anime about professional baseball to those about high school baseball, just personal preference. Recently, Gurazeni was released (about a professional relief pitcher), and despite it offering sub-par CG and an overall unimpressive experience, I loved it. Something about it just got me.

Oh, I also find the need to bring up the ridiculous trend recently in school sports anime. They're treading in really, really niche waters recently. A school club anime about bass fishing? Synchronized swimming? 5 new cycling anime? High school girls racing sidecar motorcycles?

Honestly.

Manga doesn't have music and voice acting, anime has more variables and doesn't allow for as much imagination and interpretation.

In the end, I enjoy anime more (music and sound admittedly plays a massive role in this decision), but there are also a number of manga that have been downright insulted on the anime side of things (Horimiya) and some that have just been ignored entirely (Komi-san).

The thing that really grinds my gears are the people who (in either case, anime or manga) claim that you aren't a true fan if you pirate anything or use a streaming/fan translation service. I don't know Japanese and I have very little to my name in terms of spending money. Let me read a fan translation in peace.

And in that regard, manga can be incredibly superior to anime in that a studio needs to pick up an anime for us to see it at all, subbed or not, but any shmuck can release a manga on twitter and as long as one person is willing to translate it, we can all read it. Ease of access really is great.

I'm a mess, so I watch a bunch of currently airing anime:
Bungou Stray Dogs
Cinderella Nine
Dororo
Strike Witches Puchimas Knock-off
Senko Fox Anime
We Never Learn
Wise Man's Grandchild

In addition, I'm also watching Made in Abyss: I never got around to watching it as it aired, so I'm picking it up now so I'll be ready when the second season airs. I'm really, really enjoying it so far, it really is top-of-the-line.

Simple is a double-edged sword. Sure, your own stat boosts are double effective, but so are negative boosts inflicted by your opponent. Depending on your opponent's strategy, you can get yourself in a real bad situation pretty quick.
5/10

Up next is Adaptability, a personal favorite of mine.

I'm a very basic person, so for me, I'm split between the first Familiar of Zero, Evangelion, Made in Abyss, Steins;Gate 0, and The Pet Girl of Sakurasou.

They're just all so good in different ways.

I think I watched the first episode and dropped it.
Real in-depth response, I know. But it's the truth.
Even though it's filmed where I live, I just never really got into it: like GOT, it was that one show that it seemed as though literally everybody watched but me. At least in the beginning, as time wore on more and more people got fed up with it and stopped watching as well. And so, here we are.

lol Alonso didn't qualify.
I haven't been active so I haven't been able to give my hot take.
Rossi is scary, Laguna Seca should be great.
The Indy 500 was really great, which is good, they really needed a good showing. I only wish Ed Carpenter could have won, but I guess there's always next year.
Unfortunately, Detriot is about to start this weekend, and it's probably going to be boring again. But we'll see.
My main hope is that they can forward conversations for Surfer's Paradise within the next few years. In addition, I'm actually kind of intrigued by the possibility of a shared weekend with NASCAR at the Roval, which has come up in the news recently.
And as always, Hornish needs to do something. I really miss seeing his name in the news.
